One of my friends and her beau must always sleep in a king-size bed. When they go to a hotel, they request one, and she's reluctant to stay with me because my full-size guest bed is "soooo tiny." (Hey, at least it's not a twin!) I guess they need their space to spread out in order to catch some zzzz's.

So I was wondering, when sleeping with someone else, does the size of the bed matter to you?

yes definitely at least a queen but we are working on getting a king.
1I have a twin size bed ... and I don't like it when my boyfriend comes over because he tends to hog what little space I have.
2I voted no, but a TWIN would be a bit much. My husband and I don't take up much of the queen bed we sleep on. we definitely don't need a king, and we could make do with a full (as long as there was no footboard b/c he is so tall his feet would hit it).
3I love our queen bed. I don't know what we would do with all of the space of a king. My parents have a cali king and that just seems HUGE to me.
4Yup it matters to me. I LOVE our king-sized bed.
5We sleep on a queen but I think we could still handle a twin if we needed to. We sleep with our backs to each other and he doesnt move at all. I only move further down the bed til my head is at his bellybutton and then back up again so width wise doesnt matter at all.
I wouldnt mind sleeping a bit closer to each other.. it's fun, like camping!
6yes it matters we have a king and between the 2 of use we take up the whole bed. when visiting my in-laws we have a hard time with there queen.
7We have a Queen and honestly we couldn't go any smaller!
8My boyfriend is very....violent...in his sleep and I need my space!
A king is perfect for us...I just gotta save my money for one!
My fiance and I share a full sized bed all the time. We've slept on a twin before together, but a full is much better. A queen sized bed would be awesome, but my apartment is tiny!
9We had a king size bed which i loved. but now we have a queen. The queen works out fine but i really miss the king size bed. I love all that room. I don't like to be touched while i am sleeping and with a king size bed i don't have to worry about rolling into each other.
10Yes.... Mike had a large comfy amazing king size bed that was filled with pillows and a down mattress pad and down comforters... it was a dream come true. I think I fell in love with him because his bed was like sleeping on a cloud. And this other guy and I tried to get comfortable on a dorm extra twin bed... and let me tell you I will take Mike's couch over that bed! Plus I just grew up in a house with large beds my parents had a california king in their master suite. It was big enough to fit everyone (Mom Dad Me and Brother)
11My bf seems to think we need a king-size, but I don't know why. Neither of us is a large person! What matters to me isn't size, but stability. I can't stand beds that jiggle like jello every time one of us turns over!
12our queen is just right
13id love a king one day though, once we move into a bigger place
but if we must we'll sleep anywhere...once we shared an inflatable sleep mattress =) i enjoyed it =)
Well my boyfriend is 6'5" so yes...it REALLY matters. We're going to have to get a Cal king when we get married!
14My boyfriend hated sleeping over at my house because he's over 6 ft and I just have a tiny double. Perfect for me and my 5'2" self but he was hanging off the end.
Personally, I don't want it to be so big that I can't reach out and grab my boy. Or kick him when he's snoring.
15My husband and I are both small but we have a CALIFORNIA KING bed. We used to have a queen, and it was too small because he moves around a lot. Getting a bigger bed solved that problem almost completely. Just because a bed is big doesn't mean you can't get close and cuddle.
BIGGER IS BETTER!
16well, we like to sleep in a queen, but that's not always possible, because we're still living in dorms during the school year, and two of us on a twin, ain't exactly comfortable.
17my bf is a big guy...he takes up a lot of room, and when he sleeps, he tends to sprawl out. and he's heavy as heck to move. so the bigger, the better. if we move in together, a california king is a must!
18wow i just realized that comment made my bf seem like a lard@ass! he's big as in tall, not wide! haha.
19I said it does matter-- I mean, we dealt with twin for a LONG time because we started dating in college. But honestly, even the Queen feels tight at times. He is a big guy-- beefy ex-rugby player-- so we just need the space.
20I shared a twin for at least half of college. I felt smooshed, but it wasn't intolerable. We have a full sized bed now, and it's enough room. King size is way too much room - feels like I'm not sharing a bed at all.
21I wouldn't mind if it just for a short time of period. so I guess size does matter for the long run - like everything else in this world.
22Definitely need a king. I am a cover hog and my bf snores. I don't know how anyone does anything smaller.
23My husband and I once spent a month sharing a twin bed at his family's beach house, and it was fine. Not preferred, but we didn't suffer.
24My boyfriend and I seem to manage on my full size just fine. We've actually slept on a twin size with no problem, but then again, I can sleep almost anywhere.
25i don't sleep well with other people so when i have the choice (like in a hotel) i take a king. i personally have a queen- i could not imagine a double. if i have to at someone elses house i obviously suck it up but i don't get much sleep. someday in the far future when i get married it will be a king bed all the way. or bigger haha
26Fallen: LMAO "like camping"!
lol
Hell Naw! scoot your a*s over!
lol
I need a queen or a king depending on the size of the guy. I'm kinda small, but i need my space .
27A queen bed is plenty big enough for my hubby and I.
28My boyfriend stays over in my room during the school year and we're cuddled up in a twin bed. It's kinda nice since we're basically forced to cuddle!
29It definitely matters with me! I love sleeping in the middle of a bed, so when I share it, I usually wake up sprawled out all over or unconsciously kick my bed-mate to the very edge on their side. If I have to share a bed with my sisters, they do the same thing, so the biggest bed possible is preferred. But with my boyfriend, he never moves when he sleeps so it doesn't matter, but I'm sure he'd prefer it if the bed were big so I don't like pile drive him at night haha.
30yes!
31bigger the bed the better. I sleep on the edge of the bed with little quilt, but as soon as I am asleep i hog the whole bed and the covers. I feel terrible but its my subconscious doing it I swear!!! So a King would be a nice upgrade for us when we finally get our own place. A King wouldnt fit in our room at the moment, a queen fits just right though
32I hear you, amvbob. I'm 5'2" as well, and my boyfriend is 6'1". I have a double and when he sleeps at my place I always wake up in the middle of the night, clinging on to the edge of the mattress for dear life, trying not to fall off!
We definitely need to get a bigger bed once we get married - hopefully a king.
33the bigger the better. I do like having a lot of space in bed, at times.
34the bigger the better. I do like having a lot of space in bed, at times.
35It absolutely matters. I don't mind a queen or king, but I definitely need to have my own space when I sleep!
36I've shared many a twin size bed when at University! Me and a ex-boyfriend at the time shared a twin sized bed for like a year or so before we moved into our own place.
Now me and my boyfriend have shared a twin sized bed (in his old place) briefly before we moved into our own flat. Now we have a double (ikea sized) and it's fine.
We manage just fine though in any size bed really.
37I've shared a twin without too much discomfort, so the bed size doesn't matter THAT much, but I'd rather have at least a full.
38alot of the time no. depends who im sleeping with. with the significant other - no. with the friends - no, in fact in most cases since theres 4 of us we squish alot. but if its someone im not too familiar with but am stuck with a temporary arrangement then a little personal space helps. but im not fussy
39My Boyfriend is 6'-6" tall.
40We will squeeze into a full if required, but really only fit in a queen minimum! He has to bend his legs to fit legnth wise & that takes up a lot of room. We have a queen in our room, and it works great. It's the best most comfortable bed in the world.... now if I could just find perfect pillows......
My husband and I shared a twin size bed one night. It was okay for one night but I wouldn't want to have that forever. We only have a full and I'd like a bigger bed but it's not at the top of my list.
41size definitely matters. queen sized beds seem to be perfect. we've slept in king sized beds before but we just felt like we were so far apart.
42i have a bed a little bigger than a single bed. but its good. like i said before, we didnt have sex yet. but we do take naps together. and i need my space when i sleep. i mean i dont get all huggy wuggy while sleeping. and we do have the space for the both of us. its good enough. but no way am i napping with him in a smaller bed. bigger is fine. smaller? a no no.
43I guess i need room to sleep, but getting cozy is all that bad!
