Tony Snow, former White House press secretary and conservative political commentator, died in Washington, DC, this morning of colon cancer at the age of 53.
President Bush gave a statement from Camp David where he's spending the weekend saying, "America has lost a devoted public servant and a man of character. It was a joy to watch Tony at the podium each day. He brought wit, grace, and a great love of country to his work."
Snow's served as press secretary for 17 months, until his last briefing on September 12, 2007, shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. Bush said his family's thoughts and prayers are with Snow's wife and their three children.

1I read this first thing when I got up this morning and it makes me so sad. He always had such a great attitude that really shined through whatever medium he was speaking from. He will be missed very much.
2Tony Snow will go down in history as one of the best humans who graced our television sets. His smile will be missed. He was so upbeat and so positive that I prayed he would beat cancer again.
Prayers to his wife, children, for the repose of his soul, and for everyone who had the privilege to know and love him.

This is really sad. He seemed like such a great guy, and was obviously very talented as press secretary. This just makes me sad.
4RIP, Tony Snow. He was a great man, and I watched him quite often. I'm really sad, and I was blown away this morning when I heard the news. God bless him and his family.
5I had no idea he was going through another round. The last I heard I thought he was in remission. This took me by surprise. I feel for him and his family.
6I liked Tony Snow. He was never anything less than a gentlemen to all. At the moment I'm listening to a long line of (liverals) on Fox news paying their respects.
