I heard a standup comedian the other night who said that vegans were the last group of people it was socially acceptable to make fun of. "Hell," he continued, "even vegetarians laugh at them: 'Have an egg or some dairy, man, live a little!'" So this news clip should come as no surprise. A reporter discusses the rise of a vegan movement whose adherents claim they won't have sex with anyone who eats animal-based products. As she's saying this with a perplexed look on her face, her co-anchor busts out laughing. (Clearly, these people do not live in California, "the land of fruits and nuts.")

Ya know..
I just have this feeling nobody would really want to have sex with these guys anyways. Call me cruel but...they sound about as fun as a bowl of wet cereal.
1I don't see what's not funny about not wanting to support animal cruelty. Plenty of people SAY they love animals, only a few people live it.
2My name is foxie and I only have sex with veg*ans! Woowoo!
...and they are wondering why there are so many singles are out there...dating just got even more complicated.
Dear foxie, your triple negation sentense confuses me a bit...but I'm all for animal rights!
3Eep! Ignore the second "not"!
4I was too hot and bothered by the thought of sexin' up some vegans that I just could not be bothered to proof-read my post, I guess. =X
5So I'm guessing there's no "going downtown" for vegansexuals as they don't eat meat?
6Dude I'm so using this excuse next time I'm hangin out with some guy and I'm not feeling it. Sorry, cant hook up, I'm vegansexual
7Good call 356UIK! That's a great idea.
8"dead animal carcasses"?
Right, because the carbon atoms from animals are "different" from those in plants.
9They're different in that one harbored a life and feelings and emotions and one didn't. Why are people so threatened by vegetarianism? I shall never understand.
10Oh Lord !!! This is funny. I always wondered if there were vegetarians who wouldn't "go downtown".
11I think people have a total right to be vegan if they desire. I'm not, but I would call myself a person who focuses on organic, and ethical food regardless of the type of food it is, including meat.
That being said, this is GIGGLE sugar, and I was obviously being tounge-in-cheek.
12I think the newscasters were being a little excessive with their rudeness. Maybe they are from a relatively small area, but I know around here, there are just as many meat-eaters as there are vegans AND there are plenty of people who won't kiss someone if that person is a meat eater! Which, I think, is completely fine.
13Am I the only one who giggled about as much as the newscaster? It just sounds silly. Really silly, but hey, takes different strokes to move the world.
14I agree with literatured. It's perfectly acceptable to avoid relationships with people who consume meat products, as it's acceptable to avoid relationships with people who smoke cigarettes.
Kissing a meat eater after they've just eaten tri-tip is about as disgusting as kissing smoker after they've just had a cigarette.
Plus, those who choose a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle are disposed to higher intelligence levels. So, those who choose to form an intimate bond with only vegans and/or vegetarians are simply just weeding out the buffoons.
15I tend to find vegetarians sexier than non-vegetarians, but I've dated omnivores as well as vegans.
