With all the press out there, chances are you've heard about Bravo's new show The Rachel Zoe Project, starring none other than the famous stylist to the stars, Rachel Zoe! Fab's been teasing you with some great tidbits from their little chat, but I've got some juicy information to share too!
As I've said a million times before, you never know when you're going to meet Mr. Right, so you might be surprised to hear where Rachel met her husband of 16 years! If you're curious, read more.
You mentioned you guys have been together since you were 20. Tell me, how did you guys get together when you were 20?
"We have our 16-year anniversary next Friday. Yeah. I was at George Washington University, undergrad, and he was in Grad School. And I stayed for a Summer to take some classes and I wanted to meet some people outside of school. And I got a job as a hostess at a restaurant, and he was a waiter. And that is how we met."
So what about all of you married women out there? Where and how did you meet your hubby?

Through friends
1A friend of mine told me that my guy had a "chubby" for me hahaha. how romantic
at work! I was his supervisor
2Through a friend. 8 years later, that same friend married us
3well im not married but been dating him for 4 1/2 years so i feel like i have a right to share? lol
4I was at one of my sorority events in college making valentine's day cards for kids and my friend who knew him thru a friend asked him to come make one..i also knew the friend he was with..we flirted..dated..and here we are today
We are engaged- does that count to share? We met in grad school, we were studying in the same petroleum program where you study half your time in the states and half in France (he's French- hence why he was studying in the states), at the time we both had significant others living in Houston, and he didn't have a car, so I would drive him every wknd and we became best friends being in the car together for 2 semesters . . then he left to go back and work in France, broke up with his gf, me with my bf for different reasons. I had one last semester in the states but we had stayed in touch, several emails a day for that semester, especially helping each other through the break-ups . . .then when it was time for me to go to France, we were both single, and realized that everything we wanted our ex's to be- we found in each other! We started "dating" the day I arrived in France, and now he's moved to the states to be with me and we're getting married next April!
Sorry- that was prolly annoyingly long!
5at a party through friends....my husband asked me which year I graduated and if I knew his brother....I went on and on about how I used to have a huge crush on him and thought nothing else of it. He went home and told his mom in the morning that he had met the girl he was going to marry. I didn't go on a date with him until 2 years later!
6I went to a bar on a Wednesday night in college to play pool with a friend, and my husband-to-be was there singing karaoke. He sang Johnny Cash's "Boy Named Sue" and then walked up to me, told me I was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen, and I told him I had a boyfriend
We were best friends for a year before I dumped my boyfriend, moved in with him, and we've been together ever since.
7I met my husband first in the 5th grade. We were in the same classes until High School, when we ended up at different schools. We weren't really friends, more like acquaintances, and lost touch until sophomore year of High School when we started emailing and talking on AIM. Then, a mutual friend had a birthday party that fall and we kinda re-met each other. We started dating that year when we were both 15 (before my parents allowed me to date at 16). We dated through High School and Undergrad, despite going to different schools for both. We're both in grad school now, different schools again but at least the same city! We just got married earlier this summer.
8Sorry that was really long! My friends always joke that we have the most disgustingly cute story, so I don't really advertise it!
9Tim Horton's! We both worked there when we were 15-16, and we've been together ever since!
10My hubby and I met online. I used to not admit to to people but I don't care so much anymore. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. Not as cute of a story as some other people, but we have lots of other cute stories to share
11My husband and I were both RAs in college and we met there our sophomore year. We were friends and me, him, and a few other guys would all walk to church together because it was just off campus by the dorms. After a year or so of being friends we started dating. He later told me that he remembered seeing me for the first time in RA class our freshman year and thinking I was cute. He even remembered what I was wearing which I find incredibly adorable.
We celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary next month!
12George Washington is a great school. And that's cute how they met. I heart Rachel even though she's quite ridiculous.
13psterling, I hear you... but in the scheme of things the story is completely irrelevant. Better to have a great relationship than a great story!
14We met in a bar, which I find highly amusing - neither of us is really a bar person, and I sure never expected to seriously date someone I met that way. But we marked 5 years together in April; we'll be married 2 years in November.
15We met in high school and have been together even since. It will be 14 years in a couple of weeks and we have been married for 5
16her story isn't that weird
my bf and i met at a huge camping weekend, and everyone assumed we were having a fling, but we actually both really liked each other. and trust me, that weekend, we saw each other at our worst! it could only get better from there!
17Fiance and I met through mutual friends at a college Young Alumni Reunion that neither one of us wanted to go to...funny how we went to the same school and never met. He got my number, then never called.
A couple of months later, I was out with a girlfriend, waiting in line to get into a bar. I saw a guy walking up to me that I sort of recognized -- and yes, it was the guy who didn't call me. He approached and jokingly asked why I didn't give him the "right number." Turns out the last two digits on the phone number we inversed. We laughed and ended up hanging out that evening; been together ever since!
18online actually. through aim. my sister was looking for people who went to her college so she could get help on some final project she was working on. she ended up talking to my now-husband's then roommate. it somehow came up that I was trying to get into modeling and my now-husband was working on his photography portfolio (he had minored in photography). we met up at a local (and very popular and well populated) mall and spent an awkward three hours wandering around the mall. of course we didn't end up together until another 4 years later (;
19*hangs head in shame* i met my husband on myspace! LOL!!
20We aren't married ... yet. But we've been together for 6 years in Sept so I thought I could post too
I was home schooled in middle school (7 &
and decided to go back to public school for
high school. But I decided to go to school in the next town over. The summer before I started 9th grade I took driver's ed at the school. Well the driver's ed teacher was awesome and we got
along great and it turned out he had a son that was in the grade above me (which I didn't know about). Apparently he went home and told my now SO that he (my teacher) had a girlfriend picked
out for him (my SO).

Well later on that summer I was going to the lake with a friend I met in Driver's Ed and we drove by a hotel that had some cars parked in front of it (summer employees). Well, my SO's blue mustang was parked there and my friend pointed it out and said that is our driver's ed teacher's son's car. I laughed and said that's a nice car (esp for a 16 yr old) and then said something about how I'm going to have to date him
We started school and I was actually in a history class that the DE teacher taught ... and my SO was in there too. I had no idea they were father and son. The teacher was talking about what all we were going to learn in class and he mentioned Vladimir Lenin. My SO said "Who's Lenin?" making a joke with his dad ... I didn't know that so I proceeded to tell him just who Lenin was and about the Russian Revolution.
My SO and his dad still think that was a hilarious situation! lol
Well about a week later after developing a major crush on him I asked my SO for his phone number and... the rest is history! lol
sorry it is so long!! We just have a very funny story ... there's more to it but it'd be way too much lol
21My husband and I met through music. His best friend had told me to check out one of the bands he recorded and my husband just so happened to be the bass player. They were having a show in VA, while I was passing through on vacation, so a friend and I decided to check it out. We met, chatted, and decided to keep in touch. Then, after about 2 years of a long distance friendship, we embarked on a long distance relationship (which was tough, but well worth it)! A little over 2 1/2 years later we were married... swoon!
22We met at a gas station, of all places. We're not married, but we've been together for 5 years. Close enough.
23Met my husband at a college football tailgate. I had gone to the tailgate with his friend (whom I was dating at the time) and I ended up spending more time talking and throwing the football with my husband than with the guy i was dating at the time. I ran into him again at a couple christmas parties, then two months after his friend and I broke up, he gave me a call and we started dating. 6 months later we were engaged, and 9 months after that we were married. He said he like the way i threw the football!
24psterling and popgoestheworld
25im in ur group
but regardless i think we've got an amazing love story to tell
linb, i want to hear the gas station story!
26I live in a small community so several of the locals hang out at the gas station on weekends (there is a small seating area inside). He was one of the guys hanging out when I came in for eggs and milk on a Sunday morning. He recognized my step father's truck, which I was driving, and wanted to know who the hot blond was driving it!
We struck up a conversation, but did not start dating until several months later when my
stepfather decided to intervene and play matchmaker.
And that's my gas station story
27Blind date!!!!
and we just celebrated our 12yr wedding aniversary on august 17th...
28I also met my husband at George Washington. Though we were both undergrads at the time. And I thought he was a big pompous ass the first time I met him, and tried to avoid him at all costs for the first 6 months. A friend of mine laughed and said I would wind up marrying him someday, and I rolled my eyes and said that I would hate myself if I turned into the kind of woman who would marry him.
And of course, seven years later, we were married. I don't know if that says worse things about my first impressions of people, or what kind of person I became!
29met my sweety at work. he had to work for me. i was not an easy catch.
30That's awful cute that they met at school. Alas, I'm 25 in a sea of 19, so I doubt that's gonna be how I meet my sweetheart.
31First met in college. I was a freshman, fresh out of high school. I was really young, and I looked it. He was an upper classman. He pursued me, and I wanted nothing to do with him, so I brushed him off.
Several years later, after we both had graduated, we ended up working at the same company. As a new hire, when I arrived at my first meeting, in my business suit, my husband's jaw dropped to the floor. He could not believe his eyes. It was me, and he crushed on me again (even after all those years). He pursued me again, and this time, I was open to him.
32i loved reading all these!!
33I met DH at a bar too - I approached him because he was so cute! We've been together almost 6 years now, married 2.
34I met my husband through my best gay-guy friend at a nightclub. He did lights and DJ'd there, as did my best friend. We were both in 7 year relationships (on and off again) before we got together, so we had a lot in common. My best friend kept trying to get me to talk to him... and I didn't at first because I knew he was going to be my husband.
I was very intrigued.. But I really wanted to ruuuuuunnnnnn even though my best friend kept telling me NOT to break his heart. I knew I wouldn't.. haven't and I won't. (We've been together 4years+.. I was worried it wouldn't last since we met at a club.. but his parents are still together and we have a firm family background on his side... and now wonderful family structure for our daughter. He is such a great father.)
(It's also funny because he wacked out cheating exgirlfriend kept trying to get me to go home with them one time, and I was like Um No. But later when she wasn't around I told him it wasn't him it was her. ha ha ha. We laugh about it now.)
35I met my husband on the shallowist of all websites: HotorNOt.com! Our success story is actually on their website! We've been married 2 1/2 years.
36It was sophmore year of high school. We met through a girl friend of mine at the library across the street from our high school. He was volunteer there after school. He was putting books away and my girl friend introduced us
37This are all great stories!!!
38My professor! But not while I was in school ohhh no that would've been messed up. I always thought he was cute when I was undergrad (very young, his first year teaching after he published his dissertation and acquired his PhD). We ended up at an Africana Studies conference together a few years later - I was a PhD student at Yale, and he was still teaching at my alma mater. It was initially very awkward, because I had no idea if he was interested in hearing about my post-grad work or if he was getting to know me. Eventually we overcame that and now things are grand.
39Kindergarten, actually.
40We met in high school. I went to a boarding school while he was at a local day school. We had some mutual friends and would see each other occasionally at parties, but didn't really know each other well. Apparently though he had a crush on me, so when I decided to transfer to the day school he was going to (I had a lot of friends there), he was psyched! We started hanging out and became really good friends. One night he told me he liked me, but I was caught completely off guard so I shut him down -- later that night I realized that I'd made a HUGE mistake, so I drove to his house, woke him up, and asked him out on a date -- luckily for me he said yes.
41We met at a music festival in Glastonbury in England. Oddly I was there by myself looking for folks to hang out with, and there he was. I wasn't intending to stay in the UK over a year, but five years later we're still together, living in Scotland (he's Scottish).
42I met my hubby in a hair salon I was manager of. He came in to grab some blueprints my dad gave me of their house, because Michael (my hub) was designing all their bathrooms and kitchen. Lol, he was all dusty and dirty from working...but so handsome through it all that when he left, I got a good "grilling" from all my stylists and the owner. Lol, I was not having it bc I thought he was a "construction worker" lol. Turns out, he's a very sucessful real estate developer. I gave myself a slap early on for the pre-judgement...and I'm glad I did bc he is a wonderful man who spoils me rotten and cares about our marriage!
43we met on a radiohead messageboard. we met up, spent a summer walking around london together, were friends for 3 years before going long distance, have been married for over 2 years.
44Orange is not Rachel Zoe's color! lol.
