Do I care if neighbors hear me? Not so much. But roommates, friends... people who would reasonably be in my home? Yeah, I care, and I wouldn't do it if they were around, simply out of respect. Similarly, when I lived in a dorm with my sorority sisters (houses outlawed, blah blah blah,) I wouldn't do anything loud in my room, because I respect them more than that.

If something hurts, I bite my lips, when I listen to music I put it in the lowest volume, etc, when I go to the bathroom to do #2 I actually open the water faucet so people outside that pass by won't listen to those "other sounds", when I indulge myself at the very best I bite my pillow, but it usually ends up in a lot of drooling (gross, and too much information, I know!).
So I guess that I would even be too inhibited to have the person next (or on top, or under, or behind... ) to me hearing anything at all.

Oh my god... in the house I lived in last year, there was this completely pervy guy who's room shared a wall with mine and my boyfriend's room. I could never have sex while he was around... I always had a sneaking suspicion he'd up a glass up to the wall to listen or something. SO creepy.

Just like I would never have a conversation so loud that my neighbors could hear, I don't get why people need to be so loud for sex. It's just rude. Maybe someday I'll let loose when we have a detached house, but for now I'm an apartment dweller, and I try to be a respectful neighbor.

I don't care if people hear us. Personally the more noise she makes the more into sex I get. When people are in the same house I do try and show respect but if my partner and I are into it and she is making a lot of noise I am not going to take away from her pleasure by trying to silence her in some manner.

he doesn't care who hears....hears him at least. i'm so quiet when we have sex, if it wasn't for him, you'd never know. i've sooo got to get myself to learn to be comfortable to make noise, i know he'd appreciate it.
it really doesn't bother me to hear other people, as long as i don't have to explain it to my kids.

i agree with chatondeneige. i don't care if my neighbors hear me, but whoever's home, no i dont want them to hear me. i've heard my friends have sex and i didn't even want to listen, but one of my friends got aroused haha.

I also don't care about neighbors or anything and i want to be able to make noise if im feeling like doing at - although im pretty confident the walls are thick enough- and the roommate issue- that's why my fiance and i live together by ourselves- no more worrying about roommates but that did freak me out before

My boyfriend has room mates and his house is kind of the hang out for all his friends, so there are usually people in the house when we're chilling in his room and... uh... having sex. Anyway, his walls are pretty thin, but I'm not like really loud or anything- but it's still awkward to see his friends around his house after. I doubt they even hear us from the other side of the house, but it's like they know anyway.

Being walked in on, however, is a completely different story. *blush*

I don't typically make noises and when I do they aren't loud. I have never been with a noisy guy either. I wouldn't want anyone else hearing me though.

i chose 'other' because it depends. if it is my friends or people i don't know, i don't care if i'm heard. my parents on the other hand... i try to keep them out of it lol. it's not the end of the world if i'm heard, but that's just sooo awkward!

Funny Story. My boy gets cheap rent living in an apartment his grandma owns in her house. Apparently, she has begun to complain about "the noise". But, no, she didn't tell him. She told his uncle... who told his mother (both of whom live hours away)... who told him. And since I've yet to meet his family, they now think he's bringing home a hoard of different drug addicts and prostitutes every night. I'm mortified to say the least. I don't know if I could ever, now, meet these people! "Hi, I was the one who you mistook for a druggie or a hooker these past few months. Sorry about that."

PS- His grandmother and his mother and I have the same name. Creeeeeeepy.

When I have someone over at my apartment visiting, I try to keep the noises down but for the most part, don't really care. I couldn't care less if a neighbor heard us..more than likely we'll hear our neighbors. Funny story- my neighbors, in NC, had a habit of listening to music/tv or whatever very loudly and I could hear it day long and most of the night. I swear they would turn on their stereo all the way and then leave for the day, it was evil. So, when they had friends over and being really noisy, on week night no less, my husband and I had noisy, loud, no holds sex on the futon- which squeaked. It was hilarious and so naughty..so much fun! ha. The neighbors and their friends moved outside and turned the noise down.

It really depends for me, too. If I am at my boy's parents' house, I'm not going to start screaming at the top of my lungs. They have younger girls in the house, and I don't want to be ridiculously rude. However, in my apartment, I do whatever I want. Last year, the walls in my old apartment were soo thin, you could hear the person breathing (literally!), but this year, the walls are thick enough for a massacre to happen, and no one could hear.

I don't care..I'm going to enjoy myself and if my sex making makes me moan, groan and "oooh" out during and throughout, then I'll go for it! Being able to express myself just makes it all the more better! Except for when you absolutely HAVE to be quiet b/c you'll get caught and actually suffer repercussions, and you have to bite your lip or have your partner cover your mouth to make sure you aren't loud...then that can be just as much of a turn on!

Hmm...I guess I have a mixed answer. Call me oldfashioned, but I think it's rude if you have visitors over and then have loud sex when they're there. It's just uncomfortable for them. If you have roommates though, you're eventually gonna have sex sometime. I'd rather have people not hear me, but one time my roomies came home from class early and heard us and then mentioned they did! I was embarassed until they also said we both must be good from the way it sounded..haha embarassing but funny at the same time.

I have hard-wood floors. My bed is wood. It is quite loud. Some days I wonder what my neighbors think.... but It doesn't stop me!

It depends on how well I know them. I don't much care if my neighbors hear (and if we're that loud we're obviously having a good time so I'm really not going to put a cork in it) but if there are friends or family in the next room then we'll keep it down. It was interesting at Christmas being in my old bedroom with my parents just down the hall!

I didn't make much noise when I first started having sex but after 5 years with my husband I have turned into quite a yeller. Hee.
