I am so tired of seeing women's bodies and sexuality used to sell products. It's not even shocking to me anymore, just tacky. On the left, American Apparel thought it'd be a great idea to show a young woman simulating (I hope) masturbation to sell socks. On the right, Tom Ford places his fragrance for men in the glistening crotch area of a woman's naked body. Ugh. What's tackier?

I picked the perfume ad. gross! I wonder how long it will be until all our advertisements are worse than this.
Tom Ford is supposed to be high fashion... Have some class!
They are both bad! I have a love-hate relationship with American Ap because I love the dresses and the colors they offer but their models look so cracked out and then this ad is just too weird- but the TF one is more tacky!
I agree with cmd0610. I love AA, but they need to tell their models to wear a bra because a lot of their tops are sheer. I understand if it was runway, but this is catalogue! As for Tom Ford, all I have to say is "Shame shame".
TF is a bit much for my taste but hey sex sells or so they say
the girl in the American Apparel ad is a pornstar! I think a couple of their models are, in fact. I also have the love-hate relationship with AA. I try to avoid seeing ads like these because they just kill me.
I HATE the AA ads. This Tom Ford one could be a 'one off' whereas AA are CONSISTENTLY repulsive and tacky.
The AA link doesn't work.
I chose AA because the moaning girl just seems tackier to me, plus it looks like a pic I would take of one of my friends while drunk and being stupid in her garage or something (not that I usually do that type of thing, but I guess I'm trying to say it looks amateurish) which just makes it even more tacky. Then again...the Tom Ford one has oil...
The greased up plastic look of the Tom Ford ad did it for me.
They're both in poor taste, but Tom Ford just had to grease up his model like a baking pan with Crisco. And wouldn't you just hate to have the job of photoshopping that chick's nether regions?
The way Tom Ford positioned his perfume would lead one to wonder what the point was he was trying to make
I picked that, but they are both utterly stupid ads.
I chose the first one... mainly because it looks cheap and tacky and it looks like its supposed to be that way. Also, they are actually screaming SEX when the other one is more subtle and artsy.

They're both pretty bad.
I picked AA... Simply because all their adverts look sleazy.
I'm not a big fan of AA... but I find it funny that there's a ad for it on teamsugar... just as I'm making this comment...
I say the TF ad is worse.. for a couple reasons. At least the AA ad appears to be current. The TF ad looks like it is a couple decades old... the oily bronzed skin like that just isn't attractive now. But the second issue I have is this: In the TF ad.. just what does the stuff smell like? I mean, I can take a guess, but someone else already did it at http://www.smellmeand.com
Honestly they are both disgusting. I hate the American Apparel ads!!
American Apparel doesnt hire models. The creator and owner of AA, Dov Charney, is insane. Charney takes many of the photos himself, often using company employees as models as well as people he finds on the street. "Meet Melissa," reads one print ad, which pictures a comely brunette in a shower and a see-through shirt. "She won an unofficial wet T-shirt contest held at the American Apparel apartment in Montreal."
I highly doubt any of the girls are porn stars, just average girls with some average guy taking pictures with an average camera in his apartment. Check out the models: http://www.americanapparel.net/gallery/photocollections/models/index.htm...
I don't get it , does the new Tom Ford ad smell like lady business, can't imagine my man would want to go around smelling like a vagina all day.
Tom Ford...now thats just distasteful... As for AA- I too ( as most of you) have a love -
hate relationship with them, though "I GET it"...yeah.
