Dating can be quite exhausting although some enjoy the process much more than others. Asking the right questions is key to deciphering whether or not you have a connection with your date and if you could be a compatible match with the person sitting opposite you. So ladies, do tell, what is your favorite question to ask on a first date?

What is your favorite type of music. i have found I don't have as much in common with men who don't listen to the same types of music as me.

Why don't you wear the face you have when I am not around?
"So, where do YOU hide the bodies?"
2I ALWAYS ask about his parents. How a man views his mother and father tells a lot about what type of person he is.
I also ALWAYS ask about his religious beliefs, because spiritual compatibility is very important to me.

3how do you like your eggs in the morning?
just kidding i really like tor's question!! i dont know its been so long since i have had a first date.
4The first time my husband and I talked, he asked me what my dreams were for my life...I knew from that instant he was different because he was venturing away from the typically shallow first date questions.
5I have no idea, I havent been on first date in so many years but I am single now and going on one next week....uuhhhh scary!
6Hope you have fun going out kendalheart
7I guess back in my dating days I would usually ask what the guys plans were for when he finished college.
I ask "what was the best thing that happened to you today", it keeps the conversation positive, and you get to gather information about what makes them happy.
8I agree 100% with cgmaetc, you always gotta ask about the parents to see if he's a family man or not.
"Party like a rock star, pound like a porn star, play like an all star!"
9I like to keep things light and fun on the first date, so no deliberate background checks or anything like that unless they come up naturally.
I LOVE Toronado's question and wish I were single so I could use it!
But a favorite of mine was 'Do you have an innie or an outie". That often took an interesting turn.
10i'm all for the music question since i'm a big nut about it. i also ask the 420 compatibility question because if they're not into it or have strong feelings against it, they're probably not right for me! not to say i do it all the time, but some people are really iffy about it and i think that extends into them being uptight about other things (thus they would not approve of a lot of things i do!).
11lol Toronado - that's excellent!
I try to steer clear from the interrogation style first date. But if I have to pick a question it would be: Are you reading anything interesting?
12What is your occupation?
A girl who has occupation and hobbies have goals in life, those are the KEEPERS.
13i like stefapie's question.. it's good way to keep the conversation in the present moment without getting too heavy at the on-set of the date. I like to ask questions that get him to open up about abstract ideas, like "if you had to be one card in a deck, which would you be"? or "what are your thoughts on the african dung beetle"? though the latter question is more of a third date question.. i couldn't be with someone who doesn't stimulate me mentally and get me to think outside the box, and i would hope it's vice versa as well.
14I ask him how many outfits he tried on before he found the perfect outfit for out date. I like my man dressed well and to look like he put some thought into it!!
15"so, how was you day dear?" was what i usually started with. sort of as a joke once we were seated at a restaurant with a drink. told me a lot about them right off; how much they would open up, if they had a sense of humor, if then would go on-and-on-and-on or ask me the same. and if they were interesting and funny.
if someone had asked me about my dreams on the first date there would not have been a second. i kept things light and easy.
16" What's your favorite thing(s) to do that you don't get to do often enough?"
17I would first of all ask him about his religious beliefs because that's very important to me.
