Unfortunately there is no easy, pain free way to cure a broken heart. If you have ever loved, chances are you have felt heartache as well. Some people like to wallow in self pity while others turn to a nice bottle of Merlot and a great friend in an attempt to get over a broken heart. So ladies, do tell, what is your secret cure for heartsickness?

Heh I wish there were a secret remedy (currently recovering from a breakup). I'm afraid there's no such thing, only time makes things a bit easier.
1Oh I use several remedies-girls night out, chocolate, ice cream, but my fave is just to veg out and watch all my fave Disney movies and chick flicks that I missed out on while in a relationship.
2i have a number of different songs that i call my "breakup songs"...i used to listen to them on repeat for a couple of days/weeks, and they helped me realize i was better off without a stupid boy in my life. (of course, this was before i was married. now my breakup songs are just for nostalgia.)
3I have a favorite book. Debby Bull Blue Jelly.
4I think Advah is right on that time is really the only thing that can truly help. But...
I try to speed it along by taking really good care of myself. I know that being tired and hungry and lazy makes me feel bad on a normal day, and makes me feel plain awful during a bad emotional time.
So I give myself lots of time to cry and mourn, but I try to eat healthily, get good sleep and get my regular exercise also. It makes me feel good phsyically, and it also gives me a sense of feeling like "okay, so this sucked, but I'm still able to function like a normal person so I'll be okay eventually."
I also try to keep busier than normal with friends.
5Jup, I forgot to add this, Popgoestheworld! It's like when I'm sick, I found that not paying attention to how I look just makes things worse. So I try to not stay in uglyyetcomfy clothes, but to dress nicely and make sure my hair looks nice. Also, I listen to tons of U2, exclusively! I'm a massive U2 fan and it sort of makes the numbness bearable. (now I do sound desperate, do I?!)
6Time.
7I hit the gym. Excercise has always been an easy way for me to release built up emotions. Plus, looking more fab than ever doesn't hurt to boost my self-esteem.
8Ice cream. Cookie Dough. Funny Movies. Whatever works for you.
9Dane Cook is excellent at making me feel better.
10Oh I'm good at wallowing, lol. Lots of music and just like pixiechick, I love my Disney films and chick flicks.
11A combination of my favorite activities, so typically: watching my favorite DVDs, listening to music, heavy retail therapy, some great food, and being with friends. And always trying to remember that this, too, shall pass.
12Spend a few days wallowing (sappy songs, a good cry!) and mourning the lost love, and then start cheering yourself up with your favourite activities and people!
13go to vegas with the girls...works like a charm!
14I'm big on taking some time to myself, lying around like a slug and feeling my pain. After awile of that, I buy myself some new clothes, go out with any decent guy that asks and break back into the world of dating.
It's only time that heals wounds, but there's a lot of stuff you can do that makes you feel better temporarily!
15After my last breakup I went on a big shopping spree. All my new clothes made me feel better about myself.
A night out dancing was good too. I went out to a college party that actually ended up being really fun!

16i listen to ALOT of john mayer..
17i get a hair cut which to me symbolizes u know gettin rid of all the feelings i have for my ex..
i get together with my girfriends, we go to a park or sumthing and burn everything he ever gave to me..makes me feel ALOT better!!
time has always worked for me in whatever i'm going through. i just go about my regular routine, get in touch with old friends that i may have lost touch with, watch tv, just do all of the things that i like to do and usu. i like to just be alone. it all gets better with time that's for sure.
18I agree with Daisyray, hitting the gym is the BEST remedy. Not only can you take all your emotions out on the treadmill but you're making yourself more fabulous looking at the same time which definitely boosts your self esteem.... what else could be better?
19Oh yeah, agrepina, how could I forget the haircut?? It's a quick, simple way to make you feel instantly fabulous and beautiful. Don't forget the manicure/pedicure too!
20I found that saying yes whenever possible to all invites from your friends really helps. You don't sit at home and over think the situation and your talking to lots of people. I don't want to sound shallow, but it definately helps your self-esteem to get hit on a little bit, especially when you feel kinda crappy about yourself. I agree with you guys about working out, it helps in so many ways. I used to go tanning a little bit too, anything that would help with feeling better, but I know that's bad!
21Music. I listened to lots of Joni Mitchell, Janis Ian, and Rachael Yamagata. I cried every night, too, until one day I just didn't feel the need to cry. (It took two months.) I watched rom-coms to remind me that there are good guys still out there in the world. I also made a decision to re-enter the world. It took me saying "I don't want to be sad anymore" to really come out of it.
