One of my biggest pet peeves is when people don't dress for the weather. I cant stand when people wear flip flops in the pouring rain or those girls who go out in the middle of winter in the middle of the night without jackets.

When i see young girls in a the shortest dress they could find in the middle of winter It makes my stomach churns a little. Also when I see young women really drunk. That's not a good thing to be doing, even when you're with your mates. It ruins the night.

My biggest pet peeves all have to do with entitlement... like driving all the way past traffic to exit somewhere and cutting in just in front of everyone who has been waiting etc.

I also laugh my ass off when it's like the first nice-ish day in spring and all the girls who have been DYING to wear their new spring clothes walk around in 50 degrees shivering because they couldn't hold off trying to hot any longer.

I cant stand when people talk loudly on their cell phones...ugh it drives me crazy!!
I also HATE bad drivers people who think they own the road...

My biggest pet peeve has to be people who don't respect my time and are always late. I am usually that person who is 10 minutes early, so if you always show up late I have a really hard time being friends with you.

Yiddidea-that is another one i cant stand either! I am an early person and cant stand people who make me late!

my biggest pet peeve is when i'm talking on the phone someone who is with me listen in and thinks it's okay to chim in. Um... I wasn't talking to you.
I also can't stand it when people rubberneck, and don't hold the door for you.

My pet peeve is incompetence ... if you can't do it (the job, whatever) then DON'T ... go home, find another job, whatever. Don't make life harder on everyone else. (I don't mean people in training, either ... I mean people who really SHOULD know better.)

And not to upset anyone, but I agree with chiming into the conversation if someone I'm with starts yakking on their cell for more than a few minutes. Cell phone etiquette is a big pet peeve of mine, too, LOL.

I hate when people don't wash their hands with soap! Like, when a person only rinses their fingers that they got dirty under the water for 2 seconds and then wipes it dry on their clothes. I always have soap and paper towels at home.
Also, I hate when mothers go out looking slutty at clubs or something. Just because you are young and have a good body does not mean you need to dress that way, you're a mother! If I were their husband I'd be worried what goes on when they are out.

Hmmm, just b/c your a mother doesnt mean you cant choose to dress the way you feel?? maybe they are not married either or maybe their husbands trust them??

I can't stand bad drivers and people who smoke around non-smokers. I also hate it when people smoke around their pets!

I hate anti-smokers giving me dirty looks when I'm outside in the smoking section enjoying my break. I'm outside, in my designated area, nowhere near non-smokers, checking the wind to make sure i'm not affecting anyone else, and I still get the evil eye (and this one guy who stares me down, it really freaks me out). I'm following all of their rules and I still get to be treated like I'm personally handing out cigarettes at an elementary school. (I won't even give cigarettes to anyone under 18 or people I know to be non-smokers)
I try to be the most polite smoker I can be, but come on.

Spitting. I cant stand when people spit in front of me! It is so gross. Eeeewww!!!

i absolutely can't stand when people don't use their blinkers. they are put in the car for a reason!!! use them!!!

when driving, i hate it when people don't give the courtesy hand/wave if you let them in front of you. c'mon, just give a quick hand wave to say thanks! that's ALL i ask...

Bad drivers, when people don't do their job well, and the sound of nails being clipped.

my pet-peeve involves people who ask you questions but DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR ANSWER! they only ask because they want you to hear the answer to their own question. typically these people talk at great lenght, talk over you, and DO NOT LISTEN TO YOU AFTER THEY TALK FORRREEEVVERRR.

jaywalkers and people who don't know the difference between your and you're, their, there and they're, etc. also, people who interrupt or talk over me just so they can make their point.

and those rude smokers, excluding you stefapie, who don't smoke as stefapie does. (I give you major golf claps for being so considerate, honey, even if I don't approve of your choice)

another pet peeve - people who work in customer service jobs who have no desire AT ALL to give good customer service. God knows there are other people who would take their job in a second and actually do it right. I used to have to work crap jobs when I was younger too, but I did it to the best of my ability.

yay, yiddidea! i'm totally with you. i work in cust. service and while i HATE my job, i'm still nice and a "human on the other end of the line."

HOWEVER, working with the general public is ROUGH. So rough. leading me to a second pet peeve. When talking to a cust. service rep, if you are upset, please do not take it to a personal level. I didn't do anything wrong and I'm trying to help!

My pet peeve are people with no common sense, people who try to merge on the freeway at surface street speed, and like popgoestheworld said people who know the lane is merging but wait til the last friggin second to move over I think thats why traffic slows down so much

My #1 pet peeve is when people chew with their mouths open... Actually, now that I think about it, bad table manners drive me crazy.. loud chewers, swallowers, messy eaters, slurpers, elbows on tables, etc etc...

Also, I find myself cringing whenever someone laughs through their noses, I can almost see the snot spraying all over the place and it grosses me out like no other

Another peeve I have is when nobody dares to speak out about bullying and racism at work.I have seen it happened often. I used to get so hot and bother about it. But I've learnt to deal with it a bit better now.

You all are pointing really good ones out, especially cell phone etiquette. I do NOT approve of being on the cell phone while you are being helped at a store. I would be appalled if the person working there was on the phone, and just because we're the customer, it doesn't mean that rudeness doesn't apply to us.

Also, part of the work I do relates to customer service. You are all right. Sometimes it's just a job for people and they don't do a wonderful job. And sometimes the meanest people ever call and just yell at our reps because they can't beat their kids or something and need to take it out on someone. Both are a pet peeve of mine for sure.

And I totally hate it when I let someone in traffic and they can't muster a wave.

i hate it when people dont' say please and thank you. i mean we all learned it when we were kids, is it too hard to say? i hate when people ask way too personal questions esp. if they just met me and don't even know me that well. i also hate people who are late and i hate seeing people with sloppy work uniforms. eewwwwww look presentable please.

When I hold the door for someone and they don't say thank you. Unnecessary swearing, like when it's every other word or just completely uncalled for and show offy. Oh and lateness.

Oh, and I agree with andaman. The whole getting really drunk for the sake of it really irritates me.

Incompetence, people that block the whole aisle in the grocery store because they're on their cell phone, drunk people, and stoned people.

I also hate it when people I don't know touch. Don't put your hand on my shoulder and don't touch my hair just because you want to know how curly it is.

My pet peeve is lack of simple manners. Holding the door for someone a few steps behind you, please and thank you. Those things go a long way. Whatever happened to simple courtesy?

I hate it when we have omething planned outside of Church but we announced it and everyone knows about it and we still have to call them to come. I come every week and sometimes only one other person comes! We always have to call them!!!

I hate it when people smack when they eat! Close your mouth!! UUUGGGHHH!!!

all very good comments, and I agree with most of them. I'd like to add that I hate when people show up at my house uninvited (I literally won't let them in until they call me from outside my door--that should teach them) and also when invited guests bring others with them w/o asking first. Honestly, I feel like it's such an invasion of my personal space and I get really offended. If I invite you over, fine, but don't invite other people to someone else's home. It's rude. Also, people who allow their children to misbehave in stores, screaming and running and pulling things off the shelves. If you can't teach your children to be well-mannered, how do you expect them to be conscientious adults? In fact, if you can't teach your children to be well mannered, why even bother letting them be seen in public? I feel like it's a reflection of their parenting skills also (I know there can be exceptions to this). But hey, haven't you guys seen the dog whisperer on south park? (hah I do that do my boyfriend occasionally to discourage bad behaviour). Ok, I think that covers the major ones, I feel better now.

when i open a glass door and the person on the other side hurrys to step through it before it do (especially when the door is double and they could just open the other one). seriously, yesterday i went to the video store with my youngest and this happened. i was holding her hand with my left hand and opening the door with my right hand and the woman pushed my 6 year old out of the way to try and get through the door before it colsed! i was standing there holding it and just let it fall into my back and she was literally refusing to move. i said "excuse me" and she looked so puzzled and said "i'm trying to get out". well stupid b*tch use the other door or wait till i come through! this drives me nuts and i have noticed that teens and women in their early 20's are the worst about it. maybe use to their parents opening the doors for them or something, i don't know but super ANNOYING!

The pet peeve I can think about for right now is:

When people hold one side of their nostril and blow their nose. No tissue..just blow it all out on the street. Gross.

my peeve for today is when somebody starts complaining about everything man..Goodness me..why???? Is life that difficult to tackle? If it is then find a strategy to cope but quit moaning about everything. If someone or something bothers you so much just leave the situation. Look on the bright side of life for a change! Life isn't that terrible if you know how to live it.

I said that because i had to spend an hour listening to someone b*tching about her life! I was prepared for it though.

My pet peeves are 1)DUMB drivers...like the ones who cut your lane and go as slow as the guy that he didnt want to follow......
2)people with no manners or sense of cleanliness...such as while riding the public train and he/she coughs with one hand to cover their mouth then right after uses that same hand to hold a pole!! GROSS...also when the train is packed like a sardine can and someone next to you yawns without covering their mouth and you smell their rank morning breath! EEWWWW!
3)people who leave the toothpaste cap off/open and people who dont wash off the toothpaste gunk off the tube so when the next person uses the toothpaste, their hand gets sticky and covered in the leftover paste from the previous person(s)

when people do not take buggies back to the buggy return area. Its just laziness. Take it back!!!!! Stop being lazy!!!! Also, people who can't control their kids ESPECIALLY in resturants.
