When we meet someone new or find ourselves with that butterfly feeling, the natural inclination is to share the news with friends, family, and whoever else might listen. There’s so much pleasure in going over the details of a chance encounter or eye-opening date, but sometimes sharing too much too soon can lead to feelings of embarrassment and rejection if things don’t work out.

It’s fun to talk about a guy asking for your number, but it can be painful to later disclose that he never called. While I love to hear about my friends’ escapades no matter the outcome, I understand when they keep things under wraps until they get more serious. Does this ring true for you? Do you tend to spread the word about a new love interest? Or do you think it’s better to keep it quiet at first until you have an idea of how things will pan out?

I'm always dead silent... I'm embarrassed to go into that kind of detail... plus, I wouldn't like to tell everyone and then suddenly have people (that I never told anything about to begin with) asking me about it, saying "so how are things going with ...?" and then having to actually tell them "they went sour".
1Definitely not for me.
I like to keep it quiet at first, but if someone asks about it then I won't lie.
2Ok, I'm the oddball out. If I'm excited about something, I have to share it! I may not share it with a stranger in the street, but my family and friends are there even when things go awry.
3I totally overshare!! I need to stop doing this! For those of you that keep quiet.. how do you quash the urge??

6i gotta tell! =)
I overshare, I can't help myself.
7I'm very, very privet. I usually just tell my mom but not my friends, I like to keep my relationships to my self.
