I don't think that this girl realizes what she's getting into. It might sound like a good idea at the time but what's going to happen years down the line? Yeah, I don't think there's any question about the fact that it is prostitution. Having sex in exchange for money is the definition of prostitution. Whether it's legal or not - as Michelin points out, that depends on where she is and where the transaction takes place, I would assume. And regarding whether it SHOULD be legal or not - well, I honestly have mixed feelings on that issue. She has to be seeking attention in addition to money or she wouldn't have been so...public. It's OK if she's doing it from NV, but if the bidder is from outside of NV, or in Clark County, it's illegal for him (I'm going to be pretty blatantly sexist and assume the majority of bidders will be male) to bid on it. I've got to defend this girl, not because I agree with what she's doing, but because I DO agree that it's her business and not mine.

1. Are you all aware that she's doing this because her and her sisters stepfather squandered the money their mother had put away for them for college?

2. Are you aware that she put a clause in the auction that gives her final approval over the guy? This means (And she said this) that it probably won't be the highest bidder. She said she wants to feel SOME sort of attraction and he has to be clean and tested.

Now, NONE of this makes a difference to the right/wrong of it. I just think that maybe not everyone has the whole picture. I've been reading about this story since last Wednesday and at first I was disgusted. But then I thought about all of these reality "dating" shows. Most of those shows are doing EXACTLY what she's doing, but not 'honestly' in that they don't come right out and say "Yeah, we're getting these two people together so they can have sex."
