"Of course it says pancakes on the outside," intones the only normal person in this 1969 ad, "but there's a Lot more on the inSiDe." Hmmm. . .I wonder what he means? The whole family seems to be in very high spirits after their meal there.
Thanks, AdFreak!

They seemed to be in very high spirits before the meal too. I wonder where they got all those balloons?
1Everyone did drugs in the 60s.
2Ok so..to sum up:
1)Family run through field (for inexplicable reason) with tons of balloons (for inexplicable reason) to oddly space-age background music...being sung by...
2)..singer, who inhaled helium from leftover balloons (for inexplicable reason)...before family sits down to....
3)Dine, with facial expressions bordering on the "I have seen God and her name is Maple Syrup" beatific, on what looks more like enchiladas with blood sauce than pancakes.
....(gotta love Lileks.com for permanently ruining my perceptions of 1950s-1970s food photographs, looove that site)
Puddlesworth may be right... or am I the only one that thinks this commercial takes on a WHOLE NEW level of awesomeness if the viewer is stoned out of their box at the time?
3LOL>.....how funny.....won der if I can convince my family to run with balloons after eating there?????!!!!!
4This made me cock my head and go "barroo?"
Wow.
5My god, that's evil!
6too freaky!
7That was the scariest jingle I think I've ever heard...
8Honestly I think I'm going to have nightmares about that song.
9scary stuff!!
10So disturbing.
11WTF?!
12I see you've found one of Aphex Twin's earlier works when he was just a jingle writer.
