I just came across these Manix ads for super-thin condoms. While practicing safe sex, these rubbers allow you to be so close to your partner that you actually become one. Now I'm all for ads that promote safe sex, even if they push the envelope, but my first reaction to seeing these was T-M-I!
Want to see another? Just read more.

What do you think of these Manix ads? Are they too in-your-face or are they perfectly portraying their product: a condom so thin you'll never feel as close?

O.M.F.G. That is way too inappropriate. I know I'm probably going to get a lot of bashing for being too "conservative," but this goes way over the line of decency.
1that is too much californiagirlx7
2and a little disturbing
but im just squeamish like that
Ew, too much.
3It doesnt really bother me as far as decency goes. I just think it looks wierd.I dont like it...its creeping me out.
4first thought was: thin condoms break easier, right?
5then I was disgusted by the pictures
eh. I guess I just came back from a month overseas and they are really not as prude about this stuff as we are.
6**chuckles**
These are ridiculous ads. They LOOK stupid: the absurd expressions, the moody black and white tones, the snort-worthy halo-riffic glow-beams radiating from their butt-cheeks -- rank cheesiness (and not of the good variety).
And I don't think they were attempting witty visual humor here. It seems like they meant what they did, for real.
Clearly, this campaign was conceived on the short bus.
7Is it the same guy and 2 different women? He better get thicker condoms!
8too much! we all know what sex looks like. why do we need to see it like this?
9Oh, and I'm not offended by what I see -- I don't find it indecent (although I wouldn't expose young children to this advertisement).
I just think it's goofy in a way that does not amuse.
10It looks like a human cloning experiment gone horribly wrong...
Yeah, I could do without seeing this...
11pjam --
I thought the same.
But, at closer inspection (don't worry; I wore protective eye-goggles) it seems that the man's nose is slightly different. Everything else seems identical, but the lower man appears to have a straighter profile of the bridge of his nose.
But it could be photoshopped.
I mean, the condoms are called Manix. Perhaps they are trying to attract men who have sex with multiple women and eerily morph into those women's body as an alien appendage that devours a portion of their being.
12lolol tmi, for sure.
13a nonny mouse you crack me up! That's what I thought when I saw the ad! It's very Men in Black!
14It looks like two aliens doing it...not appealing.
15not to mention the fact that that guy isnt even hot. Sorry if thats shallow, but c'mon. That guy looks like the dorky PTA dad that was behind me in line at Price Chopper last night.
16Wow, over the line. Way TMI.
17well then.. I don't think these adds should run in Seventeen magazine. Ha,I think it would be a better ad if the models were attractive.
18ummm.....
19yeah, that's awkward
Yea, I gotta agree the ads are just a little unnecessary. If you don't know what sex looks like, then you don't need the condoms to begin with. And yea, he isn't that attractive... A lot of guys in ads lately seem to be... less than average look wise.
20oh and I dont like how it looks like an deformed human...
21If the guy had a nice bum, I don't think I'd mind so much.
22yikes! well, where are these being displayed?
I'm all for safe sex (in nonmonogamous relationships) and for sex education(/educating my daughter when the time is right...), but those are a little over the top.
23Lol pippins_halfling ..is that the same guy? Either way those women seem kind of out of his league. lmao.
24I don't like the ads either. They remind me of Siamese twins, attached at the hip. To me, twins = siblings = sex??? Ewwwww. That's just my mental association.
Incidently, aside from reminding me of Siamese twins, these graphic images remind me of soft porn. That's another tacky association.
25airbrushed... hahaha what else did they airbrush?
26Um, that totally looks like the same guy to me. Look at his hairline - identical in both pictures!
27Very disturbing.
28ah, looks weird. it's too much.
29Goodness! I'm all about safe sex but um wow....
30Well at least as far as ad's do, it has done it's job. It's gotten plenty of attention. Regardless if it's a little strange. It made me look twice o.0
31I know how to have sex, I don't need to see pics this graphic!
32Ummm, like the completely naked people having sex isn't enough, them having their bodies squished together is just plain weird and creepy looking!!! :/ It would not make me want to buy those condoms! I don't want to be that close to my partner! lol!
33Oh, and I'm not offended by the sex scene either, it just looks stupid. And I agree he looks like a PTA dad, hahahhaha
.
34if these are shown in Europe its probably not so bad but to run these in the U.S. and Canada ... people are a little too prude.
35also, the second one looks so funny.
36Definitely TMI. Not only does everyone using these not only know what sex looks like, but that "to become one" is a common phrase for sex anyway. What are they accomplishing here? "Our condoms make you feel like you're having sex!" ... Naw. Really. Did they expect people to say "I never would've guessed! I just thought those stretchy things were for making water balloons with." Seriously.
Plus, they are seriously creepy looking, and I do think that it's the same guy in both pictures. Extra gross factor.
37absolutely repulsive. IMO
38I think they're hilarious but I'm easily amused so...
39I think it's fine if I'm flipping through a magazine (maybe.... well... I'd expect it in Cosmo or something), but not when I'm innocently browsing through Popsugar at work!!!! I had to scroll down really quickly.
40lol, i know huh, sundaygreen.
(for work or even if my daughter was standing over me it's kind of risky.. my husband and I looked and laughed at it ..and said maybe for Europe? and we love European porn.. after all it's much better than even American pornography. ......even though that was kind of soft-core corny.)
41i agree ... I was disgusted by the pictures
42I wonder whether there's a pair of legs running around with a fly's head calling "Hungry!".
I find those adds amusing. I'm sure one day it'll be used for future advertising people as an anti-example. *lol* However, since we're already talking about it, it kinda seems to have an effect.
43Stiil, this is extreme photoshoping gone wrong.
Yeah, they're kind of creepy. I actually think they would be okay without the fused bodies (not suitably for teenage mags, for sure), I like the moodiness and think that guy is actually kind of hot, at least hotter than those sleazy super muscular square jaw guys that you usually see in this kind of ads.
44WTF @ the fused bodies!
45At least it's not anal...
46They look gross to me. I wouldn't buy these products. It's just not enjoyable to look at and the whole orb-of-light thing is really cheesy. I'm all for hot ads, but there's nothing worthwhile about this indecency.
47It doesn't offend me but it's just plain tacky.
48I actually thought it was an ad for Gossip Girl at first..!
49avocado_seed, I thought so, too! Hahaha, how sad.
Anyway, after realizing it was NOT ad ad for Gossip Girl, I thought it was a bit tacky to have naked bodies in mid coitus like that. I hope that ad doesn't get plastered on the side of buses because it's pretty inappropriate. THEN, I was freaked out because their bodies are fused together. Eww! That's soo creepy!
I've seen less "sexiness" on a porno cover, so this is just plain UGLY. Also, there's too much silicon side boob in the second picture. I actually expected to also see her nipples!
