I’m a sucker for a good drama, and when the seriously sad stuff gets ramped up, I have no shame in just letting the tears dribble down my face. But lately, it’s not just the dramatic moments that get me going; it’s the funny ones too. Something about the goofy, light-hearted scenes makes me nostalgic for old friends and being a kid again. I’m sure there are a few of you out there like me, so do tell, what movie moment makes you cry each and every time?

Repetto
Masini Gioielli
Pied A Terre
this isn't a light-hearted scene, but the part in "love actually" when emma thompson realizes that her husband's been cheating on her (kind of) when he gives her a joni mitchell cd at christmas instead of the necklace or whatever she found in his pocket... THAT scene makes me cry every time.
i have no shame about crying at movies. haha
1definitely A Walk to Remember and The Notebook are guaranteed tear-jerkers for me!!!
2Oh my god, there are so many moments that make me cry...I love to cry at movies, it feels very therapeutic.
- Beauty and the Beast, at the end where the Beast dies and Belle tells him that she loves him (I'm a Disney geek
)
- Casablanca, when Ilsa leaves on the plane
- Hook, towards the end where Peter's wife is sleeping in the kids' room after they have been kidnapped and she thinks that she is still dreaming when she sees the kids are back in their beds, but then Jack & Maggie (the kids) run over to her and the mom, Moira, starts to break down and cry.
- It's a Wonderful Life, when George Bailey realizes that he already has a wonderful life with his family and the townspeople come to their house to contribute money to prevent his bank from going under. I'm already bawling by the time they start singing "Auld Lang Syne."
- Little Women, when Beth dies
- Moulin Rouge, when Satine dies
- She's Having a Baby, I cry the hardest during this movie when Kristy is going through a difficult labor and then has to have a C-section, while Jake is waiting outside and reliving their memories together as the Kate Bush song "This Woman's Work" plays in the background.
- The Notebook, when Noah says "It's not over...it still isn't over" and then he kisses Allie in the rain.
I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of them right now.
3Mine is also in Love Actually, but it's the part at the beginning and the end that doesn't involve the characters. It's the part at the arrivals gates at Heathrow, and during 9/11 no one made calls of hate, everyone made calls of love, and there are all these real people finding each other in the crowds . . . Man, that gets me every time!
4Mine's from TV. Friends. The scene where Monica proposes to Chandler. Gets me every time.
5Totally Love Acually! But also Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.
6My best friends wedding. When they are dancing on the boat and he begins to sing into her ear and just as they pass under the bridge jules wipes her tears away.
Little Women. When laurie purposes to joe and she turns him down.
Unrequited love sucks.....
7Mine is from the classic "The Sound of Music." The love scene between Maria and the Captain makes me swoon, and I tear up every time. Soooooo romantic and sweet.
8The Notebook, definitely, and like many have already said Little Women. I just watched it this afternoon and I cried in like 3 different parts
9Brokeback Mountain ending. "Jack, I swear..."
Secrets and Lies final family confrontation
Cinema Paradiso final montage
The Lion King - when Mufasa dies
Love Actually Emma Thompson/Joni MItchell scene
The Pianist - Szpilman wandering through bombarded Warsaw - the World that went away
Besides scenes from Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, Schindler's List, Big Fish, The Elephant Man, The Hours, The Notebook, The Live of Others, Shadowlands,
pass me some kleenex
10Definitely Anne of Green Gables. When Matthew dies, and when Gilbert proposes to Anne!
11for sure the notebook towards the end when she doesn't remember him and the nurses are all trying to calm her down. and he starts crying...omg! it's sooo sad. more than anything, the pain in his face is heartbreaking. and when mufasa dies in the lion king...so sad! *tear*
12I'll second a walk to remember.
13The scene from "crash" when the little girl gets shot. The look on the father's face is so heartbreaking, I cry buckets every time!
14persephone - yes! In Anne of Green Gables when Matthew gives her the puffed sleeved dress and she thanks him in the barn. I always cry at that scene. And of course when he dies. So much of my childhood was spent in the fictional world of Avonlea.
I always cry when Beth dies in Little Women.
15I must have a hundred as well!
*P.S. I love You* the first time holly recieves anything from gerry on her birthday....actually the entire movie had me in tears!
*I Am Sam* when the foster mom brings sam's daughter back to him in the middle of the night and he asks if she'll tell on him if he tells her he can't do it alone. amongst other scenes.
*Step-Mom* the christmas morning scene at the end of the movie as susan sarandon gives each of her children their gifts she made and has a talk with them. gets me every time
*Ever After* when Prince Henry "rescues" her from Pierre Le Pieu's castle and says her real name for the first time as he propose's
*The Notebook* when the elderly version of Ally and Noah are having their date and she suddenly doesnt remember him and freaks out and Noah starts to cry as she's being sedated.
These are just a few but I could go on and on....!
*Sisterhood of the travelling pants 1* when Tibby is at Bailey's bedside
16A Walk To Remember! It Made Me Cry At The End When Landon Visits Jamie's Dad And When He's Outside And He Says [[His Thought]] 'Love Is Like The Wind..You Can't See It..But You Can Feel It..' :]
The Other Boleyn Girl - When Mary Walks In And Takes Elizabeth From Her Mother And Walks Out Of Court And Everybody Moves To Let Her Through! I Found That A Strong Moving Scene!
And Some Other Asian Dramas..They Make Me Cry My Eyes Out!
There's Loads More :] Ohh..I Cried Watching Gossip Girl And The OC!
17I'm such a crybaby when it comes to movies.
My Girl will make me cry every damn time i watch it, before anything even happens!
Beaches - the end
18The fox and the hound - It used to make me so sad as a kid

The Professional - Aww i loved Leon
Saving Private Ryan
Ladder 49
The War - Most things after the dad dies
Remember the titans
The Horse Whisperer
Titanic gets me every time :]
19almost any slightly angsty scene with a young girl and her dad will get me (bonus points if the girl is blonde). now that my father has passed away and i'm a mother myself, i hardly have to think too hard about a scene like this and i'm kind of gone. the one in the patriot (i think it's the patriot) when mel gibson's daughter finally speaks and says "papa don't go!" kills me dead.
on the lighter side, i can't help but cry happy tears at the end of sense and sensibility (when edward *finally* tells elinor how he feels). (again, if i think about it too much i'll lose it).
20ATONEMENT.. When I first saw the previews, i thought it was going to be an uplifting film.. boy was I wrong.
21The end of "Pay It Forward" when they look outside to see all the people holding candles...
22i couldn't tell you a certain scene......i always get all blubbery
at some point....someone
dying..men crying..old people..lovers parting ways...something happening to children..you get the drift
23-The English Patient: When he carries her dead body across the desert
24-P.S. I Love You: When Holly gets the tape on her birthday
-I Am Legend: When Sam dies
-The Notebook: Enough said.
The part where Boromir dies at the end of Fellowship of the Ring. I'm a sucker for Sean Bean.
25Gone With The Wind - when little Bonnie Blue died, heartbreaking.
26Lion King - when Mufasa dies.
The Mummy 2- when Evelyn (Rachel Weisz) gets stabbed by Nefetiti and Rick (Brendan Fraser) is crying.
Remember the Titans- when Gary gets into the car crash. "Don't tell me that, don't tell me that." I break a tear when he says that.
My Girl - at the funeral for the little boy. so sad.
Green Mile - when Percy didn't wet the guy's (can't remember his name, he had a pet rat) cloth and the guy dies a terrible death.
Gone Baby Gone- when Amanda is sent back to her mom, Idk but i shed a tear in that scene.
Hunchback of Notre Dame - when the hunchback leaves the tower and everybody is applauding him. Beautiful.
Finding Nemo - when the shark, or whatever it was, eats all the eggs and kills the mommy. Tragic!
Babel - when Cate Blanchett gets and her hubby B-Rad Pitt (in the movie of course) is trying to get her to a hospital.
Gloryroad - when they win the championship, when bad words were spray painted on their hotel walls, and when Nell get's beat up.
i dont think i have cried at a film since i watched gone with the wind at age 6ish and that was only because the horse died lol. o but i do love the notebook, thats a bit tearful
27Beaches-The whole movie! lol
28The Notebook-The whole movie too!
Wicker Park-At the end when they play the Coldplay song and they finally see each other in the airport! It gets me eevry time.

in love with her. When he finally tells Kiera's character that he loves her through the cards.
Moulin Rouge- When Satine dies. "All you need is love" *tear*
My Girl-The Funeral
If Only-Basically the whole movie too. haha
My Best Friend's Wedding-When she confronts her in the bathroom at the end. ETC.
So many more..
my girl- "where's his glasses? he can't see without his glasses!"
little women- when beth dies.
the shawshank redemption- when red is missing andy- "their feathers are just too bright and when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice, but still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. i guess i just miss my friend."
i also have a heard time with stand by me, dogfight and the lion king.
oh and i was bawling at the end of wall-e when wall-e had been restarted and it seemed as though he had lost his memory and personality. omg- i was a wreck! hahah.
29Steel Magnolias - At Shelby's funeral when M'Lynn breaks down saying "Why? Why?". I cry like a baby.
The end of Sweet November. Keanu Reeves pulls the scarf away from his eyes & Charlize Theron isn't there.
Stupidly enough - Sex and the City. Carrie is standing there in her beautiful wedding dress talking to Big and she realizes that he's stood her up. My heart just ached.
30I rarely ever cry in movies, but:
In the cartoon, The Iron Giant (based on the book by Ted Hughes), I actually cried when the Iron Giant sacrifices himself for humans and flies at the missle, declaring himself "Superman."
That flick was so awesome, yet so few watched it. My kiddo loves it.

33My Girl - @ the funeral (that scene still breaks my heart)
The lion King - when mufasa dies
Somethings Gotta Give - when (diane keaton's character)is waiting on
(jack Nicholson's charater)to i guess express his feelings for her.
Titanic - its pretty obvious
Their eyes where watching God - when halle berry's character had to shoot tea cake (thats scene breaks my heart)
I am Sam -
34i forgot about GHOST - @ the end
35Wadewifey, I thought that I was the only one who cried at this scene: The Mummy 2- when Evelyn (Rachel Weisz) gets stabbed by Nefetiti and Rick (Brendan Fraser) is crying.
Brendan and Rachel had such amazing chemistry as a married couple, I cried so hard at the scene and I was thinking "She can't be dead!" Thank God she wasn't...
I also forgot to include...
A Walk to Remember - when Jamie tells Landon that she has leukemia
Big Fish - when Sandra is told that Edward died in the war (even though he didn't), and when Edward dies at the end surrounded by people from his stories
Steel Magnolias - when M'Lynn cries after Shelby's death
Stepmom - when Susan Sarandon gives her children their Christmas presents at the end of the movie and has a talk with them, knowing that her breast cancer is incurable and that she will die soon

Titanic - when Jack dies, and when Jack & Rose are reunited on the ship at the end in "heaven"
My Girl - The funeral scene and "He can't see without his glasses!"
Lion King - when Mufasa dies
I included The Notebook in my first post, but i forgot to add the scenes where the elderly Allie forgets who Noah is and she starts freaking out, and then the scene at the end where they die in each other's arms
36I can't actually cry in movies... But if I get a little teary, then you know it's sad! The movies I get slightly teary over are:
-Titanic (typical)
37-Sisterhood of the traveling pants (the part where America gets upset because she's fat or something)
-Atonement (after the guy dies)
I forgot about sisterhood of the traveling pants when Amber Tamblyn is in the hospital with Bailey, I turned toward the sofa so nobody would know my eyes were watery!
38I also forgot...
A Mighty Heart - when Marianne (Angelina Jolie) learns about Daniel's death and gives out a heartbreaking scream & cries and cries...so sad
39Wall-E - when Wall-E forgets Eve after he has been restarted, and then he remembers her when she holds his hand.
all the aforementioned romantic heartache/love and people dying but also the scene in the last samurai where katsumoto is dying but he finishes his poem about the cherry blossoms.
40not a movie but the episode in nip tuck where megan decides to take her own life. and sean holds her hand til she goes.
...reading all these is making me cry.
Legends of the Fall... Samuel getting shot up during the war while caught in the wire as his brother watches
Lion King... When Simba goes to Mufasa after he dies and tries to get him to wake up then crawls under his paw & arm
The Fox and the Hound... I can't stand how the fox and the hound grip that they can't be friends since they are so different. It is not fair.
41A lot of the above...and the end of Pan's Labyrinth.
42i just cried during "harry potter and the goblet of fire" when cedric diggory dies and harry is transported back with the port key and cedric's body and is sobbing on top of him and cedric's father comes running down screaming "THAT'S MY BOY! THAT'S MY BOY!"

ET - gets me every single time, when he's sick after being discovered and when they race to get him back to the ship so he can finally go home
p.s. i love you - forget givin a single scene - it's more like the whole movie! lol
and recently - i watched the bucket list - when morgan freeman's character passes away and jack nicholson is talking at his funeral - and he crosses off from morgan freeman's bucket list - to make an impact in someone's life.... ugh...tear after tear...
AMELIE! Very ending where they finally meet. Then where she's lying in bed with his head on her chest. She's stroking his hair and hugs him. He's asleep but feels her hugging him and hugs back and when they're on the bike riding through the city together. Perfect ending.
Atonement- You have to be made of stone not to cry when you realize they didn't really end up together. When he dies holding onto the photo she gave him.
Vanilla Sky- Ending where he has to choose.
46A walk to remember- when landon drives all the way to his dads house and has that confrontation about helping jamie

47OMG to the people who said Atonement! I rented that and Becoming Jane for a sit-at-home-and-watch-chick-flicks night when my BF was out of town, thinking they were going to be happy movies. Well, Atonement made me cry so hard at the end that I actually threw up! It was SOOOO upsetting! (For the record, Becoming Jane was super depressing too. That was not a good night!!! lol.
That said, I'm a BIG crybaby. I bawled at the end of Dark Knight all three times I saw it! I remember even crying in Air Bud when I was a kid. God I'm LAME.
Also, Beauty and the Beast, Love Actually, I Am Sam, Walk to Remember, Harry Potter are all good ones that others have said. And Wall-E aaaaaah my boyfriend thought I was psycho.
So yeah I'm a crier. Songs too (Butterfly kisses anyone??).
OK this is getting out of hand! Sorry to be so long!!!!
48"Beaches", "The Notebook", and recently "Defintley, Maybe" made me cry.
49Finding Neverland!! Enuff said. The scene with Kate's son and Johnny Depp in the end (and everything that comes after it) KILLS me everytime.
