The new plan for US withdrawal from Iraq would have US troops out within three years, with withdrawals set to begin next Summer if it's agreed upon. But, these troops had their big homecoming this week.

Troops from the Homestead Air Reserve Base returned to Miami after a six-month deployment to Iraq. The reservists' mission was to provide security at Kirkuk airbase. Judging from the pictures, their loved ones are so glad to have them back.

Thanks for making me cry first thing on a Friday morning, Citizen!
1this gives me chills. although i don't believe in war, so i don't think they should be in this situation in the first place, but their love is really moving.
2Awwww. I love these pixs! I can't wait for my boyfriend to come home too!!! :tear:
3So sweet. I can't help by tear up.
4My parents and a contingent of people from their retirement community go to a nearby airport and welcome the returning troops once a month. They just want to be there so the troops will know someone cares. Most of those who attend are WWII, Korean Police Action, and Vietnam War era Veterans as well as Patriotic Americans who support the Troops and want them to know how much their Service is appreciated.
One more item to make you glad you're a US Citizen, proud to be an American.
5Welcome home!
Coosa, that's a great gesture by your parents.
6Thanks for this - it seriously made my Friday!!! Yeah, troops!!
7These are such moving pictures!
8It's so nice to see pictures like this, but it always makes me sad to think about the bumpy road ahead. Re-assimilating into your family can be tough.
9When it comes to assimilation, resistance is futile.
(That's for the Star Trek fans)
