This is it! After inspiring the most talked-about impersonation since Will Ferrell's Bush, the Real Sarah Palin was on SNL last night, opening the show and showing up to Weekend Update (can I say she looked very comfortable behind that news desk?) She seemed the picture of a good sport and kind of in her element. Check out what happens when Alec Baldwin confuses Palin for Fey-lin. . . .
Alec Baldwin? Not so smooth at reading the cue cards, but he grabbed Palin's arm like they were old pals — and the moment where Palin and Fey-lin pass each other? I giggled. Plus! A Baldwin joke. What did you think? Did you stay up for SNL?
Here's the other sketch Sarah Palin was in, the Update rap. It does make me wish upon wishes that Palin had actually done the rap herself. Drill, baby Drilla!

I give her kudos for having the balls to go on.. I would have loved to have seen more participation. But that what you get when someone flies in right before the show with little time to prep.
Its always ballsy to participate with people who are doing a parody of you right to your face.
Good for her..but it wasn't Palin that was really funny but once again all of the not ready for prime time players and Baldwin and Fey that were doing all the heavy lifting.
But still good for her for jumping into the fray.
1The rap sketch wasn't funny but that was Amy's fault, not Palin's. Palin was funny in the open.
2I missed the opening.
"Its always ballsy to participate with people who are doing a parody of you right to your face." ...you have NO IDEA
The part I saw, the rap, wasn't funny. It was disturbing with Amy jumping all over the place...I was praying her water didn't break.
3I hate SNL AND Palin, but I really thought that clip was pretty funny. Also, hellooooooo Mark Wahlberg! That part was funny, too. I wish he'd come looking for MY dressing room.
4"The real one" barely did anything. Give me Tina Fey any day.
5I'll have Tina over her any day too! its was abit boring...i was more exited to see mark walberg there than her!
6I laughed hardest at Wahlberg showing up in the middle of it all, but it was a great open - the writers really did a great job of incorporating everything.
7I don't think the opening was funny at all. It was kinda awkward --awkward in the way that you know these people were talking about how stupid you are but all of a sudden - everyones all friends.
I wanted to see her do more with Fey. I think they over hyped it. BUT -- I give her credit.
8I think the opening was funny. That about it, it's not spectacular or anything, but just funny.
9My favorite was Update rap. That was funny. I'll miss Amy when she leaves SNL in November.
10I must be in the minority- I think the rap was the best part. Palin didn't do anything interesting or funny- she literally just showed face to prove she has a sense of humor.
11I thought they would have Sarah b* slap Tina...now THAT would have made me pee my pants laughing!!
(she's going to be Gov. of Alaska either way so who cares)
12I thought Palin was great, but overall it wasn't anywhere near funny. It would be nice if SNL went out and recruited some people who could do their format and be funny, or bring back the the 1st and 2nd generation of SNL, back when they were still funny.
13I wish they would have surprised her with a real press conference, now that would have been funny! (until the secret service got there).
...It is sad that she is okay for being known as too stupid to take questions.
14She had some mighty cahoones to go on the show. I don't know what she hoped to accomplish by going on it because they made fun of her (as always) and she just stood there and smiled.
15I am not a huge fan of SNL, but I loved it. I think it was a great idea for Palin to go on the show.
16I am not a huge fan of SNL, but I loved it. I think it was a great idea for Palin to go on the show.
17I think Palin let it go too far. I was laughing my a$$ off being an Obama supporter myself, but they dealt her some pretty low blows right to her face and she just took it. There was no witty comeback for her to throw into the mix. It's cool to be able to laugh at yourself to an extent, but to just stand there while Alec Baldwin calls you "that horrible woman." Hmmmmmm... probably not a good move. Amy's rap was hilarious, and the fact that she's super prego made it even funnier. I love her. Her kid is going to grow up laughing non-stop. And props to Palin for rocking out, but I think the way the whole thing played out made her look even more incapable of national leadership than she already did.
18I couldn't agree more ladyr!
19Amy Poehler...I'm Not Worthy!!!!! That rap was flippin' awesome!!! The political sketches they've done all year has been just the funniest I have seen in years! I can't stop watching everyone of them over and over and over again! Good stuff.
20Don't know who she was trying to appeal to here. Nobody's going to believe that she's 'down' because of this appearance. She looked mighty uncomfortable, that's for sure.
21On a shallow note though, I thought she looked just beautiful. Red is a good color on her.
22I'm not just saying this because I don't care for Palin but I'd rather look at Hillary in her pantsuits. At least Hillary jazzed her suits up with a cool necklace.
23One word: BORING.
Just nothing there... I really hoped that maybe she would redeem herself slightly with a little wit, but instead she just looked like she would rather have been anywhere but there.
She must have been feeling a little strange about being so thoroughly and unabashedly trounced when she's standing right there!
24It wasn't very funny.
I preferred the skit where Mark Wahlberg confronted Andy Samberg.
25It wasn't really that funny, but it was ok. I def find Tina Fey way more enjoyable. The fact that Palin would even come on this show just exemplifies so many of the things that are wrong with her as the VP choice and the ridiculous repulican campaign in general.
26the best part of the rap is when the todd palin impersonator points to alaska
otherwise it was the typical, surround someone who isn't funny with funny people to make them appear funny
but it was smart to put her on
27I agree with Molambert.
28desi-LOL...I didn't even realize that he was pointing at Alaska. Imma watch it for the 3rd time today!
29It's kind of like talking about celebrities on here, when you know they are reading it...sometimes I throw in a little sumin' sumin' extra just out of spite. But I'm sure Sarah was there to be on their territory, it was out of narcissism like celebrities sneaking in chat rooms to read up and diss each other. She was as funny as any other host/guest in the past few years...not much.
30The skit was okay...it wasn't necessarily Sarah's fault, the writing just wasn't that great. I liked Amy's rap though.
31I'm still trying to decide if it's cool that she went along with it, or really dumb for being a prop for them to insult. Alec didn't hold back anything.
32I think Alec Baldwin sounded so fake that I would not have been insulted either if it was me he called "that horrible woman"...in fact, he seemed more uncomfortable saying it than Palin was hearing it! The only part I enjoyed was Tina Fey's great talent at impersonating Palin, but the humor overall is pretty lame.
I'd take a dose of proper British humor over SNL any time!
33She's probably a lot like me, you look at the source of the insult.
34Alec was nicer to Sarah than he was to his daughter.
So it's not an insult really but more a foregone conclusion.
It wasn't hysterical imo.
I think Amy got the rap, because Palin couldn't pull it off.
I don't see alot difference in not doing it because its over the line, and sitting there bopping to it.
I was more excited about Marky Mark!
35are politicians ever REALLY funny when they go on there? not as far as I am concerned, I like that they show they can make fun of themselves and be good sports.
AMy got the Rap, because thats what they wrote in the first place, Palin was never supposed to do it. duh people.
36I thought it was OK--not that funny, but not a total disaster. Marky Mark was better. Also, is it just me, or did he look kinda wee next to Samberg?
37Even Fox news said that it was rumored Palin was supposed to do the rap, but she backed out of it.
38amy is totally awesome!
39Palin didn't do anything exciting but watching Amy rap and dance around was hysterical and its downright creepy how much Tina fey and palin look alike.
40I thought it was so predictable that she would go on there. I thought the opening was cute but only because of Tina.
Marky Mark was better by far.
41oh! I can't believe Marky Mark would stand by her... Good thing he's too hot for me to hate.
42Yea cause she might give him.....cooties?
43obama/biden 08
44I chuckled when i saw it but for me the highlight was mark wahlberg talking to the donkey...
45I think Tina Fey can be absolutely hilarious but this kinda let me down. I gotta say though, I just don't think SNL's that funny anymore.
46It was good
47I really didn't like her presence on the show. Just was not funny to me and didn't seem real.
48I thought it was pretty freaking awesome. A rather awkward and see-through attempt for Palin to portray herself as likable, and probably too late, but freaking awesome nonetheless!!!!
49It wasn't funny, and I thought it was super sketch when Amy said, "When I say Obama, you say Ayers! Obama!" and Sarah shouted "Ayers!"
