Maybe they couldn't afford a church or event hall wedding but they wanted a little more than a courthouse.

Wow... that was classy.

Mother of the bride with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth while she does her daughter's hair. Father of the bride had the tact to tie back his gigantic ponytail to walk the bride down the parking lot/aisle. Heart warming.

The heart ring the groom was wearing.. I got one of those out of a 25¢ machine when I was 13! When it turns his finger black, he wont have to wear it anymore! It will be stained on his finger in the shape a heart forever.

The photographer... AMAZING! They made the bride and groom look fuzzy and shiney in all of the shots! What a technique!

I also looove that the guests are sitting on milk baskets. Wow, that really tops the class of this wedding off.

If only my day will be that magical.

I spent so much time at the Waffle House in high school and college that a WH wedding almost seems like a good idea to me. The only tragedy of Pam and Bubba's special day is the lack of a waffle wedding cake.

I think instead of making fun of these guys, we should be happy for them. Not everyone was raised the same ... nor does everyone have tons of money to spend on a wedding. And who knows why Waffle House - maybe that's where they met or something else very special to them happened. Ok, so the guests are casual and "mom" has a cigarette in her mouth. Big deal - at least they're getting married and have people who care around them - and NOT going into debt for the rest of their lives for this one day.

Wow some judgmental sugars here ... I agree with Sweetpea not everyone has the money for a big gala. Marriage is about love, unity and everlasting commitment, not your guest, their cocktails or en trees. People need to come off their proverbial high horse its ugly.

Lighten up - even the father of the bride was quoted in the article saying the wedding was "pretty redneck" but he was ok with it because he's a redneck anyway. One of the guests at the wedding videotaped it to send to that CMT show about redneck weddings for pete's sake! I think that if the couple's own family and friends are relaxed enough to poke a little fun at the wedding then we're allowed to also.

And isn't making assumptions about a person's character based on what she finds amusing just as judgmental and ugly as "looking down" on the type of wedding a couple chooses to have?
Hmmm...food for thought.

Also - they DID meet at the Waffle House, in fact, they both work at that Waffle House and he had to work that day so they just ended up deciding to do it there. So at least there was some logic to their choice of location...I guess.

You can't just stumble upon being classy, you have to work at it. But I could care less it's there wedding.

We should all be happy for them...they had their 'dream' wedding. I don't think is fun to make fun of other people's dreams.

I personally know and work with Bubba and Pam. The wedding was not a joke, nor should it be made fun of. They planned their wedding just like everyone else, picking a location that was perfect for them. The fact that you may not understand , or have picked the same location , doesn't matter because it's not your wedding. The media being there was a surprise. They had no prior knowledge that the media would be there. They planned their wedding day with the same excitement everyone else plans with. It's easy to look at the empty minded pictures took in poor taste by the photographer, and overlook the fact that two people were actually celebrating their love for one another. What the photographer didn't explain was that this was supposed to be just a small gathering of family and friends. Forty years from now when your divorced and still paying on the debt from your own wedding, maybe then you will look at this wedding with different eyes.
