Age is a funny thing. Although it's just a number, many people in this world have a hard time admitting what year they were born. And with all the medical advances we have, it's harder than ever to even guess! I understand the concept behind lying about your age on a resume, but lying to friends or potential mates just doesn't make sense to me. Sure, admitting that I'm 30 is a harsh reality, but what good is it going to do if I tell people that I'm still 27? Even though it's silly, tell me ladies, do you lie about your age anyway? Don't worry, your secret is safe with me!

i look really young for my age, so there's no point in lying about it.
1I look really young for my age. People think I am 25 and I am actually 38.
2no but i'm only 21 so i've never felt the need to.
3Not yet. I am only 21 so I still have a while to go before I even consider that.
4Nope...
I'm 32 & loving it!
5I'm 33 and people just started calling me Ma'm, which totally freaked me out! Lol
I
usually hear that I look to be 26 or 28, not what I would wish since when I was 21 and 22 everyone wanted to think I was 18 and I consoled myself then with thinking 'well at least when I'm 30
I'll look 25" LOl! Guess not... kids will do that to you
But no, I don't bother
lying about my age
6I think age is just a number.
justanerd, I call every woman "ma'am" regardless of what age they look ... so don't take offense!
I just always try to be polite
7No, I'm comfortable with my age.
However, whenever I disclose my age, I receive a lot of surprise reactions. THAT makes me uncomfortable. I look very young for my age. I'm in my 30's, and I've been mistaken for a high school student. I'm not exaggerating. One time, I accompanied my husband to his doctor's appointment. When I told the nurse he was my husband, the nurse exclaimed,"You're married?? You're just a little girl!" My face turned beet-red. I quickly excused myself, and waited for my husband in the car. I was so embarrassed. The irony is that my husband and are close in age. He's only two years older. No calls him a "little boy."
8I'm only 23 and I look 12 (really, I still get kids menus at restaurants and stuff) so there would be no point in lying. Whether people believe I'm really 23, that's another story.
9Nope not yet at least
I love being 21!
10I don't see the point. I'd find it much more flattering to be 35 and look younger and state that I am actually 35 and have people say "Wow! You look great!" than lie and say I am younger and have people think "Meh, she looks average for her age."
11I have no reason to lie about my age. Most people think I'm 15 or 16 when in fact I'm really 19. That is a good thing.
12i'm only 20, so theres no need to..yet
13People call me ma'am and i'm only 19! I'm always hoping people are just being polite and don't actually think that I'm a ma'am yet. I do look a little bit older for my age and I always have but i think its mostly just the way I carry myself, I'm very confidant.
14Never have and don't think I ever will. I also look younger than my age.
1523... I look 17. I never lie, but they never believe me anyway.
16No, i dont lie about my age. People said i look 17 and i'm 20 years old.
17No need I'm only 20! But most people think I look older than I really am anyways. I have a sister that is 5 years older than me and when we went to move her into college they asked me for my information instead of hers, I was only 13! Hahaha that story still gets my family laughing, but not so much my sister who doesn't appreciate how young she looks!
18nope, i'm 31 and proud of it! why should i lie? getting older tells/shows me what i've done with my life, whats been accomplished, why hide it?
19One piece of advice - decide by the time you're about 33 if you're going to lie. Past 35, and there are too many things you have to remember to be convincing. And moisturize your neck, chest and hands!
20im 21 and i get told i look 16 or so...awesomeness for me!
21no, i don't see the point.
22Once, when I was 16, I lied about being 18, so my mom didn't have to skip work to wait for the computer repair guy. A few times, I also had to call customer service for my parents, and I pretended to be my father or my mother, and told them I was born in 1959 or 1964...Hahaha.
23I don't tell no tales.
24Just the truth.
No, theres no point. I too look young for my age but thats not the point. I feel proud with each growing year for the things i have accomplished and learned.
25I'm 24 ... I haven't lied about my age yet but I'm not ruling out doing so in my future!
My mother actually lies about her age and says she's actually OLDER than she is, just so that people will compliment her and tell her that she looks really young. Lol
26There have been times where I lie and say that I'm older, but that's only to bartenders
27I'm 26, I look like I'm 21. My boyfriend of a year is 21 haha.
28I look young for my age...but I am 21 and that's good enough for me so I don't lie!
29people think i'm lying even when i'm telling the truth.
30When I was 26, I tried to board a plane by myself and the ticket lady asked me where my guardian was. I wanted to punch her in the face. I don't mind looking younger than I am, but I worked hard to get where I am in life and it's an insult to be mistaken for a child. It's better now. Only half of the people selling me alcohol roll their eyes at me thinking I'm underage & trying to sneakily buy a bottle of wine.
31nope! First off, I believe that each year is a blessing so Ima show off my age. Secondly, I look about 6 years younger than I really am so whenever I tell people my age I always get the "NO WAY!!!"
32Nope. I'm 37 and I still get IDed at grocery stores, restaurants, bars, etc. However, I noticed I have some grey hairs sprouting up so that may give me away soon. Time for a dye-job!
33i'm 22 and i get mistaken for 15-18 all the time. it's really, really, really annoying.
javsmav- i know how you feel. last year, when sitting down in the exit row of a plane, the attendant said to me, "Honey, you have to be at least 15 to sit there."
i would give anything to look older! ugh... at least my age!
34i'm 24 and still get carded while buying alcohol of course, but what i really find ridiculous is when i get carded at the movies. that means i look under 17! pleeeeeeeeeeease.
anyway i don't mind being mistaken for being younger than i am because i am currently dating a younger man (by 4 years) and the last thing i want is to look significantly older-- i'd rather us look the same age! (which i hope we do)
35When I was younger , like in my 20's and early 30's, I used to lie about my age because I used to be always around with younger people. That was because I was the oldest among my siblings and also because the work I did before involved a lot of socializing with younger and young-minded people. Now that I'm older, (I'm 40 now), I have actually embraced the idea of growing old --that we can't escape that and everybody gets old anyway. Besides, now that a lot of people think I look 25 at age 40, I feel much better telling the truth about my age anyway. It's better to hear them saying, "Oh you're 40 and I thought you were 25".
36i'm turning 30 this year and have been waiting for it like it's my 21st. i've never been so anxious and excited for a birthday. it's been like this since I turned 22 or so, i'm just ready.
37i'm only 20 and look young for my age. i smoke cigarettes though and before i was legally able to buy them (at 18 in australia) i used to pretend i was older.
38I'm 18, it'd just be silly to lie about my age. Especially when everyone thinks I'm 15 and my husbands my older brother.
It's definitely good for laughs.
39I (somewhat jokingly) tell people who ask that I'm older than I really am, 'cuz I figure it's better to say I'm 45 and hear "Wow, you look great" than to say I'm 34 and see the look of doubt in their eyes. (I'm 39)
40Mac228 That's adorable
41I feel like I have to lie about my age- I have had so much age discrimination in my life that I have been pushed to it. People initially think that I am younger - more than 10 years younger- and I do live like I am a younger person- but when they find out my actual age - they think that I am not the person they thought I was and I will not be capable and not worth investing in- I need people to believe in me so that they will not close the doors on me. When they find out my real age- they do- so what choice do I have but to lie? .... I am an actor.
