"Yesterday, while attempting to distance himself from his top economic advisor Phil Gramm's claim that America is a "nation of whiners," McCain said:
"I strongly disagree. Phil Gramm does not speak for me. I speak for me."- McCain
Funny that after Wesley Clark made his comments about McCain's readiness to lead on Face the Nation last week, the McCain campaign issued 16 press releases in two days, denouncing Clark and Obama. Apparently only McCain speaks for McCain, but everyone speaks for Obama."
I am so glad that someone is finally bringing this up. If a close advisor to Obama made a statement like this, the media would be discussing it morning, noon, and night. But McCain will once again get a pass. This is not the first time McCain has said a close advisor does not speak for him after controversial statements. Phil Gramm does not speak for McCain, he just helps write is economic policy.
1Bush is one of those seniors that gets senioritis so bad that colleges revoke their acceptance letters.
I'm not sure I believe this one though - video please.
2Great points, lilblu!
I am anyway so sick of the surrogate wars. I'd rather focus on what the candidates are saying in regards to policy and things that matter, than on what faux pas their respective surrogates make every day.
3Sarkozy's channeling Marvin the Martian in this picture.
4LOL stephley!
I'd rather have a Jet Li museum than a Jackie Chan one.
5Jude C, I've always loved Jet Li movies.
6Jet Li's definitely my favorite of the major martial-arts stars. I get into huge debates with my fiance about him, since my fiance hates him and loves Jackie Chan, whom I really can't stand.
7I'm not a huge Jackie Chang fan either. But, I'll give any movie with Jet Li a chance.
8I saw a trailer a while back for a new historical epic he's in with Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro? What a dream cast
I think the only Jet Li movie I don't like is that one with DMX.
9Jude, I even liked the movie with DMX. I'll keep an eye out for the movie with Lau and Kanehiro. It's a shame that DMX has allowed drugs to destroy hi life.
10You can probably find the trailer on YouTube. It's super long, but looks interesting.
11Jude is the movie The Warlords ?
12Yep!
13i dont believe this bush story -- it's too weird.
14They wouldn't put it on Donklephant if it weren't true. They are the gold standard of internet journalism.
15Donklephant=gold standard??
16Do you think he is misfiring somewhere? How else can you interpret that polluter remark? Years later we found out Reagan was in early Alzheimers. Mark my words...you heard it here first.
17I still don't necessarily believe the remark. I'd like to hear it on tape.
18hmm, i am confused about why people are skeptical. are quotes ever reported as news and later proved unsaid?
19Finally he has something to be proud of, something that he is the best at.
20I have seen the Gramm comment all over the news; I don't know where some of you have been!
21lilkim - Which one is the Gramm comment?
22lilkim - Which one is the Gramm comment?
23I think whoever came up with the name "Donklephant" should be thrashed severely.
24Probably some hippie.
