Russia announced yesterday that it plans to sell military equipment to Iran. If you're dying to know what Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has to say about the deal, he'd probably be willing to discuss it with John McCain and Barack Obama.
Ahmadinejad has invited the presidential candidates to debate him on the world stage. Specifically, the Iranian leader would like to chat about global developments at the UN headquarters in New York with John McCain and Barack Obama. And even though he's making the visit to New York for opening session, still thinks that the UN should move its headquarters from the US, to an impartial host country.
At least one person on the tickets will forcefully say "thanks, but no thanks" to Ahmadinejad. Sarah Palin plans on having meetings at the UN next week, and she was set to join an anti-Iran rally outside the UN, until her invitation was taken back.
Even though it's not happening, do you think a televised debate with Iran's president would have any positive results?

Um...no.
Is it just me, or is he starting to seem like a reality tv star? Gimmicks for attention.
1Next he will auction off a date.
I agree Jill.
2He's totally a joke. I think of that Andy Samberg song every time I see his face now.
3Scary!
4em...LOL! That video was funny.
And the answer for me in regards to the debates is a HELL NO! Agree with Jill...total publicity stunt and not worthy of our time even reporting.
5I see him in a red dress every time I see his face!
6Maybe he will auction his virginity next? That seems to be the popular thing to do now!
GS grabs for her hammer and apologizes to Mr. Piggy Bank.
7haha GS!

10That guy is such a goober. He is believed to have been involved in the 1979 hostage crisis. His thinking is pure propoganda so he lacks the ability to intelligently debate anyone.
11An open discussion rather than back door talks would certainly be more revealing of the truth surrounding the differences between our two nations. However, the U.S. won't do that. We have gone out of our way to create this image of evil when it comes to Iran and now we have to facilitate that image by keeping talks behind doors and projecting that image. I have to respect the man though for wanting everything to be open. The more eyes that see and ears that hear the less one can deceive.
12Egomania, anyone?
Foreign policy is important, but that's no reason for a foreign leader
of a country with which we're having difficulties to so blatantly insert himself into our election process.
13NO. He's a little weasel, who hasn't followed any of the UN's rules to this day, so now we're going to allow him to make his own? No thanks.
14I agree that he shouldn't be allowed to debate. I'd like to see either candidate debate him after they become president. They'd tear him to shreds.
