After reading some of the comments from my Do Tell on your secret heartsickness remedy, calibabi mentioned a great way to heal... listening to your favorite "breakup song"! Whether it is a sappy slow song that reminds you of all the great times you shared with your significant other or a loud, pissed off angry song, we all have one. So ladies, do tell, what is your breakup song?

Andy Warhol for Levi's
By Malene Birger
Tod's
Here I Go Again, by Whitesnake.
The lyrics seem kind of sad, but for some reason it makes me feel really happy and powerful.
There are a few others also, but if I had to pick just one, this is it for sure.
"And I made up my mind, I ain't wasting no more time..."
1Right now there is a great Amy Winehouse song, back to black. good stuff!
2Don't Speak by No Doubt is still such a great break up song. I have sung it many times at the top of my lungs! "it looks as though you're letting go...and if its real then I don't want to know..."
3'Secretly' by Skunk Anansie.
4I Never Really Loved You Anyway - The Corrs
Gotta Get Over You - Aslyn
Oh so many more that I have listened to, but they tend to be on the sadder side. These are more uplifting.
5WE 0NLY CAN PICK 0NE?! DARNIT BUT ITS S0 MANY! I'VE MADE A BREAK UP MIXED CD S0 EVERYTIME I G0 THRU A BREAK UP (EVEN TH0 ITS 0NLY BEEN 0NE) I CAN G0 2 THAT CD & MAKE MYSELF FEEL BETTER. BUT IF I HAD 2 CH00SE 0NE N0W I'D SAY...
BEYONCE: RESENTMENT
6Ben Folds Five: Song for the Dumped
It's in the name, and it's all those little petty things that you want to yell at the person.
"i wish i hadn't bought you dinner right before you dumped me on your front porch"
"Give me my money back, you b*tch, and don't forget to give me back my black t-shirt."
Love it.
7don't call me baby - madison ave.
-or-
hole in the head - sugababes
...and all of the songs on "when the pawn..." by fiona apple. it becomes really satisfying singing along.
8Fiona Apple is the best for break ups. I feel for her. I have to hear this resentment song by beyonce because my friend told me it's the best break up song.
9****"Everything in life is only for now."-Avenue Q****
My ultimate break up song would definately have to be...She Didn't Have Time by Terri Clark....
♥јεήή♥
10thanks for the shout-out dear!
i have SO many good break up songs. but the old school ones i listened to (way back in high school) were "someday" and "vanishing" by Mariah Carey and also "little differences" by Save Ferris. more recently i would say "since you've been gone" by Kelly Clarkson.
11Maroon 5 "Through with You!" Here's a little bit...
I used to think you were the one
12Now I'm sick of thinking anything at all!
You Oughta Know- Vintage Alanis Morrisette. It is the epitome of break-up songs!
13Wicked game by Chris Issak and (yep is corny) Hard Habit to Break by Chicago......
Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strenght
14Seventy times 7 by Brand New
"...is that what you call a getaway? tell me what you got away with, 'cause i've seen more spine in jelleyfish, i've seen more guts in 11 year old kids. have another drink and drive yourself home, i hope there's ice on all the roads, so you can think of me when you forget your seatbelt, and again when your head goes through the windshield..."
15Oh my, drummer...I like that one...I'm going to iTunes right now!
16I WILL SURVIVE. One and only that can cheer me up!
17Hopelessly Devoted. I sing it at the top of my lungs in the shower. Many many times.
18Oh boy, there's lots.
Where The Lost Ones Go - Espen Lind and Sissel Kyrkjebo (Norwegian artists)
Simple Together - Alanis Morissette. So melancholic and nostalgic, to remember all the dreams one had in the relationship that just broke down.
Time To Grow - Lemar. I like to imagine my exes listening and singing to this song while remembering me. *evil laugh*
Break Me - Marion Raven. Really Angry break-up song. Good for letting go off the jerks.
Power of Goodbye - Madonna. What can I say. "Your heart is not open so I must go". Says it all really.
In God's Hands - Nelly Furtado
Don't Bother - Shakira
Since You've Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson
Hung Up - Madonna.
Ok, i'm getting carried away..
19The End Of Heartache - Killswitch Engage [metal to make you CRYYYY]

Un Amore Per Sempre - Josh Groban [translate the lyrics. soooo saddddd]
Objection (Tango) by Shakira makes me wanna kick some ass. lol.

21Ex-Girlfriend by No Doubt and Goodbye to You by Michelle Branch
22"Hemorrhage" by Fuel
"Don't Speak" by No Doubt
and "Heaven (Candlelight Version)" by DJ Sammy...
First one was played nonstop during my big break up and the last one was "our song"... I still have trouble listening to it. =\
23mine would be, Sailed on by Landon Pigg
24"my favorite mistake" by sheryl crow
25"tonight i wanna cry" by keith urban
Since You've Been Gone is a good one
26I also like 'Love of My Life" by Queen when I want to have a good cry
And there's an old song by Rod Stewart that I can relate to sometimes but I don't know the name of it. Some of the lyrics: When I fall in love again, I know; it's gonna be much better; I won't be that dumb again I know.....it's gonna last forever
Anything by U2.
27Lexo- you don't have to limit it to one! keep them coming!
and I agree brazilnut, Vintage Alanis Morrisette is great breakup music...
28I have an entire playlist on my iPod dedicated to breakup songs. Some featured are "Shut Up" by the Black Eye Peas and "Let you go" by Ashely Parker Angel and "Walk Away" by Kelly Clarkson.
29Ok the only one that comes to mind goes like this, ahem, "I can't live if living is without you...." Don't know the name of the song or who sang it but it's from the 70's.
30I already commented on this but I also thought of 'Everybody Hurts' by R.E.M. That's a good one when you're hanging your head in your beer
31ooh i like

I forogt "nothing compares to you" by miss o'connor.
33For r&b lovers,

41i have to agree with drummer: "seventy times seven" is one of my favorite break up songs..it soo bitter "i cant let you let me down again"
sappy HAS to be anytime by brian mcknight:
"do i ever cross your mind anytime? do you ever wake up reaching out for me do i ever cross your mind anytime i miss you"
omg i love his voice too
another good bitter is fall out boy 'tell that mick he just made my list of things to do today"
"lets play this game called when you catch fire i wouldn't p!ss to put you out no stop burning bridges and drive off of them so i can forget about you"
42These are some obscure/old ones, but really good.
Voltaire - The Last Word
"Far be it for I to leave all this beauty behind
I will stay to watch you wither away
And with any luck you may be hit by a truck
And I will remain to dance upon your grave
Oh, look, can't you see how much your death means to me
Please won't you play in a busy street?
Far be it for I to leave all this beauty behind
I will remain to dance upon your grave"
Stabbing Westward - The Thing I Hate (P.O.M.F.)
(POMF stands for "Pissed off mother-f*cker")
"You've treated me like I'm a worthless piece of sh*t
You think you're in control but you make me sick
I want to watch you suffer
The way that you've made me suffer
I want to f*ck up everything you've ever loved"
And if you're going to listen to "I will Survive", make sure it's the version by Cake. For some reason, the more vulgar the lyrics, the happier you are to get over someone. "I should have changed my f*cking lock, I should have made you leave your key..."
43slow dancing in a burning room, john mayer
44I'm a Mess - Anthony Hamilton
45but it probably makes matters worse rather than healing..ah well..
