You just moved into a new apartment, and while you used to live on the top floor, you’re now living right in the middle. You haven’t had many issues with the building as a whole, and you’ve never even seen or heard your downstairs neighbor, but it only takes a week for you to realize your upstairs neighbor may be a problem. Would if be worse if . . .
This: All you hear when she’s home is the stomping of feet or the booming voices from her TV? Worse still, she seems to have a strange habit of watching TV in the middle of the night; the reverberations of infomercials keep you up.
Or . . .
That: She’s fairly quiet until she’s having loud and very kinky sex (in all rooms of the house)? You’d get over it more easily if it didn’t happen all week long!

I think the stomping is much worse...with the sex at least you can turn on the tv, or music to cover it up if it bugs you that much. But loud tv when you're trying to sleep is horribly obnoxious.
1I can't even choose their both dreadfully annoying.

4my upstairs neighbor is a stomper! and it would start really early in the morning. we were completely baffled as to what she was doing because she would cross from one end to the apartment to the other at least 10 times every morning. but now we think she has a boyfriend because we don't hear her home as much anymore.
5Definitely stomping or constant noise from the TV would be worse, my neighbors randomly sound like they're parading elephants throughout their apartment. This generally only lasts about an hour though. It sucks, but thank god they didn't do it all the time or I'd go nuts! I could probably handle the loud sex.

8I'm not gonna lie, I'd rather hear the sex. I live in a downstairs apartment right now and the lady's daughter's bedroom is right above me. She blasts her music, and plays guitar everyday. So annoying... And I hate the sound of the TV at night, so that would be worse for me. And like RaCheer said, at least you could laugh at the sex. LOL!
9i dunno. it doesn't bother me one way or the other.
if i need to sleep, i fall asleep regardless of the sounds being made.

what DOES bother me is when neighbors leave their window shades wide open. my neighbor just moved in a month or so ago. and she leaves her Venetian blinds pulled all the way up . . .at 9pm at night!
yeah, we live in safe condos, but it gets under my skin. AND she carries a ugly a*s brown purse. it's something i wouldn't even let my mother carry, much less a 20-something. and WHY does she have so many pictures of her dog, Maggie on the side of her refrigerator???
see... she's forcing me to look in her condo and judge her. it drives me nuts.
10Stomping is worse... I'd be a hypocrite if I complained about the loud sex. I had to leave my very first apartment because one night I had my boyfriend and a couple of friends over watching a movie and my landlord came down and said "Hey, I noticed your boyfriends car out front... could you please keep your personal relations down? Our bedroom is right above yours." and then the next day he came back and had a 20minute conversation with me about how "If my wife and I were making those kind of noises, you wouldnt appreciate it either." etc etc... I gave notice a week later.
I dont feel bad in the apartment I'm in now tho cuz my neighbour is an incredibly loud snorer but we can only hear him in the dead of night when everything else is silent so we assume he cant hear us having sex unless we're doing it loud late at night and even then, he cant complain because of his snoring. hehehe
11Mine's a stomper and she wears these stupid kitten heels (I'm imagining they are kitten heels but they are some kind of noisy heel) ALL the time. Day and night. Maybe they are kitten heeled houseshoes.
12Stomping if worse because people can only keep up the sex noises for a limited amount of time without dying of exhaustion.

14I lived under a "bed rocker" for quite some time...well...she was both a stomper too...but the sex noises when she came home at 2am and would go on for 2-3 hours was unbearable when we were trying to sleep. and it was REALLY LOUD. She sometimes had more than one person up there with her too! I could and have dealt with the stomping but the sex noise was bad. Luckily I live in my own house now and don't have to hear anything!
15I lived beneath a stomper - with two dogs that liked to bark in the middle of the night AND when she was away at work.
At least if she was getting it on really noisely I could cheer her on. But I couldn't see an up side to those bloody dogs.
16My upstairs neighbor does both, and has loud fights with his girlfriend on top of it! And then, don't you know, they're big on makeup sex - and I really, really shouldn't know that. The TV and stereo are always at top volume, too, to the point where it drowns out whatever I'm watching or listening to. One moment of hilarity was when they watched The Break-Up on top volume - I know, if I know it through a wall, I know it too well, but I can't help but wonder the knock-down, drag-out fight they'd have if this guy brought home the wrong number of lemons!

18Definitely stomping!! I've had both of these things happen, and it's easier to look at them in the hall knowing they only stomp their feet, rather than knowing they had 2 hours of loud sex last night haha. But stomping feet all day long pisses me off.
19I have a stomper living above me. Well, judging from the sounds they're stompers, bowlers and tap dancers. And they never sleep. But I've learned to ignore it, so the sex would be worse.
20I'd rather hear the sex once a night than hear her all day stomping around.

22I couldn't stand either. If someone was rude enough to be loud doing either knowing that they have people living close to them, I'd be banging my goddamn ceiling with a broom for days on end. That, or I'd just get an upstairs and move on.
23I've lived under a stomper and it was awful. It was like he never slept. But, the sex would drive me crazy too, so I can't really choose. I'm just glad that all of my neighbors are considerate.
24I have lived under stompers before and they all have had children to boot (running! at 2am, even!) and couldn't manage to keep the tv or stereo at a reasonable volume. We called the police on the worst offenders once because my landlord wouldn't do anything about it. Our current lease is up in a few months and we're going to try our hardest to get a top floor.
25stompers, obviously. sex can be fun. lol. i've just heard that on movies, never in real life. but if they are TOO loud, i can always knock on their door and say, 'could u moan quietly please? im trying to live a life downstairs!'
