Argh. For everything the Governor of California does that I like, he does something that drives me nuts.
1TOTALLY, torg!
2I'm so excited about water on Mars! Time to start colonizing
3I am really worried for those employees of the state of California - with such a big drop in their wages, how will they be able to make ends meet? I find it rather infuriating that he would take the poiticians' inability to get it together out on the workers.
4The California State Controller has said that he will not comply with this order. The employee's union is taking it to court.
However--and this is purely an observation, you can make your own conclusions--I suspect this will impact the quality of work from state employees. A co-worker yesterday (Friday, Aug. 1) tried to call the California State Teacher Credentialing office. Twice, the phone was picked up and hung up, without a word.
When Ahnold announced he was going to do this, I said he was just taking the employees hostage over the budget crisis. I still believe that.
What people often don't think about is: California Highway Patrol and prison staff are state employees. Not people I'd want to aggravate.
5Regarding Pelosi's refusal to bring *anything* to a vote, the use of procedure to stifle the will of the people is a rape of the system. I don't care which party stonewalls an action.
If you really think a bill is a bad idea, open it up for discussion and vote, that's the quickest way to discredit it.
Pelosi's unbounded sense of entitlement in thinking she knows better than all our elected representatives is scandalous and proves her epic arrogance.
6I think Pelosi finally read Newt Gingrich's play book.
7I have to say Lainetm that your avatar terrifies me.
8Aw, Harmony, I don't mean to be scary. I have just loved Wonder Woman since I was a kid. I mean, she's a princess *and* a superhero. How cool is that?
9No TOTALLY cool....She just looks a little possessed in that shot. Here you go!
