Though I’ve never had a particularly negative run-in with the law, I’ve often wondered who I would call were I ever thrown in the slammer. When I was younger, I was sure that I’d never call my parents, but as an adult, they do seem like the best people to phone if I were in a jam. Now, I know we’re all law-abiding citizens here, but hypothetically speaking, do tell: Who would you call if you were arrested?

6thats a good question.....depends on what i got arrested for....but since its just hubby and the kids that are the only family out here in OR...hubby it would be!
but i were back home...my best friend first....i'd have her bail me out...or else maybe she'd
be in there with me....
7ha, well, I have been arrested-- for being drunk in public. Stupid archaic Virginia laws. I called my roommate at the time, but she wasn't answering her phone, so I called her boyfriend who came & picked me up. Actually, it took forever to reach anyone, I just went between my 3 friends who lived in the area until my roommate's boyfriend answered.
It was the most ridiculous situation. My friend's friend was giving me a ride home from a party and he was drunk (this was the only mistake of the night--a BIG one, I definitely realize how stupid it was & I'm a huge advocate for the cab whenever drinking is involved now). He got pulled over & arrested one block from my apartment. The officer told me I could take his car (he consented), but I declined because I was drunk (so yes, I just admitted that). Then the officer told me to take a cab. I said I didn't have any cash and that I lived right there (pointed to my building), so I'd like to walk...and bam! he grabbed my arms and handcuffed me. I mean, really? REALLY was that necessary? I was calm and not argumentative--just pointing out where I live. I was not behaving irrationally or even drunk--I mean a minute a go the officer was telling me to DRIVE A CAR and now he's arresting me. They called out a female cop to search me and took me to the police station to meet a magistrate judge. They took my shoe laces (seriously, am I Maguyver or suicidal?). After I met with the judge I had to wait 4 hours to sober up or be released into the custody of a sober person--so that's why my roommate's boyfriend came. There was no bail or anything. The stupid charge was dropped after I went to court a few weeks later. I moved out of Virginia as soon as possible. DC has serious problems--they don't care if you walk home drunk.
So yeah, that was the one time anyone tried to set me up. Surprisingly, that relationship went nowhere. Oh, and to make matters worse, it was Halloween and we were dressed up. My outfit was OK, but he was "the guy who gets his paper from the lawn and locks himself out of his house." He was wearing long johns.
8holy crap that's long. sorry.
9definately my best friend.
10if i needed to get bailed out, he can just asked his dad, no questions asked.
he's spoiled like that.
I have been arrested and I called my mom.
11my mom or my friend..LOL!
12I can't even imagine getting thrown in jail, hahahah. I would probably be to embarrassed to call either of my parents. I would call a good friend of mine, (one of the crazier ones so they wouldn't judge, LMAO,hahahahhahahha!).
13Mom or the sis.
14Dad and then husband. Or reverse; don't know, never been arrested!
15haha. this is funny. probably one of my close friends. my family would have a heart attack.
16I'd call the boyfriend, I'm sure he would be able to handle everything from there (call my family, lawyer, etc)
17I would call my dad if he were home or my mom at work. If I ever got arrested it would be a mistake. My dad is a cop and he and my mom have bailed my sister out a few times and I would never do anything wrong to be brought into jail. I know my rights and for the most part all the laws of New York.
18my dad
19mom or boyfriend
20definitely my husband
21my beau... BUT he'd probably be beside me in the cell (im such a good girl, he's the bad boy) LOL so if not him probably his folks. My dads in another country so he wouldnt be any good! LOL and he'd probably only give me a story about how silly id been.
22I would definitely not call my mom since she said that if we were ever stupid enough to get put in jail she would put any effort into getting us out. So I'd call my cousin who is more like sister or my real sister.
23boyfriend
24Boyfriend. He can handle everything properly
25i guess it depends on what i was dumb enough to do to get arrested. if it was something minor (really - what's minor if you're arrested) i would call my fiance. otherwise - i might have to suck it up and call my parents and pray that they can help and get me out. i don't think that i would do very well in jail ...even for a few hours
26I would normally call my dad, but he's thousands of miles away, so he might not be of much help. I would call the only person that I am close to and lives closest to me, my boyfriend.
27Well....I don't know....considering I am someone who issues warrants and puts people in jail...including the stupid drunk in publics...FOR VIRGINIA none the less javsmavs. (And I agree, they go to the extremes sometimes...and certainly you aren't a common criminal, it's not even a jailable offense thats why you didn't have a bond. I can't believe they took your shoelaces though, thats a bit much!!!)
I would probably call my mommy lol.
28I've worked in law enforcement for almost 9 years - including an agency who had a jail. You NEVER know if someone's suicidal ... or trying to get a quick buck by "faking" suicide and then suing the jail because they "didn't take proper precautions" - so don't get upset. It's for everyone's safety. Most DIP's (Drunk In Public) are only arrested here where I work (Yes, a Virginia agency) if they're belligerent or won't listen to the officer when he/she tells them to stay inside ... but there's always a rookie who hasn't learned to pick and choose his "fights" - these are usually the guys who give tickets to the most piddly of traffic offenses, too!
But, to answer the original question - I'd call hubby if I were ever arrested.
29My boyfriend, Dan...he's a lawyer.
but if he weren't in the picture, i'd call my mom.
right after i call Jesus....
