Tina Fey, whose SNL career has been resurrected thanks to Sarah Palin laid down somewhat Baldwin-esque plans for post-election. That is, if McCain and Palin win. Fey says, “That lady is a media star. She is a fascinating person, she’s very likeable. She’s fun to play, and the two bits with Amy, that was super fun." Here's where the Baldwin comes in. She's firm on her deadline. “We’re gonna take it week by week. If she wins, I’m done. I can’t do that for four years. And by ‘I’m done,’ I mean I’m leaving Earth.” Oh.
Could the strong feelings have anything to do with her day job? Fey is on 30 Rock just dubbed by Gawker as the "most liberal show" on TV. Using, I'm sure, complicated math — they've placed a bunch of popular TV shows on a spectrum from most conservative (24) to most liberal (30 Rock). What's a happy medium show, politically? Oddly, South Park is parked right in the middle with what they call "its own brand of Libertarianism." Do the rankings seem off or right on? Any shows you'd add to the spectrum? I'm wondering where Lost would go. . . .

Um, Citizen, I'm getting this vibe that you don't like Fey. First you question us after her Palin SNL skits wondering it she's "fizzled out," and now you say these skits resurrected her career. I mean, 30 Rock may not have the widest viewership, but it is constantly winning awards, and just won best comedy at the Emmys; Fey won best comedy actress. She also just signed a $6M book deal, and her movie Baby Mama was pretty decent! I'm not saying these skits didn't help. And she's a comedian, so yeah, she is going to joke that instead of moving to Canada, she's leaving the earth. And, she can take me on her spaceship with her!
Lay.off.Tina!!!
1Maybe we should put Tina on suicide watch this election day?
2I mean, seriously, the GOP is STILL taking Palin seriously enough that people get offended by things a comedian says about her?! All of the Republicans I know think she is a nutcase.
3Snow, who is offended by what Fey said?

I think it was the "Oh." And the comparison to Alec freaking Baldwin that made it seem like Citizen was a little offended.
5And saying Fey's career had been resurrected thanks to Sarah Palin. Yeah, I don't think Sarah Palin single-handedly resurrected a dying career, but who knows, the woman is magical all right.
6I mean, it hurts my head to think about people still voting for McCain, but I get it. I just tend to think they are voting for McCain DESPITE Palin, not that people are still defending her.
7Ohh. No I made the Alec Baldwin parallel because he's on 30 Rock with her.. and he did say a little something about leaving. And just resurrected her SNL career, in that she'd left it is all. Not in general. No Tina Fey-hating, promise.
8Hahaha okay! Um, I'll just be putting away my stacks off Tina Fey fan photos and fanmail and turning 30 Rock off repeat and getting back to my life then...um, because I do have a life outside of vigorously defending Tina Fey on random internet blogs, really...I swear.
9Good, cause Tina Fey is my future wife, and I don't wanna hafta get up in ya face.
I love her. (Who doesn't?) and 30 Rock is definitely one of the funniest shows on TV. The episode where Jack "invaded" the ghetto baseball team and it was all parallel to the Iraq war was brilliant satire.
10I'm with her...well I might stay on earth, but I swear if McCain/PALIN (yeah I'm mostly looking at her) win the second I graduate I'm going to grad school abroad. Hell my college has an exchange program, maybe I'll leave the day they step foot in office.
"She's facing down Vladimir Putin and using the folksy stuff she learned at the hockey rink. It's absurd."
11Excuse me TS I believe you would be referring to MY future wife. Its legal in California, don't ya know
.
12Hmm. Not legal here yet. Tell you what, you can be her wife if I can be her best girlfriend who she sometimes makes out with while drunk.
13Eh... she's so... average as a comedian. Baby Mama wasn't anything to rave about, and most of the other characters on 30 Rock outshine her by far. I say good riddance, Ms. Fey!
14She is happily married. I do have a problem with her career being "resurrected" since she just won a few Emmy's recently for work she did way before any of us new Sarah Palin. I have recently started watching 30 Rock on Netflix and Hulu and it is amazing. I am addicted. Tina Fey is a genius. She does do a really good Palin. My father cannot tell them apart! I hope her limited weeks (hopefully) of impersonating Palin get people watching 30 Rock regardless of their views. They make fun of everyone, there is a liberal hint, but they make fun of that too!
15Mmmm...deal
.
Though I guess I am no longer a CA resident, but I'm sure Oregon will be coming around soon. That is if Portland/Multnomah County can trump the rest of state. Oh no...such a depressing line of thought.
16Foxie, she writes those other characters that outshine hers. And she's the "straight man" on that show, like Jason Bateman on Arr Dev. Her character's not supposed to be as funny, but her being there provides a reaction to the others makes them funnier.
But I do see how it's aliberal show. One of my favorite lines is when someone makes a comment about her patriotism and she says something like, "I love America! Just because I think we should all drive hybrid cars and gay people should be allowed to have babies doesn't mean I don't love America."
17Ah, Tina. I love that woman.
18Tina is my new girl crush
19Lost? Ben is a conservative for sure. He's cold hearted, only cares about money and furthering his own adgenda... oh yea... he's got neo-con splashed all over him!!
20I love Tina! and 30 Rock is the ish
21when does lost start again? one dose of heroes a week is not good enough for my serialized TV show addiction.
22Tina - Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.
23I think she meant that she was just back to do the Palin thing as a short-term kind of thing, and that she isn't interested in doing it long term. If they get elected, she doesn't want to come back and do Palin skits for the whole 4 year term.... and then she added a joke on the end.
My favorite line from 30 Rock: "Never go with a hippie to a second location!". So funny.
24Love her. Love that she can show how a woman can be smart and funny and so f-in talented and still have a family too. Plus she's hot, but that's just my girlcrush comin' through.
Also, do people have to bring liberalism/conservative-ism (conservatism? It's too early) onto TV shows? They're my last bastion of sanity from this election!!!
25when i was at the gym yesterday i was watching CNN or one of those networks and they were talking about how palin is really just like quayle - how she is perhaps being elevated faster than would be recommended and that's why she's so green.
as for Tina - i think that it has to be hard on her to constantly go back to SNL to do the sketches cause that isn't just hopping on set that night to do it - it's rehearsals all week and she does have a lot of other stuff going on. she's got her show- her books and then all the commercials that she does as well. i can understand how she's freaking out a bit about this .
26hmm why is the Hills Conservative...
27The list is obviously very tongue-in-cheek. Anyone with half a brain knows that conservatives don't like to go out and blindly spend money and that the vast majority of conservatives have nothing against homosexuals.
That being said, where's ER on this list! I feel their liberal agenda every single time I watch. Also, I would have put Mad Men further left.
28What about Boston Legal? That's pretty far left. Brothers and Sisters? Mad Men is a difficult one for me. Sometimes I think it might be bent toward the left but other times I'm not sure.
29Brothers and Sisters is SO left; I forgot about it, Bren! Even the people who are supposedly Republicans spout off liberal ideas on a regular basis!
30To me, I think Mad Men is far left because all of the conservative characters are mocked, but in a really nuanced way. I could definitely see how someone could disagree, though.
31My aunt won't watch Mad Men because she feels it is slamming the time period. I'd be interested to know what other baby boomers think of the show. The show shows how far we've come and how far we've slipped, in my opinion.
32My Mom loves it! But, I too would be curious to know what others of that generation think.
33I've never really watched The Hills, but the clips I've seen were both hilarious and nonpartisan. Can someone explain why it's a conservative show?
34The reasoning in the article was that it's full of rich people who spend money with abandon, Heidi Montag is a Republican, and there are no gay people on the show.
35Seems reasonable enough.
36I was thinking about Brothers and Sisters being pretty far left too...then I went to lunch and forgot to post
37Yeah both Heidi Montag and Spencer publicly endorsed McCain, and LC is from the OC, which is pretty conservative, and everyone else kind of looks like Elisabeth Hasslebeck!
38I actually cant stand her! Am i in the minority or what?
