Everyone gets angry, but some of us tend to snap more easily than others. Maybe it's a frustrating customer service representative or an irritating comment from a family member, but suddenly your anger flares up in a bout of bad temper. Fortunately, I don't get heated easily, but I'd be lying if I said that stress didn't bring out my temper. Are you prone to fits of fury?

I usually have a long-suffering slow simmer, but my boil is a powerful force of reckoning.
1(I would admit that I have an irritability issue when I'm stressed far greater than any anger outbursts.)
2My temper worsens dramatically when I'm stressed (or tired or hungry), but I don't really explode, just get sort of snide and impatient.
3I agree with Jude C! I get really annoyed, sarcastic and impatient.
4I'm with Jude C. Snide and impatient are perfect descriptions of me when I'm stressed out... which is a lot here lately. -_-
5I am pretty restrained with my anger, but when i am tired i get kind of fumy.
I was exhausted yesterday, went to a movie (a rare treat for us) with my hubby. During the movie the dude about 4 seats away kept flipping open his cell phone and texting, very distracting. Finally in a quiet moment, I leaned over and said "excuse me can you not do that" He just looked at me, he proceeded to do it twice more, and I actually got up, sat next to him and said, "you light that thing up once more and that big guy next to me is going to bash your F-ing face in"
I have a large husband. who has a worse temper than I do.
6I am finding that my patience is running a little short these days. Not sure for the exact reason, I guess I am just feeling spread too thin between work and home and personal stuff. I am like most of you, though, I don't yell, but get a bit rude and snide.
7I used to have a very bad temper. It has cooled as I have grown older but I had some rage when I was younger. Yelling, screaming and throwing things was part of an argument for me. Some people have a problem with temper and I have found that therapy really helps me to refocus and control myself. I can still snap if I am stressed or tired but it is never a proud moment for me. Shameful but the truth.
8I'm the same way Martini. I don't yell or pick arguments but I have been told that I get really short with people...which is true. Hunger is a trigger too...don't ever cross my path if the tank is running on empty!
9Yep, when I'm hungry I suddenly hate everything and everybody in sight.
10I have never in my life actually yelled. I'm about as laid-back as they come.
11I've got a terrible temper. I'm actually trying really hard to control it but sometimes the only way I can is to leave the situation that's pissing me off and physically walk away. I am pretty understanding when someone presents me with a "challenging situation" (I think that's patronizing therapist talk for "anything that pisses you off") and they're calm, rational, and sympathetic about it, but when people are utterly incompetent and also RUDE, then I will really fly off the handle. I find it really hard to keep my cool. Like, I was in this really really long line at a popular bakery in Notting Hill a few weeks ago and the woman behind me snapped, "Can you move forward please? There are people behind me." I looked at her and said calmly, "I'm in the queue, and the person in front of me is being served." She retorted, "Yeah, so can you mmove?" Ok, I nearly lost it - I turned and said very loudly (but not shouting, because that would be embarrassing), "HOW CAN I MOVE, if THE QUEUE ISN'T MOVING??" Finally she shut up, because the two women in front of me were like giving me the thumbs up and snickering at the b*tch behind me. Now that you've got me going, can I just say I hate dealing with mobile phone companies and credit card companies over the phone? I've had great experiences with some and some REALLY not so great experiences with others. What gets me the most is when I'm calling because there has been a mistake in my account DUE TO THEIR ERROR, and they either straight out deny it, accuse me of lying, or tell me I'm flat out wrong, without even TRYING to look into the issue! Ok I'm done now
12OMG that was so long, I'm embarrassed!
13Wow, Catepillar. That's some exhaustion you got there.
14I get fired up at the slightest things but I usually get over them very quickly too
15OH, yeah, the hungry button Lovlie - I have to have food or I am a total B!
16I'm pretty laid back, and I don't think I've ever REALLY been angry- but when something/someone is being irritating, I've been told that "the look" I give could burn holes in rock! I'm a redhead, too and people always make that stupid "ooo, you must have a fiery temper". Uh, no- but if someone else says that to me, I just might start!
17i have a temper but its not like i always go from zero to b*tch. if ive had a bad day, am tired of traffic...my fuse is shorter
but i have a temper--just not like i freak out all the time
18i've got a temper on me. its not pretty. i get mean, petty and sarcastic. pms brings out the general in me. my kids fear me, my husband disappers into the garage. and the my house is the cleanest its gonna be for the month.
19my mom makes me go nuts, my cordless phone has been thrown to many times to count, it know echos and statics all the time.
but surprisly, hubby and i dont' fight.
I have a bad temper, the smallest thing could tick me off. I hold my anger in though, which leads to alot of built up stress (not healthy however I do not want to lash out at someone for a silly little issue.) I'm a perfectionist so my temper flares when I clean & organize items and someone messes up my work or ignores how I have things organized. My temper isn't violent at all, more verbal. Especially if someone is mean to me, I will let them have it.
However like I said, I keep 99% of my temper internally. I put on a smile when really I'm stressed out. I am calmer than I used to be. I may have a temper however I do not like to fight.
20I should add that people know when to back off because my emotions show right on my face an din my eyes. So when I'm grumpy/angery I'm known to give a certain look; eyes narrowed, jaw clenched, eyebrows lowered and sort-of scrunched together. I do not even know I'm giving the "look" however obviously I must since people recognize it,lol.
21I'm very ill-tempered. I do try to limit getting mad/annoyed/sarcastic, but I just can't help myself. However, if I'm really stressed out, I don't get mad or annoyed easily... which is weird.
22I get annoyed easily, and the only way to let me calm down is to leave me alone. Unfortunately, my boyfriend, the problem-solver, constantly nags me about what is bothering me, despite my refusal to talk. That boils over to a fight. I'm actually considering taking anger management classes at my university when the quarter starts back up. I can be such an angry b*tch, it even scares me!
23I don't really have a bad temper. I can get impatient and irritated, but i don't get crazy.
24I sit down and write furiously when I'm angry.
I wish I was better at the art of the verbal smack-down, though.
25It takes quite a bit to get me mad, and I don't stay mad for very long. If I'm pushed and bullied long enough, though, I tend to flip out and yell.. but that's only really happened three times in my 22 years.
26I don't get angry very easily, and even when I do it's fairly restrained.
27not only do i have a bad temper but i'm pretty aggressive as well. i'm probably a prime candidate for anger management. the one thing i've gotten better at though is picking my battles because sometimes it's just not worth it.
28i wasnt an angry person before i got together with my bf. he makes me mad so much that now i get fed up of every little thing he does. lol. he deserves it, because he was the one who made me like this. but i dont get pissed at other people. just him
