I've learned a few things over the years about men, but one that I never realized as much as I do now is how insecure they can be. And when guys are insecure, they tend to go out of their way to try to impress the girl they have their eye on. While having someone show off to you can be flattering, some people don't know when to draw the line, which in turn can leave you turned off instead of impressed. Has this ever happened to you? Do tell, has a guy ever tried to impress you so much that it had the completely opposite effect? Maybe he went the cheesy route or ended up making a complete fool out of himself — whatever the case, give us a reason to have a Thursday morning chuckle!

If I don't like him back, it totally grosses me out when a guy tries to woo me; even more so if he does it in public.
1So annoying when they do that..espeically if they want to appear smarter than they really are. It shows right through...
2All the time. And it's not cute!
3Absolutely! My least favorite kind of guy is the kind who loves to brag about himself--his job, the clubs he goes to, whatever. So unattractive.
4I agree with Jude C. There was thise one guy who kept on telling me how much money he has in his bank account. Umm, I really didn't need to know that. Also, one guy who plays basketball and apparently was good tried impressing me with his moves, but none of his shots went in the basket. I guess he was nervous!
5Eeew... just be yourself man! Such a turn-off.
6one guy kept on tryin to make conversation by tellin me stories and askin me if I had somethin like that happen to me and if I had similar stories to tell ... and he kept on pushin me ... he wouldn't take no for an answer ... like just back off dude ...
7My favorite are the kind that brag about other girls wanting them.
I'm always like, "Well, go date one of them then, they obviously like you more than I do."
8I'm really not into cocky guys in the first place so hopefully any guy that would try this wouldn't be into me either. My husband tries things from time to time to impress me but they always end up with him fumbling something which really is cuter than the big impressive stuff anyway.
9I went out with a guy once who informed me he was taking me to the most expensive restaurant in Salt Lake. When I arrived, he was at the bar trying to look important on the phone (which is quite a turnoff to me). At the table, ordering wine, of course, offered opportunity for much fanfare. He asked if I wanted an appetizer and I said no and then proceeded to order two and made me try both. He asked what I wanted to order and I said fish and he said although the fish is great here he didn't want me to order it because he would take me to the Riverhorse in Park City where I could try it there. So when he asked my order again I chose Halibut
He
enjoyed talking about how important he was and that he had two Austen Healeys and some other important cars..that I don't remember. When we left he made sure to show me the dinner cost $350.
He then took me to a jazz game and made sure to tell me he purchased a third $100 seat for our jackets and then was upset because we came at the beginning and he wanted to come at half time,
so asked if we could leave and go to the concierge room at the Marriott and have some wine until half time ~ since I'm not big on basketball I agreed. Then while having a glass of wine he
asked if I was into bondage:scared: At that point, I told him thanks anyway and called it a night. Turned out he was CEO over a local mining company where there was a major cavein resuling in
several deaths that year.
10That's when you order the fanciest stuff on the menu and then suddenly come down sick right after the meal, beg off to go home, and never answer his calls again.
11Actually, since I wouldn't let him pick me up and would only meet him, he asked that I call him when I got home which I forgot to do. He called in the morning and was clearly ticked that I forgot. Strangely I didn't hear from him again
12Yes, and it's annoying.
Also, I notice women who do that too for friendship (not romantic) intentions. That's off-putting as well.
13theres just something way cooler about the type of guy who doesnt seem to pay attention to his status with the ladies
14I prefer the strong and silent type.
15I hate when men open the car door for me then the door at the place we're going then pull out my chair and do ALL of those things. One is fine but when they do all of them right in a row it feels forced and kinda patronizing to me. I dunno, it's just me. The last guy that did that for me all the time decided that he was only into guys while we were going out so that might have ruined things for me.
16I could stand showing-off for only so long then I would lose interest in him because of those antics.
17I hate it when guys try to be smart, and they start talking about cars or the news, and I have to correct them. I don't try to be a jerk, but when they are using words that don't exist, don't make sense, or pronounce something wrong, I can't help but think they're an idiot.
I also hate it when guys brag about all these asians they slept with. I'm asian, and a guy would try to guess my ethnicity, and after like five wrong guesses, he'll try to look educated (?) by saying he only guessed wrong because after dating these different asian girls, I seemed to look more like another ethnicity than my own. Then, he'll rattle off all these other asian girls he's dated (Most being models), and try to explain what features are specific to each ethnicity. Uhh...I already know?
When I first met my boyfriend and he found out I was taking French, he tried to speak French, but his voice croaked, and he had to clear his throat, butchering the word. That turned me off a lot.

Soooo true!
19When will men learn that they just need to be themselves. There is a misconception out here about what women want. *shaking my head*
20Ha! Where to start? 1.) Men I'm not attracted to coming up to me in sleeveless T's to flex their muscles asking me if I'm vegetarian. 2.) Opening thier wallet & flashing $100 bills 3.) Monopolizing my time by talking too much about a subject & not allowing me to get a word in edgewize. 4.) Just coming off as a know-it-all. There's not a magical formula. Why can't they just be themselves? The best thing I enjoy is just talking about various interests and happenings, having fun, and taking a genuine interest in one another.
