You won't find much of Sydney on the maps. Some point to safety reasons as the maps could be used as a potential terrorist tool, though Google says that it removed the high-res pics because of problems with their image providers. Suspicion over that reasoning stems from the fact that blocked areas have included: the Garden Island Naval Depot, the Lucas Heights Reactor, Parliament House, and the Australian Defence Force headquarters in Canberra.
