Assuming you aren't ready to have kids, you're most likely using some sort of birth control. But since condoms are only 85 percent effective, and IUCs and the pill are 99 percent effective, there is that small chance you could still get pregnant. So with that said, waiting for your period to come can be a nerve-wracking event. And even though getting your period and suffering through everything that comes with it isn't fun, when I'm sexually active, I'm almost elated when it comes! Are you ladies with me in this one? Do you get that relieved, excited feeling when your monthly friend comes even though you're using protection?

I'm freakin' 36 years old and married (no kiddies yet)and I still am completely relieved when Aunt Flo comes to visit!
1i chose other because even tho i've been on the pill for six years and am diligent in how i take it...i still am happy when i get my period bc well things happen
i am happy for the first sighting. then im like god is it over yet hahaha
2yea every time i get it im like woohoo..then im like....whens it overrrrrr
3I'm always relieved, but I have a really painful period, so...yeah, sometimes, not so much.
4I take my birth control on time every single day, yet I'm still relieved wen my period comes. In the days in between the last pill and the period starting, I'm always a little nervous in the back of my mind.
5Yes, I am totally relieved when it comes but that's because I suffer from severe PMDD/PMS
6Meh. I dread the day it comes around. Yay cramps, bloating and insatiable chocolate cravings.
7I'm 36 also, but with 2 kids. My husband and I don't want anymore!
So yes, I'm
always relived when my cycle begins. My cycle is irregular, so I'm usually sweating bullets every month when it does not come on time!
8We're married and child-free by choice, so yes, I'm really relieved when my monthly girlfriend arrives. We use birth control, but no birth control is 100% effective. There's always that tiny margin I may get pregnant.
Also, I like to have regular cycles for female health reasons.
9Yes, very very relieved.
10No periods for me anymore. I had a hysterectomy a few months ago due to severe endometriosis. Before that, my period ruled my life and I hated it so much, and all the horrible, excruciating pain it caused me. Throwing out my tampons and pads after my surgery was one of the happiest days of my life.
11Yeah, I do get relieved when it comes even though I hate my periods.
12LMAO..That is pretty darn funny this was posted. I use the pills as my protection but I always still worry. In fact I just switched brands and I was googling like crazy a few weeks ago if I could get pregnant by switching. Not to mention I did it once when my period was on! So I was relieved yesterday when I got Aunt Flo. lol. Now I'm sitting in bed rocking back and forth with severe cramping! I have endometriosis so my periods are painful.
13I'm on birth control and take it religiously, but my boyfriend and I just recently started "having relations" (LMAO
), so it's got me feeling pretty paranoid. I'll feel a lot better when the end of the month gets here. *sigh*
14I do the happy dance when I get my ma'i! Definitely. I take the pill everyday at a certain time but still... you never can be too careful. When you least expect it, it happens right??
15I take a nine week pill, kind of like seasonale but more often. At the end of nine weeks, I'm VERY relieved to start my period!
16Even though I take my birth control at the same time everyday, I am still relieved when my period comes.
17as much as I hate my period, it is a nice verification that I won't have any little surprises!
18Hell, even when I wasn't in a relationship, I was excited when it came. It reminds me everything is running normal
I've just started on the pill and I'm loving that it's gonna be regulated now!
19My period starts saturday morning after I start my Yaz placebos on wednesday. One month my period didnt start til Sunday, and I was so scared! But I'm more worried about getting STDs than a baby.
Oh and my periods are horrible... when I 1st started on birth control I thought they were shorter and lighter, but I just think that was wishful thinking. The only benefit with the pill is that I know exactly when my period will come.
20YES.
21Yeah! For the first few months when I started birth control, I freaked out EVERY month. Like, I would be "expecting" it on Wednesday morning and by noon I would frantically IM my friends from work like, oh my god, is this normal??? And then it would arrive by the time I got home.
Random funny thing... my friends and I would always say that we were hooking up with Tom when we were on our periods (Time Of Month), and then I started dating my boyfriend whose name is Tom... oh the confusion that caused!!
22I dont get them, so I wouldnt know.
woot woot I do feel everyones
pains though
23hahah glad i'm not the only one!
24no, we're actually trying to get pregnant...last month we cried when I got it
25I'm on the pill and don't really think about it. I've never been late, though. That would freak me out tremendously.
26NO not at all. I had my tubes tied, so I feel like there is NO reason for me to even have a period. It's more of an annoyance than anything.
27im alaways excited the first day i get my period since fiance and i do not use protection, we've been having sex for 3 1/2 years and no baby yet, we use the pull out method, please dont try this at home, this has worked for us and may not for others
28Once I was sexually active I was always a little relieved when my period came, no matter how careful I was. Now Im married and we arent trying for a baby just yet, but Im getting to the point where Im a little disappointed when it comes, even though we arent trying and Im still on the pill. Stupid right? I guess it just means that Im pretty ready emotionally.
29My biggest fear right now is getting pregnant! I'm like super paranoid about it because I'm in law school and am in no way ready or able to have a child. So with that said I am always so relieved when I get my period. I'm on the pill, but I'm not so great at remembering to take it at the same time every day so when I am having sex I always worry. I used to be on Loestrin, the pill where you have shorter periods and after a while I wasn't really getting my period at all. And my gyno was like yeah with this pill you can spot for like a day and not even notice and thats your period. So being on that pill definitely wasn't helpful in making sure I'm wasn't knocked up!
30Well my boyfriend is finishing college now, I'm in Turks Island and he is in Egypt so each month my friend comes I'm have a more expected feeling than a relieved one because I cant explain a baby without the baby making process so should she not come it's to the doctors office I go. For me it's no birth control, no sex and no kids... FOR NOW~*~
31before i got on the pill i had really weird cycles. most of the time it would come every other month. a couple of times it didn't come for 4 months! so i got on the pill and thankfully, it comes pretty much on time each time.
32I always feel kind of unhappy about it. I don't know. I hate my period so whatever. ;p I worry because I might be infertile due to the injection so although it's nice to have it there... it might not be indicative that anything is going on down there.
I'm about to stop using condoms and begin the combined pill at the start of my next cycle. Yippee, more hormones. ;p
85% effective? Really? Is that because so many retards use them incorrectly?
33I've been scared a few times but I have and IUD and I'm pretty confident in the over 99% protection.
34same with JaimeLeah526 except i'm on the ring
35Yes, I'm always a little happy when it shows up
pinkprincess1101, my SO and I used the pull out method for 3 years and never got pregnant. Now I'm on the pill though.
36I've been on the Pill for 14 years (and am getting ready to go off it and start a family), so I never really worried about whether or not I'd get my period. It's pretty much like clockwork.
37I've been through a lot with my body, so I know it well enough to know if I were pregnant or not. I admit, I've had a few scares, despite being on birth control, but I'm confident my body will let me know the instant I become pregnant. I'm that in-tune with it.
38Im happy when it leaves.
39Well, I found out that it is really hard for me to get pregnant, just because of the way my body works, and I'm on the pill, so I don't worry necessarily. I'm aware of when my period is supposed to come, but I don't feel relieved and I don't pace around waiting for it.
40yes but not because i have sex. im a virgin. i get relieved because i dont wanna miss a period. i wanna have regular periods. not irregular ones
