It seems that most of you feel being late is inconsiderate, and it sends a disrespectful message to those waiting for you. I happen to agree — I'm always on time — but I have friends that are late no matter what, even when they give themselves extra time. I've grown accustomed to it though, and I just consider it their little quirk. Of course, there are always exceptions to the rules, so do tell, are you the person who's usually running late or do you tend to be right on time, if not a little early?

I'm usually early. I get terrified that I won't make it on time so I go early to things. It's only a problem if it's a meeting where i don't know people and I'm awkward
1Always early or right on time. If I saw I'm going to be somewhere at a certain time then I'm there.
2Oh, on time, here.
I hate the feeling of being late. All panicky.
Not to say I never am, I'm not perfect, but I try to avoid it as well as I can.
3I am always on time, and almost always early. I can't stand being late to something and walking in awkwardly, plus I think it is completely disrespectful to be late when you say you'll be somewhere at a certain time.
4My kids make me late constantly...but I hate it. I just feel out of control when I'm rushing or late.
5i become a wreck when im running late.
6if i have to be somewhere at a specific time, i plan my time perfectly so no one has to wait for me. and i DESPISE it when people dont return that favour. i get furious, and then they're all llike "calm down" grrrrrr
I'm late sometimes, but I always try my best to be somewhere on time. It depends on the situation really. If it's for work and I have to be there for 9, then showing up at 9:05 is not okay. If it's plans with friends " be there around 6" then 6:05 is acceptable there, I think; 6:30, not so much.
7I am always on time and every once in a while I have being late. I have friends that tend to be late, but they are my friends and I think friends are entitled to do that or a date. If a man can wait to have date with you then he can wait that long for the date to show up. Now if it is a job interview or anything, but your friends then that is a big no no in my book.
8I'm early 99% of the time. I've been friends with one woman for over ten years. I was late ONCE for a get-together. With my other friends, I've never been late. I'm not exaggerating.
I think it was the way I was raised. Everybody in my immediate family is on time for appointments and deadlines. It's how we operate.
9I am ALWAYS early or right on time, being late makes me really nervous and annoyed so I tend to be overly early. Annoying sometimes but I am very OCD about it.
I have friends that are constantly late, and they are my friends so I have been forced to learn to accept it. It still really annoys me sometimes though, so now I tell them a meet time at least 15 min earlier than the real one, It works like a charm!
10A few minutes early. If something unexpected happens and I'm going to be running more than 3 minutes late, I call. Three minutes is my cutoff time -- if we say we will be meeting at 5:30, and my ETA will be 5:33 or later -- I call. I completely understand that things happen, but I just find it to be SO rude and inconsiderate when people can't be bothered to pick up the phone and call just to let you know, especially since everyone has a cell phone these days. I have a friend who can run SO late (we're talking 45 minutes - an hour late) and doesn't call -- I never know what to think. Is she just late, or did something serious happen? She's had a stalker in the past with actual police involvement -- did the stalker find her? Or was she just taking an extra long time drying her hair, and too lazy to call and let me know that she was going to take an extra hour?
11I always try to be on time, and I usually am pretty good about it.
12never, ever, late. seriously, i can drive the 500 miles to my dads house and be on time. my husband, on the other hand, thinks being on time for a 7:00 movie means you pull into the theather parking lot at 7-ish. long going point of contention.
13I'm rarely late and if I am late it is because plans weren't made correctly. Either I'm right on time or a little bit early.
14I'm usually a few minutes late for everything!
15Even if I leave out the house an hour early. There's a damn train, bus or car accident getting in the way.
normally I am early...
16I'm always at least 10 minutes early. I don't mind if others are 5 minutes late, but 10-15 minutes late (consistently) really bothers me - it's one of my pet peeves to be waiting around for people. I was always taught that to be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, and to be late is unacceptable. So even when I'm on time, it makes me uncomfortable.
17Right on time or 5 minutes tardy, usually.
18Most of the time, I'm a couple of minutes early. My boyfriend and I brag about the fact that wherever we go, whatever the distance, we're always there pretty much exactly on the dot. Thank God he's like me, because I can't stand people who're more than 5-10 minutes late.
19I seem to always be late, no matter how early I leave. It sucks.
It also doesn't help that I live in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by schools, train tracks, and freaking trucker areas (I hate the sticks)...
20Always early. I have a friend whose entire family seems to be set on a different clock, and it drives me nuts!
21Consistently late and ashamed of it. I don't know what to fix - I'm always tripped up by leaving just 5 minutes too late to catch the train. I don't have a car and my neighborhood buses are really off schedule... I know, excuses, excuses.
22I just love the fact that this picture is obviously from Toronto
haha
But used to be anal and 30min early to everything... now, "on time"/5min either way
23If I'm going somewhere without my husband (work, the doctor's office, etc.), I'm always early. If I go with my husband, we're almost always a couple of minutes late.
24depends. i'm usually between half an hour and 15 minutes early, especially for stuff like work. elsewhere i'm usually a little early or on time, or like 5 minutes late.
25I always try to be early if not on time! I hate when people are late and you end up havign to wait for them...it shows they have no regards for your time or how it makes you feel.
26I always push the limits of on time, but I try to be early. In my job, it is more like a window to arrive (for instance, no later than 9) so I am always here by then, but I try to come in at 8.
I have heard this rule from countless managers "No one much cares as none can predict the traffic or metro delays". If I know I have a meeting in the morning early, I will often times arrive 30 mins earlier than i needed because I built in traffic/metro delays but there were none when there usually are.
27I'm always early for doctor's appointments and out of work engagements but when it comes to work I am either right on time or a few minutes late no matter what I do. I just hate to get out of my warm snuggly bed to go to work in the morning. Ok ok, I am making excuses. If I tried harder I could probably get to work earlier.
28I am someone who tends to run late, no matter how much I try to plan in advance or leave early something ALWAYS happens and I end up late.
29I'm always early or on time. My sister is chronically late so I'm always getting mad at her.
30I'm always right on time or a few minutes early.
31Early or right on time..I feel like I get physically sick if I am running late sometimes lol..my boy on the other hand is ALWAYS late EVERYWHERE (except if we are together and I make him hurry his booty up)
32It's VERY rare that I'm ever late. I prefer to get to places early, or right on time.
33I think a lot of these posts should be polls- i just want to quickly see what percentages answer what!
34personally i'm ALWAYS late, although i ALWAYS am trying to be early lol
Always early...to work, nights out with friends, concerts, dinner, you name it. If there's ever a chance of me being late (due to traffic, or something), I call whoever I'm meeting. Being late stresses me out. Plus, I think being chronically late sends a terrible message...like "my time is more important than yours."
35Early usually or right on time.
36if it's somewhere i don't know i get there 15 minutes early or half an hour so i won't be hella late.
otherwise, i'm right on time. you tell me to be at your house at a certain time, i am THERE right at that time, and even when im 2 minutes late i get mad haha.
37Always, ALWAYS early! I have to leave plenty of time for traffic and the other little things that come up.
38I'm always on time or slightly early.. I HATE HATE HATE when people are late and make me wait on them, that's so rude!!
39I'm always early ... I don't believe in Asian Standard Time.
40Since I've been responsible for my OWN timeliness, I can count on one hand the number of times in my LIFE that I've been late, and they were ALL caused by emergencies.
I am punctual to a fault. If someone says to me, "The party starts at 8" you can bet that at 7:45 I'm sitting in my car waiting for it to be 7:55 so I can go in.
It comes from the fact that my Mother couldn't be on time to save her LIFE when I was a kid. We were late to everything, church, school, meetings with teachers etc. I absolutely hated it, and vowed that it would not be me. To this day, if you want my Mother somewhere, you need to tell her to be there half an hour to an hour before the ACTUAL time, and then you MIGHT get lucky and she'll arrive on time.
I love my Mother to death, but her punctuality is not one of her strong points. LOL
41i'm always early when i'm trying to get somewhere or meet with someone. i think that being late really is rude and i can't stand for it. my boss is ALWAYS late and it really upsets me because there are times that we'll travel to meetings together, and that means that i'm sitting there longer waiting for her, and then i'm given the same looks of being late as she is when i know that i'm not the one that caused us to be late.
42usually on time to pretty much anything
43Late late late. Even though I give myself two hours beforehand to get ready.
I don't have a car and don't live near a bus stop so I rely on my parents to give me lifts, if I need to be somewhere at a certain time I let my parents know as soon as possible and remind them when I can. I always end up late though, because mum's reading the paper or dad'son the phone.
Only time when I'm not late is when I go to work!
