I really love giving gifts. There’s something so gratifying when you find the perfect present and watch someone’s face bloom into a smile as she or he receives it. Still, I think the best gifts are those that can’t be wrapped and tied with a bow. Immaterial gifts usually require extra thought and foresight, and in my own life, seem to hold the most meaning. Ladies, do tell: What’s the best gift you’ve been given?

Cruise to Alaska after graduation. That was pretty sweet.
1I got a puppy from my parents on my birthday
2I got tickets to go see the Soul2Soul tour with Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill.
3I honestly think some of the best gifts you get are the non-physical ones. Getting to spend lunch with one of my distant but closest friends was great. Being invited out for breakfast the following day was even better.
4my parents gave me the gift of a college education. i will be forever grateful and it remains the best gift i have ever gotten.
5A trip to Bermuda for my college graduation. THAT was amazing!
6for valentines day last year my hubby found a site that lets you create romance novels and ordered one for me.
7I agree with runnergeek, college education is a great gift. My favorite non-material gift was when somebody saved my life..long story. BUT my favorite material gifts are when I got my first car and a kitty on my birthday one year
:)!!
8Materially, it would be my dream engagement ring. I never thought I would own it. Hubbie and I have been married for several years, and I still swoon when I look at my ring.
Immaterially, it would be my health. I suppose that's a gift from God.
9My now-husband wrote and performed a song for me and sent it to me. This was right when we knew that we liked each other but hadn't done anything about it yet since we lived 6 hours apart. He's a rapper and he wrote this beautiful song for me and he even did a little singing on it. It's still one of his best songs even after he's recorded so many more because of all the emotion in it.
10My fiance bringing me back to live with him. My parents were very abusive... And Zach gave me that second chance. He drove 12 hours to come and get me, asked me to marry him, and our wedding is in less than 50 days
I'm marrying my best friend.
Materially, His Mom gave me my wedding dress (I picked it, she paid for it) as a gift from them to me.
11The best gifts I've ever received are not wrapped. They are the ones that give you lasting joy and peace, and that makes you smile forever.
12The kind of gifts that I know that are BLESSINGS from God.
One Christmas, my parents gave me money to buy an easel, along with a card encouraging me to pursue my art. It meant a lot. All through high school and undergrad, I was told I wasn't "an artist," because I don't do charcoal portraits of people or oil landscape paintings. But I am an artist, and my parents didn't want me to miss out on that. I've come up with some really great work on that easel.

Beautiful Wedding
All from my parents!
14both of the gifts i received are from my currents boyfriend... on valentine's day we shared our first kiss (totally cliche i guess... but we were at a party at a friends apartment... it wasnt even for the holiday... we werent even together yet) and for my birthday (again, not together yet) he sent flowers to my house because I rarely saw him between classes... mind you at that point, he was only at my house once, so the boy has good memory of where i live (my family's not listed in the phone book).... the flowers were the icing on the cake on what made my day perfect.
15*current... haha dont get the wrong idea.
16Pretty much anything my mother has ever gotten for me "just because" and the gorgeous Alice in Wonderland sweater that my BFF got my for Christmas. It's my favorite.
17my cat
18A framed black and white photo that was taken by a friend. It was gorgeous and the fact that he took it himself added an extra personal touch.
19A goat. Last Christmas my husband bought me a goat on unicef.com that will go to a family in need in Kenya.
20the barbie dream house and nintendo for christmas when i was ten...and my kitchenaid mixer that i got this past year.
21My baby shih tzu! =) And for the immaterial gifts, my parents' forgiveness for me being in a relationship with an abusive dumbass and to whom I was also engaged to...Good riddance!
22my guy gave me his favorite t-shirt
23My iPhone, my bike, digital camera and New Year's in Cornwall.
Then he broke up with me 2 months later.

27-my college education

-designer clothes (because I can't afford them myself!)
-the fact that my dad still pays my car insurance and all the gas I use. (even though I'm 26 and can afford it myself...)
A framed 1st LP by my favorite group, signed by all three members
A gorgeous watch
A song about me
The last 2 were from by wonderful bf
28For college graduation my parents gave me a 2 week Mediterranean cruise!!! We went to Venice, Rome, Florence, the Amalfi Coast, Istanbul, Kusadasi, Marseille, Athens, and Mykonos. Best gift EVER!
(They also paid for my college as well!)
29I happened to mention in casual conversation in front of my boyfriend that I only like the orange and white flavors of those little hearts with messages on them that you get for valentines day. And we were in college and broke at the time, so he bought tons of bags of those hearts and picked out all the orange and white ones and filled up a gift bag for me with them and a card. I'll never forget that one!!!
30Wow Greentea1203 you are seriously lucky if someone's still paying for your car-related stuff and you can afford it- that's beyond lucky! Anyhooo for my best gift gotta go with the money my parents gave me to pay for college.
31I have two best gifts ever. One was from a long time boyfriend who knew my dorm room was super cold, so he gave me an electric blanket to "keep me warm when he wasn't there."
The second was from a guy I had only dated once before Christmas. I mentioned COMPLETELY in passing some cookies that I liked- and he gave them to me for christmas. It was totally unexpected and very thoughtful.
The best gifts don't have to be outrageous for me. I'm easaily bought.
32One of my favorite gifts was from my boyfriend. When we first met (in London!) he gave me book called Graphic Poetry. It is a beautiful book of poems that a whole group of designers made into art pieces. I loved it. I found out from a mutual friend that he'd searched a whole day to find something to give me that would represent both of our interests (I'm a designer and he's really into theatre/philosophy/poetry).
My other favorite gift was from my cousin. He had many health challenges in his short life, and I was a very big part in taking care of him, taking him to school, standing up for him, etc. He was my world. He and my aunt gave me a beautiful ring when we graduated high school to thank me for all the love and support. He was over at my house and just handed it to me. It was so special to me. He passed away last year at 24 and the ring means even more now. I wear it to feel like he's still with me.
33Last Christmas my huby gave me a puppy.... we love him so much!
