even though this is an old post and i just fell upon it, i feel the need to comment.

i find it sad that, on a site full of all types of beautiful women from all over the world, something like this is posted. the entire point of this post is to laugh and make fun of a woman that is overweight and dancing. is it really funny to laugh at someone because of what they look like? does it make everyone feel better about what they look like because they see someone that looks "worse" then them?

granted, i understand that she made the video, but does that give us the right to spread it around the world and ridicule her?

sadly, i assume i'm alone with these thoughts. i know most people would say if i don't think it's funny, then don't look but i can not help but voice my opinion. i have a good sense of humor, but making fun of someone like this is just wrong.

i'm disappointed.

Otaku, I appreciate your comment, but I disagree. There is more than one reading of this video.

First of all, I think she's in on the joke, which is the difference between this video and other videos of non-size-0 girls dancing for web cam. With her ironic expression and silliness, she owns this performance, in my opinion. She reminds me of performance artist Leslie from Leslie and the Lys and the lead singer of the Gossip, Beth Ditto. Leslie and Beth both stick their big bodies in people's faces, in part, to challenge the social pressure that girls have to starve themselves, but also to say, we're big girls, why can't we dance and have fun, too? Also, unlike the skinny, conventionally hot girls, she's kinda mocking the, "I have a hot body and all it's for is to turn guys on" song and dance.

Finally, everyone has a different reaction, based on their relationship to body ideals and their ideas of how women should behave. Some people think she should hide, because she's not thin, others think I should hide her, because she's not bright enough to know people are laughing. I give her more credit and chutzpah than that...

End of my sermon. Back to silliness..

i think anyone - slim or not - who puts on underwear with their whole bottom hanging out and posts it on the internet is not really confident with themselves. there's such a thing as being humble...

I disagree KRT, this girl looks like she is comfortable with her body..otherwise she'd of never put it on youtube for the whole world to see. Some one (slim or not) who isn't confident wont put herself out there to be ridiculed IMO.

this girl just wants attention which, im sure, she's not getting from anyone. She looks kinda lonely inspite of all that confidence.(okay, i have the right to judge because she wanted to be judge from the start anyway)
