i find myself to be a realist. but depending on the situation, i usually try to be more optimist, but it's usually really difficult.

Too much optimism can be close to a lie and too much pessimism can be depressing so I'd say I'm a realist- I call em' how I see em'.

But deep down I'm fundamentally optimistic. I will always make the best of what happens in my life no matter what.

I consider myself a realist, but a lot of people think of me as a pessimist. I just hate having expectations for anything, because then I'm usually disappointed so I try to expect the worst but hope for the best.

i'm pretty pessimistic. especially since i got this new job that's slowly making me insane.

i think i just naturally expect the worst with things. i should start yoga or something positive like that.

props to the realists and optimists i swear that saying, "life's a b*tch, then you die" goes through my mind at least once a week.

I'm an optimistic realist. I tend to look at the situation overall, and I know when to have which perspective.

Optimist. I always look for the good in things and people and have a happy overall disposition. I am usually not disappointed though when things do go wrong. I just shrug it off and continue my optimism towards other things.

I am the eternal optimist,I believe that it will all turn out right in the end.I never give up hope..ever!

My mother always told me to "Hope for the best but be prepared for the worst." I don't think I hope for the best - I just think I'm doomed in any situation! And then it usually turns out more than ok.

I try to be a realist in some situations but lean towards the optimist. Like you, Kathleen, I find I don't become dissapointed when things don't work out. Less stress and anxiety is best- I don't want fine lines in 20 years! I'm fighting them hard and I think attitude helps!

I'm kinda both.

I want to consider myself a realist, but I know I'm a hopeless romantic (definitely optimistic in that department), and people closest to me say I'm a pessimist. So, I said I was a bit of both. I strive to be a realist, though!

Also...I agree about expecting and preparing for the worst, but praying for the best. I'm not religious, but boy, do I hope!
