The metric system makes more sense, though.
23/6 is hilarious.
And for God's sake, sports teams now?
1Why does the Queen mother..or good lord is that the Queen (getting a tad old my lady) have a banana and a bouquet in her hand?? Was she just greeted by a Dole representative?
2Good grief that is the Queen.. is that woman ever going to hand down the throne to Charles? Are they just going to skip Charles and go straight to William?
3Whatever--the only thing that matters is that Obama loves my White Sox.
He's a
bigger person than I to be able to show some appreciation for the Rays after they beat us...so...GO PHILLIES!
4HRH Queen Elizabeth WILL NEVER ABDICATE THE THRONE!
At least that's what my British Aunt says. She said Elizabeth's father and mother told her not to ever willingly give up the throne and to not give Phillip the title of King.
I wonder what's in the Queen's purse today? Wadded up kleenex? A lipstick? A plastic bag of mints?
I know she never has a wallet or money in there so what's in the bag today? Cookies!
Hmmm...her purse has always fascinated me.
5The queen is very hard working and still sharp as a tack.
6Charles will be a reluctant monarch, Camilla is the one that's going to love all that pomp and ceremony, already pushing for title of queen.
Oh definitely Ceej.
I have become fascinate by her. She is very intelligent, thoughtful and man the Queen was actually served active duty in the British Military. She is a heck of a mechanic.
I agree that Charles doesn't want the crown any longer. What he would like is to have more influence on British energy policy and on teaching Brits to live sustainably and to support organic farms.
I cannot imagine Camilla as the wife of the King of England. I don't think that Charles would afford her the title of Queen even if by some weird happenstance he were to become King.
I think Queen Elizabeth is waiting for William to finish his military training and settle down before she asks him if he would like to be King upon her demise.
7Wouldn't skipping over Charles be a slap in the face? All these years prepping and preparing himself to take on that role while his beyond healthy and long living outdoorsy energetic mother keeping rolling along.. good grief she could possibly out live him.
And you are right I never thought about what is in her purse. A gilded picture of her favorite hunting hounds, some peppermints, a small book of poetry and a cell phone wrapped in a very old and expensive lace and embroidered handkerchief. Thats my guess.
What is not in her purse.. wallet, keys, coin purse, stamps, Bic ballpoint pen, to do list.
8I could swear that one of the BBC documentaries on the Royal Family said what she typically carries in her purse on public outings. One of her maids said that she had tissue, lipstick, a sweet candy or two and a compact. The maid or Lady-in-Waiting said the Queen doesn't carry any money of ID for public appearances but when she goes to High Grove, she uses her purse like any other woman, she's got money and everyone else's junk in there. I think she only carries a cell phone when she's at High Grove.
9Could the queen pass over Charles as long as he's healthy and sound? Isn't there a law that defines the protocol? Unless they use Charles divorce as a reason to skip him. That would probably make Camilla livid.
Would McCain have criticized Obama's baseball support if he knew that Sarah Palin flip-flopped by saying the exact same thing to support both teams, plus Boston. Three teams.
