Would you pay a "celebrity premium" to scoop up the former Phoenix house of John and Cindy McCain? The current owner is selling the abode (Cindy's childhood house, and the McCain's residence for 20 years) for a cool $12 million — four times more than the current owner paid Cindy for it in 2006. That's a lot of air conditioning. Though the decor has been updated from the McCains' time, the jungle bedroom is . . . specific. If it's your taste, you're in luck: the furniture (including leopard-print dining chairs) is included.
The 14,000-square-foot home, with 13 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, could leap in value if the senator is elected. Not to mention, the McCain family handprints in the cement outside are pretty precious. What do you think — would you move in?

Ed Hardy
So I guess McCain is pretty confident he'll have a place to move in a few months?
1"four times more than the current owner paid Cindy for it in 2006"
2I don't think I would want to live there. How do you keep all those bedrooms clean?
3Dave, it's clear you and I don't have the kind of money needed to buy the house. Those people never worry about who's going to clean or it how.
4That's one hell of a childhood home.
5You're right. Before I'd buy a home this big, I'd buy one half the size, and hire a couple people to clean it.
6You can't blame someone for being terrifically wealthy. But it could make it harder for him to understand that the poor Americans who are struggling with this economy (layoffs, subprime home loss) are not just whiners.
7UOOOOWEE! The Rock Hudson style pool parties I could throw at this joint. I'd be in heaven.
8I was just thinking the places I could hide while playing "hide and seek" with my children. I am definitely a lame dad now...
9That house is spectacular. The pool and patio are gorgeous of course I'd gut the interior to get rid of the old man smell and bland styling but I;d take it if it wasn't in Phoenix.
Hmmm...I think it's funny that it's actually HER family's house not "their" or "his" house. Go Cindy!
10I already placed my bid kids. I'll see you at my next pool party
11I like the place.
12Janneth, this wasn't his home growing up, so I don't think we can judge his wealth based on this house. It came from Cindy's family.
Hunter, I'm packing my bags to come visit!
13It looks like a beautiful home, but the decorating is a little...bold, for my taste. The shiny silver pillows on the couch aren't really my thing.
How long has it been since the McCain's lived there?
14The decorating is definitely not my style either Jill! Of course, I've never had to decorate a house that large...
I guess we would find ourselves agreeing more on CasaSugar.
15It's hard to imagine my style in something that big.
16Good grief!! Did you see the size of that bedroom?!?
17Tiff! I will have a sugar party... wear your best
18These foreclosures are really taking a toll!
19the whole jungle situation isn't really my style. maybe the bushes will find it appealing.
20Yeah, the decorating is not so much my style, either.
And McCain didn't grow up rich by any means. He was a military brat; his father was high-ranking, but, as we all know, those in the military typically earn significantly less than those doing jobs at the same level in the private sector.
21Did they pay their taxes on this one? Heard they have problems with that.
YEah, must be nice.
22Since it was her family's home, I doubt they would have had to pay taxes on it. Do you have any facts to back up your accusations?
23Do a search on McCain and property taxes. It's in the news.
24I did a search well before you responded. Firstly, the stories are about Cindy, not John McCain, second of all she was 3 months behind in paying $1,700. I would hardly consider that a big problem or a scandal.
25They called Obama an elitist, these people are super-elitist.
26No one who's this rich understands the plights of the middle class and that's no lie
