I am so grateful for all the different kinds of birth control on the market. Since women have a variety of needs, we're lucky to have such an array of methods to choose from to fit all of our lifestyles. So let's see what you know about some popular forms of contraception.
Question 1 of 6
Which type of birth control is not estrogen-free?

Miss Sixty
Jil Sander
Rag and Bone
Yay 100% It really helps to have worked at the campus health center
On another note, the Nuvaring gets so uncomfortable if it's about to slip out! I don't usually let it get that close to coming out because I have to go adjust it! Ow!
15/6
26/6 I'm a champ! haha
3Just tried the nuva ring for the first time this past month....it came out though during sex! i guess i didnt put it in enough maybe?? I thought I put it as far as i could!

5lema - I've used NuvaRing for 4 years. You can actually remove it before sex, rinse and replace afterwards. (I asked two doctors about this - ask yours. It's okay as long as it's been less than 3 hours.) I've had it come out during sex before too - but not any other time. Don't worry about it, if it bothers you, just remove it beforehand but *don't* forget to rinse and replace!
65/6! Woohoo! I've had to look into other options because I start to have break through bleeding after a year. So, I've tried the majority of the birth control already.
7I finally got to switch from Depo (ugh, nightmare) back to the Pill. I'm so glad those three months of nonstop bleeding are over. Never again.
8jude C - nonstop bleeding for 3 months? That stinks. Thanks for the heads up.
9Beaner, it sucked.
I've been on Depo before without that happening. I don't what was different this time. I had switched back to Depo from the Pill, and really regretted that.
105/6 Woo! not bad.
I've never been on birth control before and I want to start, but the new gynecologist I tried sucked and didn't even give me any information. I'm going back to my old doctor again. I want to know all the facts about all the different types...not just get a quick "stupid people" lecture when I ask questions. I hate doctors sometimes. This last one gave me ONE option...pills. And offered one brand. I asked about other brands of pills but it was so hard to get info. out of him (he went around and around and never really answered my questions) that I just gave up asking about anything else.
11Yeah how about no implants, copper contraptions or goo filled cups? Durex makes THE best condom on the planet and with that you KNOW what you're dealing with.
12Everyone should know by now that all you have to do is have sex standing up and you won't get pregnant!!!!!! Gravity prevents this, and it's more fun too ;}
135/6 only because I have never wanted to use a diaphragm EVER. They creep me out for some reason, when you can just use a condom (and like I do, use oral contraceptives).
14Oh man, I've run the gamut. Nuvaring came out lots (in awkward ways too), Depo gave me permaperiod (not to mention it leaches the calcium out of your body, badly), the patch gave me contact dermatitis, and all sorts of other joys. It's been Microgestin for the past 3 years, and it ain't broke!
15I actually wanted to know which birth control has the lowest side effects? I just lost like 25 lbs and I don't want to gain it back. Ever since my fiancee got back from Iraq,I have came to the conclusion that I need it LOL. I am so out of touch... help LOL
16any recommendations for birth control for a 39 year old married woman? I was on the pill years ago (don't remember the brand) and had to stop because it was giving me migraines. My husband and I don't want to reproduce but condoms are getting old.
17I guess having the Mirena IUD has made me rusty on bc knowledge...
182/6 lol But i'm 16 and I'm french, so i didn't know half of the vocabulary used lol
194/6! But gosh some of that stuff is SCARY! I can't stand the thought of leaving plastic inside my body.. let alone copper..
20As for suggestions, I'm a Nuvaring user and love it! I haven't noticed any crazy side effects, and haven't gained weight. I've been on the pill (all kinds) as well as the patch (blood clot anyone?) and by far the Nuvaring is my favorite. As I've said before, it takes some getting used to, but I would recommend it about anything else.
