Forget Super Tuesday, guessing when Hucakbee and Hillary will drop out, the seemingly never-coming Obama VP text, Obama's massive speech at Invesco, or waiting for John McCain's next surprise — tonight's vice-presidential debate could be the most anticipated event of this campaign! We have no idea what will ensue when the action starts at 9 p.m. (EDT), but we'll be here commenting during the whole thing. Please join us! We're dying to know what you think!

Want to do some predebate prep? The New York Times asked people with knowledge of the vice presidency and the candidates to suggest questions they’d like to hear. And if you're heading to or hosting a debate festivity, PartySugar has all the tips you need. I know I will be filling out my Palin Bingo Card throughout the face-off, and depending on how things go, a VP debate drinking game might be just what you need.

I sure wish we could comment on the thread below this one.
I just may play that drinking game, although one would probably end up pretty drunk
From the bottom of my heart... I wish painful death upon Biden and Palin for interfering with "The Office." I really do.
I am torn about watching this: I want to watch because I am genuinely interested, and because I want to watch Biden slaughter her... but I really do not think I can tolerate her rhetoric and annoying voice for the duration of the debate. Just watching seconds-long clips of her interview with Katie Couric on the web and The Daily Show is excruciating enough.
I'm here. I have some baked penne and chardonnay. I have to warn you though...I might have to turn it off. I get really uncomfortable listening to her.
I can't wait for the debate! I hope she has a meltdown. How fun would that be?
I'll be watching, but we watch on the computer, so I won't be commenting on it until after
We're headed to a bar to watch. It's more fun with cheering and booing crowds. But Im curious to see the comments later.
I'm with Heidi, I'm not sure the pain is worth it.
I'll be watching. Let's go Joe!
ha ha im with heidi too well and steph
I'll be watching with the family -- 3 generations for card carrying Liberal-Feminist women -- should be fun. If funny to hear old ladies curse.
dream that sounds like fun!!
I'm DVRing it. I might watch tonight, but I might wait until tomorrow so I can watch it with my guy.
And I'm seriously considering that bingo
I'm watching - hoping I don't end up with a headache from all of the back and forth. Besides no Greys Anatomy so what else do I have better to do
You just made me wish my grammy was still around to watch this with. She was a suffragist, much to her father's chagrin.
There is way too much on tv tonight! Between the playoffs, the debates, and the Office it's going to be a long night.
Oh yea, and in case it gets lost in the frenzy this evening, McCain just pulled out of Michigan. Completely conceded the whole state to Obama. Not spending another penny on ads, mailings, etc. Canceled the visit he was supposed to make next week.
And that's even before the VP debate, which hardly anybody thinks is going to help his campaign.
naw-naw-naw -- naw-naw-naw -- hey, hey, hey -- GOODBYE!!!!!!!
I'll definitely be watching. I'm very curious to watch the tip-toe dance.
I am going to watch but since they cut out the part where the candidates interact with each other, it might be boring. They are both basically going to be recycling talking points.
I'm ready and fired up!
Woo hoo!
"They are both basically going to be recycling talking points."
Very true. And each side will think their person did better.
Exactly, haus.
where can i watch it online?!
i'm definitely going to watch, and even more so now that the rumors of Biden STEPPING DOWN after the debate to be replaced by hillary - so i'm not sure what's going to happen, but i will watch everything from now until who knows when to see what transpires.
ilanac?! WHAT where did you hear this?!
If the VP candiate steps down, it will be death to the ticket. Obama would basically be handing to presidency to McCain and vice versa. I don't think we are going to see a personal change. Especially Biden for Clinton while Obama is doing so well in the polls.
I don't know if I can watch and comment at the same time, but I'll try.
CYL if you go to CNN.com it's right at the top of the page, the live feed to watch.
Biden better not step down.
thanks Citizen..I am in class...a very boring class about public speaking...lol...it would be better to watch them talk I think..learn more from Bide and Palin than my prof...lol
Ooh, does she have hair down? I just saw a pic of her en route.
i've seen it on any number of sites, and i think that the interesting thing is that they are talking about this 2 hour long meeting that obama had with clinton (bill not hill) the other day, and at the time the only thing that we heard was that bill wasn't overly fond of obama, yet now the tune is changing when there's a chance that things might go in an interesting direction.
i'm not one for speculation - but i think that it would be a good move.
Step down for health reasons, Biden will.
Just before the end, vice presidential candidate, Hillary will be.
LMAO organic.....
Damn IF Biden is really stepping down for health reasons... (legit reasons) and Hillary is in for VP I'd totally be psyched.. I love Hilary..she should have gotten the nomination anyways! She had the popular vote!
That would be crazy cool... I would love to see an Obama/Clinton ticket or and Clinton/Obama ticket.
i like that. i had an aneurysm that i knew about for years before i had surgery on it 2 years ago, so i guess that it could happen, but who knows. it could be a rumor that they seeded in to the media in the hopes of throwing the GOP off it's game.
Here we gooooooo!!!
the question is though - would she wait to run on her own after 8 years in office or would she split off and do it 2012?
i would like to say.. my fellow political geeks and dorks...we are in for a fun evening
YAYYY
It's on....
I'm so nervous.
Is this the official debate thread?
i can't wait - palin is a great speaker off the cuff, and biden's been digging it deep lately.
Yep californiagirlx7, welcome!
i think in an ideal world...Obama should set up Hilary in charge of Foreign Affairs...that way she can go and 'heal the world' and take care of some sh*t get hte expereince and then run for President again.
can i call you joe, huh?
Ohhh she seems nervous. Chattery.
oh jeez biden is coughing already.
yes cal
