We all have a favorite song, whether it's of the moment or of all time. Music acts as a soundtrack for your life, reminding you of the good times and the hard times, and it can affect your emotions in an instant. Music helps us express ourselves and can help set a mood. We sing in the shower, sing in the rain, and sing our hearts out.
A song has the power to heal, to relieve stress and to boost happiness. And, sometimes, the lyrics in a song just sum things up best. So ladies, do tell, what are your favorite words in a song?

"Well, I could be condemned to hell for every sin 'cept littering." - Soul Coughing
that's the first one that came to mind...
1at the moment - Nickelback's photograph
2the words are so poignant...
"BABY GIRL'S WR0NG F0R ME, I KN0W IT BUT SHES GIVING HER ALL T0 ME, CANT LET IT G0 THIS THING IS TAKING 0VER ME! D0NT KN0W WHAT T0 D0 AB0UT THIS WR0NG, I CANT LEAVE HER AL0NE... I L0VE HER BUT SHE'S WR0NG" - 0MARI0N: WR0NG 4 ME
THATS THE S0NG, F0R RIGHT N0W! (VIS A VIS THE HER & SHE'S)
3There's this song I hear at work every day and I just love the words they're very uplifting. Its called something about you by level 42 (80s or 90s song)
Now
how can it be that a love
carved out of caring
Fashioned by fate
could suffer so hard
From the games played once too often?
But making mistakes is a part of lifes imperfection
born of the years.
Is it so wrong to be human after all?
Drawn into the stream of undefined illusion.
4Those diamond dreams they can't disguise the truth.
That there is something about you
baby
so right.
I wouldn't be without you
baby
tonight.
Remember when I was young and so were you
And time stood still and love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
We made love and then you cried
Remember when
Remember when we vowed the vows
and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when
Remember when old ones died and new were born
And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
And broke each other's hearts
Remember when
Remember when the sound of little feet
was the music
We danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we'd never give up
Remember when
Remember when thirty seemed so old
Now lookin' back, it's just a steppin' stone
To where we are,
where we've been
Said we'd do it all again
Remember when
Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and move away
We won't be sad, we'll be glad
For all the life we've had
And we'll remember when
Remember when
Remember when
i can imagine looking back on my kids where they are now when i hear it and it makes me cry everytime. life is brief
5"It's not that you can't see the forest from the trees, you've just never been out in the woods alone."
I can't remeber which song it is, but it's by Ben Folds Five off of their "whatever and ever amen" CD. It helps me keep in mind that some people aren't mean or bad, just sheltered and unaware.
6(I know it's lyric, but the whole song is what makes it)
Josh Pyke - Middle of the Hill
When I was a kid I grew up in a house on a hill
Not the top, not the bottom, but the middle
And i still remember where I cracked my head
In the vacant lot, there's a row of tiny houses there now
And we used to light fires in the gutters
And I could cool my head on the concrete steps
But the girl down the street hit my sister on the head
With a stick and we hid behind my father
As he knocked on the parents' door
To tell the them what she did
But the parents were drunk so they really didn't give a sh*t
And the girl down the street said my dog couldn't bark
'Cause a man with an axe cut its voicebox out
But my older sister told me that it prob'ly wasn't true
And I believe what she said 'cause she took me by the hand
One time when a coupla men drove down the hill in a white van
Said there was a phone box filled with money 'round the corner
And I woulda gone along but she took me by the hand
To the house in the middle of the hill
In the middle of the hill, in the middle of the hill
And my mother knew the words to a lot of different songs
And we'd always sing the harmonies, when we'd sing along
She had cold, cold hands when the fever hit
And then the noises that the trains made sounded like people in my head
And the stories that the ceiling told
Through the pictures and the grains in the pine-wood boards
And let me stay outside 'til the sky went red
And I could cool my head on the concrete steps
And you could never really see the top from the bottom
But I don't pay enough attention to the good things when I got 'em
And you could never really see the top from the bottom
I don't pay enough attention to the good things when I got 'em
7CHANTAL KREVIAZUK LYRICS
"Feels Like Home"
Somethin' in your eyes, makes me wanna lose myself
Makes me wanna lose myself, in your arms
There's somethin' in your voice, makes my heart beat fast
Hope this feeling lasts, the rest of my life
If you knew how lonely my life has been
And how long I've been so alone
And if you knew how I wanted someone to come along
And change my life the way you've done
It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I come from
It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I belong
A window breaks, down a long, dark street
And a siren wails in the night
But I'm alright, 'cause I have you here with me
And I can almost see, through the dark there is light
Well, if you knew how much this moment means to me
And how long I've waited for your touch
And if you knew how happy you are making me
I never thought that I'd love anyone so much
It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
8It feels like I'm all the way the back where I come from
It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I belong
It feels like I'm all the way back where I belong
I won't tell you the whole song
just the name okay. My favourite is thank you by
alanis morissette
9Landslide - stevie nicks: oh, i've been afraid of changin' 'cause i built my life around you....
10George Michael and Careless Whisper
I just love it!
11That I Would Be Good - Alanis Morissette-- The whole song is great.
12First of all thanks for listening to our song, I hope this finds you driving in your car. Whoever you are breath out and breath again, I know that life if hard but it's worth breathing. Listen to me now for love o love is waiting for you just to say here come better days
13I'm not saying that I'm replacing love for some other word, to describe the sacred tie that binds me to you. I'm just saying we've mistaken one for thousands of words, and for that mistake that's caused you such pain then I damn that word.
I love this one too.
14Couldn't stop myself from adding it
Echo by trapt
15Also:
Said I love you... but I lied - Michael Bolton
yes, yes... Im chessy, cant help it.
16lol deba that's okay
17theres a man assigned to me
and he checks on my stability
we discuss you every week
then i rinse and rinse repeat..
and he charges by the tear
till i weep no more strictly out of fear
that i cant afford your love
and the moon just burns above
total revenge by say anything
18"Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you"
~Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts
-and-
"Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
19Remember when youre talking to the man upstairs
That just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers"
~Unanswered Prayers by Garth Brooks

21- I watched you die
I heard you cry
Every night in your sleep,
I was so young
You should have known
Better than to lean on me
You never thought of anyone else
You just saw your pain
And now I cry in the middle of the night
For the same damn thing...-
Kelly Clarkson, "Because of You" - I wouldn't say that it's my *favorite lyric*, but it always gets me extremely emotional because I can relate.
22"So many nights we drove around
King and queen of the whole damn town
Voted most likely to succeed
We were everybody's meant to be"
"So let's find a bar
23So dark we forget who we are
Where all the scars from the nevers and maybes die"
"living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see."
strawberry fields forever, the beatles
for me, that lyric means that it's easy to buy into the culture that society tells you to buy into (things like american idol, stupid romantic comedy movies, fox news), so it's easy to live like that, accepting all that they are feeding you. it's harder to live life with your eyes open, seeing everything for what it really is, not accepting things and trends just because culture tells you to. look closer (to quote one of my favorite movies).
24"Music was the Lamb that made a Lion out of me"
25-from "Swallow Me" by Esthero
Awesome song, awesome artist.
You've got this look i can't describe,
You make me feel like I'm alive,
When everything else is au fait,
Without a doubt you're on my side,
Heaven has been away too long,
Can't find the words to write this song,
Oh, your love
"Like A Star" by Corinne Bailey Rae
26ESPNGirl same here!!
I think right now the song lyric def not the whole song lol but From Fergies Glamorous
"I got problems up to hear I got people in my ear telling me these crazy things that I dont want to hear"
I go thru phases of songs lol I never keep one long but music really helps me get through alot of things its great when you find that one song that really lets you let it all go.
27Who doesn't know what I'm talking about
Who's never left home, who's never struck out
To find a dream and a life of their own
A place in the clouds, a foundation of stone
Many precede and many will follow
A young girl's dream no longer hollow
It takes the shape of a place out west
But what it holds for her, she hasn't yet guessed
She needs wide open spaces
Room to make her big mistakes
She needs new faces
She knows the high stakes
She traveled this road as a child
Wide eyed and grinning, she never tired
But now she won't be coming back with the rest
If these are life's lessons, she'll take this test
She knows the highest stakes
As her folks drive away, her dad yells, "Check the oil!"
Mom stares out the window and says, "I'm leaving my girl"
She said, "It didn't seem like that long ago"
When she stood there and let her own folks know
She knows the highest stakes

The Kooks - Seaside Lyrics
Do you want to go to the seaside?
I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go
I fell in love at the seaside
I handled my charm with time and slight of hand
Do you want to go to the seaside?
I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go
I fell in love at the seaside
She handled her charm with time and slight of hand, and oh
But I'm just trying to love you
In any kind of way
But I find it hard to love you girl
When you're far away
Away
Do you want to go to the seaside?
29I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go
But I fell in love on the seaside
On the seaside
In the seaside
good one liza toad
30"I came here with a load
31And it feels so much lighter, now I’ve met you"
Green Eyes, Coldplay
It just melts my heart, I feel that way with the current love of my life.
I remembered another one by Modest Mouse on their album Good News for People Who Love Bad News
32The View:
"And if it takes sh*t to make bliss, well I feel pretty blissfully. If life's not beautiful without the pain, well I'd just rather never ever even see beauty again"
I felt like they were saying thoughts out of my own head, as I feel this way sometimes, in my darker moments.
I have a couple: I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints-Billy Joel
Someone out there is listening to the same song, feeling the same way that I do-Better than Ezra
"I'd rather be a forest than a street"-Simon and Garfunkel
I like everyone elses too and I am pretty sure I could come up with a hundred more of these!
33My favorite song changes like, every hour. But at the moment...
I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield
34And you don't wanna be here in the future
So you say the present's just a pleasant
Interruption to the past...
just all of "konstantine" by something corporate is amazing
35george strait - no matter how long or well you live you dont get anything you dont give -
36I love the lyrics from 10,000 Maniac's Jezebel that someone else already posted. I'm in love with so many songs I can hardly remember which my favorite even is.
Here are a few I like and can remember
Now I listen to my sweetheart and I listen to my thirst
I don't spend time listening to other people's words
Sometimes they're right most times the reverse
They say the best is for the best when the best's for the worse
-- Josh Ritter (from Best for the Best)
And so you see I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you
And as I watch the drops of rain
Weave their weary paths and die
I know that I am like the rain
There but for the grace of you go I
-- Simon and Garfunkel (from Kathy's Song)
i'm just something else he tried
a catalogue of interests in a catalogue of lives
i hid myself from him, i wouldn't say it was a lie
but hiding worked its way into the way we lived our lives
it was clear that he was troubled
he had trouble with his pride
but i could never tell if the fault was his or mine
so i drew myself away, i wouldn't say i left behind
a man who would never know the man he was inside
in a moment he was gone, i could see that he had died
by the quickening of blood and the fluttering of eyes
so i held him to my breast like all the better wives
who furnish men with love and never leave their side
i'm just something else he tried
the salt that's left behind after tears have dried
and i suppose that i'll go on, after all it was my life
and all that i supposed i held has come to be untied
-- Erin McKeown (the entire song A Better Wife)
Okay sorry I cheated and put more than one and put entire songs! I just love music so much and the lyrics too...
37Okay right now I love the song and lyrics to Amy Winehouse's My tears dry on their own. Its very important lyrics going through a break up for me....
And this regret I got accustomed to
Once it was so right
When we were at our height
Waiting for you in the hotel at night
I knew I hadn't met my match
But every moment we could snatch
I don’t know why I got so attached
It’s my responsibility
You don’t owe nothing to me
But to walk away I have no capacity
He walks away the sun goes down
He takes the day but I’m grown
And in your way
In this blue shade
My tears dry on their own
I don’t understand
Why do I stress the man?
When there’s so many better things at hand
We could've never had it all
We had to hit a wall
So this is inevitable withdrawal
Even if I stop wanting you
and perspective pushes through
I’ll be some next man’s other woman soon
I cannot play my self again
Should just be my own best friend.
Not f*ck my self in the head with stupid men
He walks away the sun goes down
He takes the day but I’m grown
And in your way
In this blue shade
My tears dry on their own
[ Lyrics found on http://www.metrolyrics.com ]
So we are history,
Your shadow covers me
The sky above ablaze
He walks away the sun goes down
He takes the day but I’m grown
And in your way
In this blue shade
My tears dry on their own
I wish I could sing no regrets
And no emotional debt
Cause as we kissed goodbye the sun sets
So we are history
A shadow covers me
The sky above ablaze
That only lovers see
He walks away the sun goes down
He takes the day but I’m grown
And in your way
My blue shade
My tears dry on their own
He walks away the sun goes down
He takes the day but I am grown
And in your way
My deep shade
My tears dry on their own
He walks away the sun goes down
38He takes the day but I'm grown
And in your way
My deep shade
My tears dry
Uhg love that song!

There are so many. I'll say one. It's that haunting song by Berlin, Take My breath Away:
Watching every motion in my foolish lover's game
On this endless ocean finally lovers know no shame
Turning and returning to some secret place inside
Watching in slow motion as you turn around and say
Take my breath away
Take my breath away
Watching I keep waiting still anticipating love
Never hesitating to become the fated ones
Turning and returning to some secret place to hide
Watching in slow motion as you turn to me and say
Take my breath away
Through the hourglass I saw you, in time you slipped away
When the mirror crashed I called you, and turned to hear you say
If only for today I am unafraid
Take my breath away
Take my breath away
Watching every motion in this foolish lover's game
Haunted by the notion somewhere there's a love in flames
Turning and returning to some secret place inside
Watching in slow motion as you turn to me and say
Take my breath away
46My love, take my breath away
