I saw the interview with Couric. There's another video clip where Katie Couric asks her about her foreign policy experience and her proximity to Russia....it was not good.
1I really just wanted sarah to put Katie in a headlock
2Somewhat painful? You're being generous, Liberty.
3Palin certainly bolstered the notion that McCain wants debates postponed because she's not ready.
4It is smart of the Obama campaign to have a plan B so it isn't a complete loss for the school that invested so much in this event.
5I think I have watched all three of Sarah's interviews now (Charlie, Sean and Katie) and for all that talking..did she say anything? Its all fluff and talking points but not really meaningful or deep talking points and I wonder did I learn anything at all new about Palin or her position?
She seems really out of touch..though that could be because she has basically been sequestered by the McCain campaign.
6I wonder how much it cost to redo the penny?
7Palin spent 10 minutes to say absolutely nothing. It's like seeing Caitlin Upton 20 years from now.
8I would love to hear someone say the Sarah Palin is the right person for Vice President and possibly President of U.S. of A. Honestly, I would to hear someone say that.
She says she can list of examples of why McCain is better for America and then says "I'll TRY to find some and bring 'em to ya". What the f*ck?? I'll say it again, what the f*ck! I'm past finding this funny, I've moved on to anger.
9I cannot wait to see Biden wipe the floor with her!
10Where's Citizen today? These posts are all...interesting.
11I love the part when she says something about Alaska protecting America because "see can Russia from her house." Like if Alaska wasn't there Big Bad Russia would have invaded us by now.
12I can see a KFC from my house. Therefore, I also know all of the Colonel's secret recipes. Mmmm, herbs and spices!
13I've watched all of her interviews. I don't think I can watch them anymore. They make me extremely uncomfortable.
14Okay so I just watched the Palin interview and Yikes! That was just awful. I wouldn't want her to debate or talk to reporters either.
And Liberty, I like your posts.
15wade, you know she never said that right? That that is from SNL.
16I live across the street from an airplane pilot. According to Ms. Sarah Palin I have enough experience to fly airplanes. Well I'm applying right now and if I don't get that job my interviewer is obviously sexist.
Wish me luck!!!!
17Let me explain. They make me uncomfortable because she doesn't know what she's doing. It would be borderline hilarity if it weren't for the fact that this is extremely serious. We have some real problems. We need the absolute best minds working on this. We need the best. This woman is not the best that we have. I know more about economic policy than she does and I'm just an actor. It's preposterous.
18GS please, every time they ask her about foreign policy she says that Alaska is close to Russia, like that is supposed to mean something.
19Actually isn't that a Cindy McCain quote? Isn't that what she said of Palin's foreign policy? I don't think I have ever read anything where Palin said that.
20That was really uncomfortable to watch, why did McCain pick her again? Still don't understand that move, there are so many other better choices I'm sure....right?
21Here are comments on Russia:
COURIC: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?
PALIN: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and on our other side, the land-- boundary that we have with-- Canada. It-- it's funny that a comment like that was-- kind of made to-- cari-- I don't know, you know? Reporters--
COURIC: Mock?
PALIN: Yeah, mocked, I guess that's the word, yeah.
COURIC: Explain to me why that enhances your foreign policy credentials.
PALIN: Well, it certainly does because our-- our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia--
COURIC: Have you ever been involved with any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?
PALIN: We have trade missions back and forth. We-- we do-- it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where-- where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is-- from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to-- to our state.

HF, I agree with you. We have real problems, and it does freak me out, and I also feel kind of badly because I had respect for John McCain (well, ok, John McCain 2000) even though I'm not a conservative, and now I just feel like he's really underestimated the American people...
23She said that Russian planes fly over Alaska. That's her experience. And also Alaska keeps an eye on Russia, whatever that means.
24COURIC: Explain to me why that enhances your foreign policy credentials.
PALIN: Well, it certainly does because our-- our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia--
This is what I was talking about.
25Oi, that is painful to read...I don't know if I can handle the video. You know, I think I have as much foreign policy experience as Sarah Palin. I mean I'm from Washington which shares a border with Canada, so I'm like, totally, qualified.
26Thanks for the sources guys!
27Thanks for posting liliblu, now I'm 100% clear that Russia is near Alaska. I'm glad she stated that four times or I don't think I would have gotten that.
28She also tries to explain how "Putin rears his head" into Alaskan air space.
29kas--If I recall, the whole "She knows about foreign policy because she's next to Russia" came from someone on Fox News, and instead of disregarding that comment, the McCain camp somehow thought that had some merit, and the next thing I remember, Cindy McCain's using that defense in an interview on TV, and...yeah, all of a sudden this comment was somehow made to, uh, be used as "evidence" of her "foreign policy experience"? That's what I recall...someone correct me if I'm wrong.
30Yech, that sounds nasty!
31Seriously, does anyone else see the posts today are, to put it lightly, one sided? And all from Liberty?
32Palin said she can see Russia from parts of Alaska in her interview with Charlie Gibson.
GIBSON: What insight into Russian actions, particularly in the last couple of weeks, does the proximity of the state give you?
PALIN: They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.
GIBSON: What insight does that give you into what they're doing in Georgia?
PALIN: Well, I'm giving you that perspective of how small our world is and how important it is that we work with our allies to keep good relation with all of these countries, especially Russia. We will not repeat a Cold War. We must have good relationship with our allies, pressuring, also, helping us to remind Russia that it's in their benefit, also, a mutually beneficial relationship for us all to be getting along.
33...so, to be fair, I don't think that notion *started* from the McCain camp directly (again, correct me if I'm wrong, anyone), but I don't think that's exactly something they should have clung to.
34It swings both ways. Remember during the convention when practically every post was from Citizen?
35GS - What's one-sided about posting an interview with a VP candidate and a major news outfit? Did I miss something?
36Putin rearing his head sounds nasty, you Em, do not and you are correct: Steve Doocey was the first Fox person I heard say it, and I heard Cindy McCain say it on CBS. To her credit, Laura Bush did not say it.
37My, did I say this one post. I am looking at the day as a whole.
38Citizen was posting more in the morning (just checked briefly), but as far as content goes, I'm not sure if that matters in terms of the poster...
39Wow don't knock Liberty. Maybe Citizen has the day off or something.
40Oh ok, but you said it in this post. My misunderstanding.
41DOOCEY! That's the guy's name. I knew it sounded goofy.
Or, Doocey. Sorry, bad
joke.
Thanks steph.
42She's pretty good at memorizing talking points and skirting topics she doesn't want to discuss. She seems more qualified to be the White House Press Secretary than VP.
43I'm not knocking liberty. i am making an observation. And I think everyone who has posted more than a day on this site knows that both citizen and liberty haven't hidden their political affiliations. I am simply noticing a trend in todays posts. It is a platform for liberal slaps on the back or collective mccain palin bashing and every person who is a conservative has to come into a neutral forum immediately on the defense. Just seems odd. That is all I am stating. No knock of liberty.
44You know what really made my skin crawl?
Couric: But he's been in Congress for 26 years. He's been chairman of the powerful Commerce Committee. And he has almost always sided with less regulation, not more.
Palin: He's also known as the maverick though, taking shots from his own party, and certainly taking shots from the other party. Trying to get people to understand what he's been talking about - the need to reform government.
Oh thank you Sarah Palin... I haven't seen those commercials yet calling McCain a maverick. Would you like to answer the question asked now, please?
45GS - seems like you aren't a fan of this Palin interview.
46So, when you said all the posts were one sided and from Liberty, that's not knocking her? That's..a compliment?
47That's not what I'm not a fan of.
48Amybdk, that's her famous tap dancing routine. Her and Savion Glover should do a number together.
49[Where's Citizen today? These posts are all...interesting.]
You mean these post are mostly pro-democrat.
