I have been really confused lately about my career situation. I'm in a career that I'm not too interested in, but the money and growth potential is good. My thoughts lately have been more about how I can incorporate what I love into what I do for a living and how I can help people. I would say that my core values are Integrity, Kindness and Honesty. The industry I'm in right now doesn't really seem in line with those values and I'd like to do something that feels right for me, but I don't want to give up my financial stability.
I know it's a pretty tall order, but I'd really appreciate any imput you guys might have.

Have you explored other ways your education could be applied (other careers)? Is there a nightcourse or online class you could take to help broaden your options? What about spending more of your non-working time doing things that make you feel more personally fulfilled (charity work, volunteering at a shelter, teaching people to read...) I applaud you for being willing to consider making some major life changes, if they will help you rest easier at night then I say go for it!
1Volunteer in your free time. It might help to steer you in the right direction. If it means less money, be prepared to accept a new lifestyle, ask yourself if you can live with less money (less shopping, eating out, cinemas, treats..). Take your time.
2i soo understand u..i used to b in advertising and i felt the values of the business contradicted with my own values..it made me soo uncomfortable !!! i was so relieved when i left but i didnt ave the issue of finances to deal with..best thing is to do whatever u want on the side as a hobby or give urself some years save up and open ur own company which does CHARITY..thats my own
3I had the same feelings as you several years ago, and I quit my consulting gig and joined AmeriCorps. I went to being very financially secure, to making $9,000 a year. It was scary and amazing and I wouldn't change one minute of it.
Follow your heart. Pick up a book called The Alchemist if you haven't already read it. It's a wonderful book to read if you are going through a time of change, or even considering it.
If you believe in Integrity, Honesty, and Kindness, then you have the power within you to channel that and truly make a difference in the world. I am sure you will find something that will enable you to be both financially stable, and to do what you love.
