I know, I know, I'm voting how I'm voting but gosh darn it if my sense of humor isn't bipartisan as all heck. I cannot stop laughing at this. Someone (with a lot of time on his/her hands and a fair amount of dialed-in-edness to the whole campaign) has created a Twitter account for Sarah Palin, called FakeSarahPalin.
OK, there are a fistful of caveats and disclaimers here, the largest of which is . . . this is clearly created to poke fun at Palin, but the Twitter-speak, cramming that info into the allowed 140 characters, and overall sense of good fun made me read the whole thing. And whether one agrees with the opinions raised or not, I think at this juncture in the campaign, a little bit of levity could be just what the doctor ordered. Like in the midst of Yahoo-gate, the Tweet, "Ummmm why can't I log in to my yahoo account??!" Tee hee, right? Right?

Now matt damon is going to quote this one the way he quoted the farce where the blogger talked about dinosaurs.

2That is hysterical! I love the short hand... I doubt the real Sarah Plalin knows what "PLZ" means!
Speak English Iraqis!!!
3wtf! my comment got flagged for no reason!
4This is stupid.
5beautiful.
6the more this website becomes about promoting a certain agenda, the less it makes me want to keep using it. it's one thing to have a biased opinion - not a problem with that. you're a blogger and i'm curious to hear what other people think. it's another to be spiteful. this is supposed to be a fun but informative place. i also am sure that if some celebrity named one of their kids bristol, piper, willow, trig or track, it would be trendy and not mocked. please be nicer.

Good luck finding someone without an agenda! Come back and let us know how that works out.
I think this is funny. Half of them are dumb, but some of them are hilarious.
And speaking of text speak, one of my bosses texts me and uses abbreviations, like "WIll u call me Monday? After 10 would b best." and another just send e an email that started, "OMG!" It cracks me up since they are both not old, but a good ten years or so on me, they are real grown ups.
8someone truly does have too much time on their hands to do this but i'm not surprised that it's happened. knowing that so may people do the same for celebs - it's kind of an interesting twist to it. i wonder how her camp reacted to it when they first found out?
it may be all in good fun, but i don't know when you can really say that a line has been crossed.
9jessi - celebrity baby names are made fun off to no end also - apple, zuma, sunday rose, etc!
also, i think citizen and liberty do a pretty good job of presenting multiple viewpoints.
10jessi, Trig & Track are stupid monikers no matter who uses them (but I like the name Bristol -- despite my hatred for teenage moms! -- and Willow & Piper are normal names).
Seriously, when I learned Palin's baby was named trig I thought she was making some sort of joke about his down syndrome (trig = tri or three = trisomny 21).
Also, making fun of Palin is just so EASY -- which is why we all shamelessly indulge. I say rock on!
11"Someone with a lot of time on her hands" has also created a Fake Sarah Palin Blog:
http://whatssarahthinking.com
including the following Sarah's Ten Commandments:
* Alaska always comes first
12* Marriage is an act of God, between a man and a woman
* Nature is for us to shoot, and mine, and timber, and fish, and drill
* Sarah is always right, after God
* We shall banish books that soil our children's souls
* We shall listen to God's will, over science
* We shall not let the wolves, and the whales, and the salmons, and the polar bears, stand in the way of oil
* We shall not teach sex education to our children, but abstinence instead
* We shall spread the gospel of creation
* We shall support life at all costs, even when the unborn child is a product of rape or incest
My only problem with a fake blog like this is that there will be people who will take it as truth, no matter how idiotic they are. They might be funny, but I'm not going to give them credit by "hitting" that website.
13I'd maybe think it was funny if I had any clue what Twitter is.
