Top Ten Newscasters That Push My (Remote) Buttons
Think you have a pretty good idea how TV news insiders would talk about Bill O'Reilly and Keith Olbermann behind their backs?
Radar went looking to confirm those suspicions
in their feature "Head Trauma: Insiders Reveal Television's Most Hated Pundits." Sounds good, right? There are juicy quotes aplenty like this about Keith Olbermann: "He's just a full-blown, red-in-the-face screamer," followed by, "his disregard for those beneath him is almost comical." Ooh. And we thought O'Reilly was
the screamer.
The
Radar list of hated new folks reminded me of the
Maxim list of
sexiest news anchors (hey, I have a brother. I hear things) and I'm convinced that surely there must be a middle ground. What's between love and hate? Ah, the all powerful remote button. Here are the top ten newscasters, that while I'm sure are lovely people, make me change the channel.

Chris Matthews is annoying! (Not that he's part of your slideshow, but he was on the Radar list.) I almost threw something at the tv last night when he was on the Tonight Show.
1What, no Nancy Grace? Have we forgotten that young woman in Florida who killed herself within a day of being grilled by her?
From "The Smoking Gun", November 2006: "On September 8, a day after her interview with Grace, Duckett used a shotgun to kill herself. While Florida police have described Duckett as the prime suspect in her son's disappearance, they have said they believe the boy may still be alive." Her parents sued for wrongful death.
Besides, her style really irritates me, I can't even watch promos for her show.

I love Glenn Beck. His radio show is easy to listen to, but I have never watched his show. I like his humor.
5I actually kind of like Anderson Cooper, but a lot of that is based on the fact that he seemed funny on My Life on the D-List. It moved him up a few notches in my book.
6I know what you mean, kim, I love Brian Williams after seeing him on the Daily Show. I secretly have a crush on him, I think its the old school looks.

13I can't imagine taking a job with O'Reilly or ANYONE else, who'd behave like such a jerk. My self-respect outweighs my interest in ratings.

Can't stand Nancy Grace, Brit Hume, Robert Novak is the biggest BORE on the planet. Geez, there's too many to list.

Sean Hannity should also be on the list. He's worse than Bill Oreilly
23Don't watch too much TV, but the one time I watched Anderson Cooper he made numerous mistakes, tripping over words, etc., and I thought, "What's all the hype about?" Didn't see a lot of substance there...then again, image and no substance is the American way these days, sadly enough.
