Get ready, 9 p.m. EDT, it's the second verse, same as the first? Decidedly not my friends, (no drinking yet!). But given that it's a town-hall-style debate, a format McCain is quite comfortable with, I expect the "my friends" to come flying, so prepare yourselves.

So the scoop: of the six million questions submitted online (!!!) only 15-20 will be answered. The candidates will answer questions from uncommitted voters and while the candidates have agreed not to include follow-up questions, though moderator Tom Brokaw hasn't himself agreed to cut them out. Most of the stories today have underscored McCain's need for a "game changer" given his favored status in the format, and his need to reverse Obama's gain in the polls.
McCain has, with a grin, signaled he's ready to shuck the gloves, and while the Obama campaign acknowledges his competence in a town hall, they're readying their gloves as well. They said, "I hope during the course of that he also has time to speak to the state of our economy, which is in deep trouble right now. But we are prepared for a very aggressive debate."
Are you prepared? Any predictions on the relative game-changeriness? Who's watching the debate with us?

I AM! This debate should be very interesting given the change in tactics. I just home McCain can stop using his negativeness to distract from the issues. This close to the election you need to figure out a way to make people get behind you instead of just using smear tactics. Even though town hall style is McCain's favored format, I'm mostly hoping the people that ask him questions ask him tough question on the issues. We shall see...
1I am!
2I hope it doesn't get negative too, but if it does I hope Obama squashed the terriorist rumors, and the fact that he's not American enough! Because Palin's no angel when it comes to " I love my Country":
Alaska First!

How do y'all watch and type and read all at the same time? I am not that great a multi-tasker!
10Hypno, are you married? I didn't know that, is he a cutie patootie too?
11There will be one more debate after this..
October 15, 2008: (Tickets) Presidential debate with domestic policy focus, Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY
12ahhhh thats right!
13I just want both canidates to keep the attacks in check and discuss issues and issues.. with a side of serious outlined answers to serious questions regarding the economy, job creation, environment, housing crisis, medical insurance and foreign policy.. in other words..issues.
Enough bullsh*t.. lets just for the sake of argument accept what they are saying about each other and then disregard it.. assume Obama is a patriotic terrorist ringing the bell of socialism and McCain an Alzheimer's victim and hot headed sleaze and lets get past it to the issues.
I want to see a real debate not a celebrity death match. Is it too much to hope for?
14hypno you should be using those tennis balls under your feet! they give you a great massage!
15I'm here. This is going to be fun. What are the drinking terms again?
16Well I wouldn't say married but I'm hitched at the heart GS. Hausfrau you just reminded me about my foot bath with a massager in it. I need to pull that out of the closet.
