I’ve always had this fantasy about getting a gorgeous tattoo scrawled across my wrist or hip bone, but I’d never go through with it. Really, tattoos just aren’t my style on my own body or on a guy’s. But some women absolutely love a man covered in tattoos. I guess there’s just something about all those colors and lines that make them go gaga. Though I can’t say a couple of tattoos would be a dealbreaker, I wouldn’t consider them a turn on. What about you?

Depends on what they have and where, obviously!
1My BF has several large ones.. at first I didn't like them, but some of them I just grew used to. There are two I'd like to get rid of, but it's painful and expensive... and I have good reason.. one is his wedding ring, from his ex-wife, and the other is her name across his stomach. Ugh, if only laser surgery was cheaper!
2I voted turn on, but only if they aren't stupid! No tribal arm bands or cartoon characters
3As someone with 9 tattoos, I obviously find them a turn-on, but only if they aren't cheesy (i.e., barbed wire across the bicep, a la Pam Anderson).
4I hate tattoos! Definitely a turn off for me. I don't know why anyone would want to destroy their skin like that.
5i dont like tattoos on guys. well it looks good on some guys but i personally wouldnt want any on my husband.
i'll convince him
6i would like to have a tasteful little tattoo , either on my ankle or near my hipbone, but hubby wont have it
It all depends on what they are and how they came out. A messed up tattoo is just as bad as a cartoon character in my eyes, even though that's not always the tattooed persons fault.
7Total turn on! I love sleeves!
8i picked "turn off" BUT i do like my bf's tattoos! he has 2 under each upper arm. they both mean something significant and look simple and sexy. I don't like tattoos all over a body.
i like tattoos on guys that are not tattoo type of people.... does that make sense? lol!
9i think one or two would be a turn on, and no cheesy ones!
10Turn off definitely. Everyone has the same tattoo even though it's supposed to be a symbol of your individuality. Guys always have them on their arms or upper back and girls always have them on their lower back. No thanks.
11Turn Off. They practically scream "shortsighted and impulsive" to me. My bf in high school got a purple and yellow Grateful Dead dancing bear the whole length of his calf. Hey, I love the Dead, too, but that was just ridiculous.
12Same sentiments kittykat, although I'd also add in what's the reason behind the ink.
13I'm not a complete hater of tattoos. However, it is a real turn-off if they're just stupid. I'm thinking of one guy in particular who I dated. He had U of A wildcat on his shoulder blade which he NEVER even went to but was totally obsessed with and the Arizona state flag. Dude, if your going to get tattoo don't be a jackass about it.
14Turn on! They are sexy when you know that person loves tattooes. I hat it though when guys have those stupid tribal tattoo, that is no sexy.
15One tattoo is okay ......
16They're not super sexy, depending on the guy they can be.
17My husband is sexy, but he has a tattoo on his back and it is not sexy- his back before the tattoo was sexy. Eh, some guys pull them off in a very hot way, some not so much.
pretty much a turn off for me... but one or two might be ok
18I would never judge a person for friendship based on a tattoo, but when it comes to dating.. it is an absolute deal-breaker. I would never, EVER, date someone with a tattoo. Hate them.
19Im not against them, it jsut depends on where it is and what it is. Stupid tattoos are a turn off and big tattoos that cover your entire back, for example, are a turn off as well. But again, I don't mind one or 2

21It depends on 1) what the tattoo is (what it signifies, 2) which part of the body, and 3) how much body area the tattoo occupies. If it signifies anything that is evil and satanic, definitely a no-no. If it is the arm or shoulders, no-no also. If it covers the entire back or entire length of the arm or entire chest and abdomen, absolutely a turn-off.
22I have huge wings on my back...but I won't *let* (hehe) my boyfriend get any. His body is literally perfection and I just don't want to see ANY of it covered with a tattoo.
But I did of course offer to help him design one if he ever chose to...maybe on like his back.
Funny thing...when we first started dating and he saw mine, he really was into getting one. And I kept letting my voice be heard of how he shouldn't. Over 3 years later, he has no interest in getting one even if I find one and say how great that would look on him lol.
I feel I did my part:)
23Turn on, as long as there aren't any tattoo's covering his face which is just gross.
24Ehh, I had an ex who had a few, a huge one on his chest of a skull smoking a pipe to cover up an ex girlfriend's name and a keyhole of a naked woman (klassy) and they were not all that attractive. My bf has one but it is on his hip bone and it is of his fraternity crest. I have one on my left hip and it is small and has significance, to honor my Japanese background. It is the Kanji symbol for strength. I don't know I have a friend who has five, she has one on her chest of her son's name. Umm, how are you ever going to forget that? I think they are a turn on if they are small and in a discreet place.
25i think it depends on what and where they have it, plus how many of it they have.
i think none, one or two is SEXY, more that that is a huge turn off
26i think it's sooooooo stupid and pointless when people just get some random design on their body. tattoos are totally lame unless its something that means something to you, and will mean something to you forever. not some stupid flower 'stamp.' if its like a memorial tattoo, or a symbol of something youre passionate about or something like that, then thats okay as long as its not huge.
27Love my bf's tattoos... half sleeves, hipbones, calves and all... but I'm pretty tattooed up myself, so there you have it.
28my bf has his chest, arms and his lower leg, and i think he looks amazing
29Turn on if they are done right.
30How come the man in the picture has shinier and smoother hair then me ? lol
31Im tatted myself to it's a turns on from now on. However, if it's a stupid tattoo...we're going go have problems.
32i freakin LOVE tattoo's!!! i have 5 myself. I love my men to have them too. Unless they're tribal. I hate tribal tattoo's, you're not in a tribe, you live in the suburbs, i mean, come on.
33I myself, am 50% covered over my entire body...
where my husband has zero tattoos!
before I met him I dated only heavily tattooed guys (musicians and tattoo artists) and found it very sexy to just sit there and study all their artwork - but my husband is even sexier with no tattoos... I love how precious his bare skin is! I think I would flip out if he ever decided to get one!
34If it was a few cool tattoos (the kind you wouldn't get sick of in 5 years) it would be a big turn on. But sleeves of tats or ones in gross places would be a turn off.
35I never really find myself attracted to guys with tons of tattoos. If he has a few (under 5) MEANINGFUL ones, then that's cool but I really don't want ink all over their body if I can have it that way!
36If its not ALL over his body & the ones he has aren't some fallic symbols or stupid things like that then yeah its a turn on
37turn on..
38Turn on. I looove a man w/ tats!
39i'm into tattoos, but depending where it is on his body and depends what kind of tattoos they are. and the tattoo has to have a meaning for it and look nice, they can't just have it just because they thought it looks cool or whatever. then it will be a turn off for me.
40Turn on and the model guy is kinda cute too
41Depends on where and what it is but also it depends on how serious I am with the guy. If it's just a fling or whatever then I don't really care but if I plan on spending the rest of my life with this man and I have to wake up every morning to his tats, they better be atleast normal/small enough to conceal
42Cheesy, cliche tattoos: total turn off
Interesting, unique tattoos: total turn on
I also disagree with general sentiment that tattoos need to mean something. Do the earrings you pick out every day mean anything? Yes, clearly they're not as permanent, but, hey, it's all decoration
43Usually a definite turn-off. I like seeing the human body in an "artsy" beautiful kind of way, and I usually think any tattoos destroy that natural beauty.
Oh, and the guy ABSOLUTELY has to have the attitude/personality to go with having tattoos. Some guys are nerdy dorks (not saying thats always a bad thing!) and they get tattoos to be "cool", and that just makes them look dumb...like their trying to hard. If they get one just b/c they think its cool, they prob. shouldn't get one. If the guy has a legitimate reason, like it really means something to him, that makes him look a lot better. In other words, you have to be legitimately "bad-@ss" to pull off tattoos...LOL
.
44turn on if its done with style and taste
45I love a guy with tattoos. I always go for the bad boys and tattoos are a sort of bad boy type of thing.
46Usually I'd say "turn off", but Michael's "hidden prison map" tattoo on Prison Break? Rowrrr! (I know it's fictional, but still...) It's weird, I don't find the actor quite as hot without the character's tattoo.
So, yeah... I'm with those who say it depends on the guy, the tattoo, and the reason for the tattoo.
47anything BUT like the guy in the picture......gross. (sorry, just in case someone thinks he's hot)
something about big tattoos + wifebeater doesn't appeal to me. meh.
48Turn-OFF.
My great uncle was in the navy and he had a large chest tattoo of a sail boat and a large arm tattoo of a mermaid. He was in his 80s and 90s when I was growing up. The sight of tattoos on aging skin is just .... disgusting.
So those tats may look sexy now, but later in life, they'll just be ridiculous and gross.
49depends on where it is and how big it is
