Tonight's season premiere of Saturday Night Live may have a few surprise political guests to join human-fish-turned-host Michael Phelps. Barack Obama had been going over sketches for his probable cameo, but due to Hurricane Ike he's canceled his appearance on SNL. Guess we won't be able to tell once and for all whether Barack Obama is a hoot, or truly un-funny.

Also set to make a guest appearance is Sarah Palin look-alike Tina Fey. She just needs to work it out with her 30 Rock shooting schedule. Since she already has the glasses, I hope she can make it happen! Are you staying up late to check out SNL?

Fantasie
The resemblance is completely uncanny.
1Sigh. It's just the hair and glasses. I have dark hair, and when I wear my glasses people tell me I look like Tina Fey and Lisa Loeb. I really hope I don't start getting Sarah Palin.
If I haven't kept up with my eyebrow maintenance and I'm wearing my contacts, I get Brooke Shields or Denise Richards.
2You sound hot torg.
AND I love that color on you.
3Its not just the hair and glasses, they have the same jawline too. But yeah, it's not perfect, just good.
4Eh. I don't see it, I think Fey's chin is slightly more pointy and she has a bit of a cleft. Palin's jaw has much sharper corners in my opinion.
I'm just saying if either one was blonde, the comparison wouldn't be made. But I admit to being sensitive just because people always say I look like whatever brunette is at the forefront of their mind with either thick eyebrows or glasses. Lisa Loeb I don't mind so much, Valerie Bertinelli was less flattering.
5I'm brunette and occasionally wear glasses, but I don't get compared to other brunettes. Except the girl who plays Hermione in the Harry Potter movies, but that one is actually right on. It's scary to watch myself on tv....
But you have to admit it will be fun to see Tina do her Sarah
6I don't see it--I think Palin looks a LOT more like Karen from Will and Grace (even the hairstyle!). Tina Fey's hotter.
7...and honestly, can Phelps do half the show with his shirt off? Or, like, the entire show?
8I'm on the 'don't see it' camp. I think Fey is much prettier, with fine bone structure, whereas Palin has a squarer, heavier boned face. However, there is more to looks when doing impressions, the facial expressions, the voice, and body language counts for a lot so I have no doubt Fey will do an awesome impression! Regardless I won't miss SNL, but thats because I've been watching since its inception all those years ago!
9I think Palin looks more like Mariska Hargitay than Tina Fey. Maybe a mix of Hargitay and Fey. Oh well, I will watch tonight to see what they do with all the election material. Tina's awesome.
10Michael Phelps! *banging head on keyboard in a fit of euphoria*

13Bummed about Obama not being on.
But really can't wait to see SNL's take on this whole
campaign. And looking forward to seeing Phelps. Hope he can bring Lochte on for a cameo.
14I'm bummed about Obama not being on -- but proud -- because while McCain was on the View -- Obama was in support position ready to help out the storm victims
I think it's going to be funny -- GWAD -- I hope so.
15Gaaa, I just hope someone Youtubes it.
Sidenote: whomever keeps sneaking choco-covered coffee beans to Fuzzles, stop it. Now. I mean it.
16I'm on it rabid
17i love how the McCain camp is calling Obama a celebrity when Palin is the one that looks like a celebrity....those flipfloppin hypocrites!
18...Seriously? That's weak.
19poonie -- that is funny. First they harped on Change -- when it became popular they took the slogan on as theirs -- then they called Obama a celebrity -- now Palin is their celebrity -- some say the sincerest form of flattery is imitation.
20I am so excited to see Tina Fey as Palin.
21i'll be watching tonight...if i can stay up that late. and i definitely see the resemblance! the very first thing i thought when i saw palin for the first time was, 'wow, she looks like tina fey'
22i have never ever ever watched SNL, which i wanted to today, but we have a bunch of guests over for the boxing tonight
23everyone needs to read this article, but be warned, it's scary! It's about Palin firing people of her small town once she became mayor, for personal reasons. It's from the first page of New York Times...

24rabid and dream,
I'm
beans!
with my choco-covered
Hehehehe
(In best Rain Man voice) Thirty minutes tell Phelps. Yeah. Gotta watch Phelps. Yeah.
25It's a great fit!
I don't really think it's ironic that people call Obama a celebrity and Palin looks like one. That makes no sense.
26SNL:

^ Oh no. The video was removed. It's ok though. SNL comes on in an hour. Was it funny??? (don't spoil me, though)
28LOL -- that was REALLY quick!! It's good you'll like it!!
29I found a better video link, but it's only half of the skit! Tina is amazingly dead on!!! HOLY S***T, she's perfect!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/13/tina-fey-as-sarah-palin-o_n_126...
30yeah -- too bad they took that one down -- I know more will be up tomorrow -- the whole thing is great!!
31That snippet I saw was great. Fey is hilarious. Thanks Adren!
3230 minutes to go before SNL plays here. Waiting patiently for my Phelps phix.
33Adrenalynn75,
All I can say is DO NOT miss Tina and Amy at the beginning, stay tuned for Michael Phelps and his retainer, and leave a little place in your heart and stomach for his special diet.
Nite, Ladies. It's time for me to take a cold shower! And hide my beans.
34Here it is! It's hilarious!

35oh -- sweet -- it's in my blog for life
-- thanks Livvy
36Fey did a great impression.
37Livvy! Awesome, thanks. That was HI-LARIOUS. 15 minutes to go over here, I can totally watch that over and over again.
38
Adrenalynn!!! omg thank you for that link!!!
39Tina is an Awesome Sarah. She has the accent down marvelously!
The skit was quite funny, so glad I got to see it in Finland, thanks for posting it!
(and yeah, Tina has her accent down...frighteningly well. I wonder..could we just switch 'em out?
Maybe nobody would notice...course, Fey is probably better on foreign policy.)
40Fey would make a better vice president! That would scare me less. Hillary was a perfect candidate for both president and vp.. but the us is still probably too racist to vote for an African American let alone an African American and a woman.. that might be too much change. And listening to some of those people they interviewed who think he is a Muslim born in Haiti who hates America
Yikes.. is it bad to have a little tiny part of you happy that they are old and
will die soon and their antiquated superstitions with them?
41The SNL skit was amazing.. and way too true to the point of almost not being funny. But Tina has Caribou Barbie down pat.
42Tina was brilliant!
43Awesome skit. It was only a week or so ago I was telling him of Tina Fey's uncanny resemblance to the Alaskan governor. And, sure enough, SNL goes and reels her in again for the guest role. Hahaha.
44This was the funniest skit ever!
