I make dinner, he does dishes. We do laundry together, clean the livingroom and bedroom together and whoever decides to make the bed, makes the bed. We each have our own bathroom, so we clean one each of course!

It works out very nicely, cept he HATES when I leave clothes on the floor...

and an occasional sweep or whatever when im grumpy

Men do housework?

he takes out the trash, mowes, and keeps the lawn looking good (NO DANDILIONS!)
he BBQ's (I will prepare the grilling stuff)
he does dishes sometimes when he is home & bored

i tidy throughout the week (picking up clothes and trash we leave laying around sometimes)
i clean once a week from top to bottom (dusting, vacumming, mopping)
i do most of the laundry but I alays put away the clothes because I have a very specific way of putting them away
i make most dinners

we do gardening (putting flowers in and weeding)
we tidy together before guests come over
we do dishes (i do them more though)

My bf is a lil bit OCD, so he cleans. But his freezer is disgusting...

I don't like the way my husband does some stuff so I just do it myself. We split cleaning up and picking up mostly, but the office and all financial chores are his while the kitchen is mostly my domain. Now that we have a house he does trash/lawn stuff too. He cooks sometimes but I hate the way he loads the dishwasher so I mostly do it, or at least rearrange if he does it I also do most of the laundry since I have a ton of hand wash/air dry items.

The nice thing is that even if I am cleaning dishes or whatever he is usually being productive, not just watching TV.

I'm moving in with my Beau next year, and I've told him time and time again that as long as he picks his clothes up off the floor, I'm happy. He does it here all the time! My mum once saw his boxers on the floor, and flipped out and stuffed a bunch of condoms in my bra while dad wasn't looking. See what trouble he causes?

I used to do most of the cleaning except for the floors. I hate mopping and that was my hubby's chore. One day I came home and he hired a housekeeper. That worked well. He used to do the pool and garden, but since he started traveling a lot we hired people for that too.

Granted I still do the laundry with the help of my housekeepers and the daily maintenance of the kitchen.

I prefer to do most of the cleaning...I'm obsessively neat and I like things a certain way. But my husband always takes out the trash, unloads the dishwasher, and vacuums.

I actually don't mind household chores that much, so I mostly do them unless I'm really pressed for time. If I have to delegate a task, it's taking out the trash or cleaning the bathroom

Cleaning the bathroom is my fiance's job, but I have to mention that it needs to be done. Then he does it; and happily, oddly.

I keep the shopping list but we grocery shop together. I do 80% of the cooking and he does the dishes. He's also a good cook AND cleans up when he does the cooking, which I like.

When we do the laundry ourselves, we do it together, but we have it done a lot now at his insistence. He wants more 'us' time and less 'stuff to do' on the weekends.

I do most of the cleaning, but he's always willing to help if I ask, so that's okay with me.

Considering I work fulltime and my partner works from home (slow period at the moment) he does most of the day to day things, washing, making the bed, cleaning the kitchen. When I'm home I'll do the kitchen, weekend I'll do the floors/bathroom and ensure I always clean up after myself. I'm so thankful to have such a clean boyfriend, the house is always immaculate when I get home from work and its so lovely.

When we finally get our own house (living in a small studio sharing kitchen with the rents) and he goes back to being busy, I would assume I will take up more of the slack.

Why do you ladies want your own bathroom? Isn't it fun to dress with your partner checking you out or having him help you dry off, blow-dry your hair and do all those things that are easier (or simply more fun) with someone to help?

If me and my wife didn't share a bathroom for the morning routine I'd be unhappily separated from her...

That's sweet, Murmur314. I actually love sharing the bathroom with my fiance, and when we lived in Texas we showered and did our morning routine together very happily. But now that we're back in Manhattan, the bathroom is small, and two people in there isn't as doable. When we both need to get ready at the same time, a second bathroom sure would be nice!

I'd feel weird if we didn't share a bathroom too, I wouldn't like that at all!

He does the MAJORITY of the cooking and cleaning and I'm sort of ashamed to admit that. The thing is that he's pretty OCD/anal when it comes to cleanliness so even if I did it he would still re-do it to "his standard"... ;p

I've been doing most of the washing and tidying but he'll also chip in and he keeps his clothes in better condition than me! He folds his t-shirts and everything.

Nah, I don't insist on "shared housework" but we chip in where we can. When one of us is cleaning the other will generally drop what they're doing to go help.

I do the majority of the housework (cleaning, laundry, cooking, grocery shopping) but my fiancee does the yardwork and grilling and stuff.

I like having my own bathroom, then there's no fighting over the shower or the sink or the mirror etc. And he makes an awful mess when washing his face and brushing his teeth (water EVERYWHERE!) so since he cleans his own bathroom I never have to worry about it.

We will sometimes shower together but it's never when we're in a hurry, only when we are specifically looking to shower with each other. Having separate bathrooms lets our mornings go at separate speeds which is soooo nice.

I pretty much do everything, unless I pester him enough to help out. He does wash his own laundry and won't let me do it, but there's a HUGE pile of perpetually dirty laundry in/on/around his hampers.

He does the trash and recycling, as well as, 90% of the cooking. I do everything else, mostly because I have high standards when it comes to cleaning lol.

eww, sharing a bathroom with your lover? no thanks, he can take care of the grooming stuff on his own and i like some privacy too. why would having your own bathroom cause the end of your marriage? and who changes clothes in the bathroom anyway?

my husband cleans his bathroom and his office i clean the other things (with some help from the little ones, lol). dh does the heavy stuff, taking out the trash and yard work. pretty traditional lines.

Ours works out really well.
He mows the lawn, takes out the trash & deals with fixing household items (lightbulbs, smoke dector batteries, etc)
I keep the inside clean, dust, vacuum, clean the bathrooms, etc.

We both cook and do dishes, we both do our own laundry & if one person can't get to something, the other is always willing to do it for them!

We work out great & no complaining.

I'm pretty much in charge of food, and all computer- or tech-related stuff, just because I'm better at those things. I'm also in charge of all cat-related cleanup (like litterbox duty) since I had the cats before I met my husband, so that's fair (although he does clean up his share of cat vomit!). My husband is in charge of all vacuum cleaning because, for whatever reason, he is obsessed with vacuum cleaning. So he does most of the vacuuming, mopping, dusting, etc. Everything else we take turns doing for the most part. Of course we both do things that drive the other crazy, cleanliness-wise. But on the whole he is fairly tidy!

I'm pretty lucky. My hubby pretty much does everything day to day and I do a deep clean a couple times a month. I clean up the bathrooms and do the things like dusting and cleaning the windows. But I usually don't do this stuff very often. He does the day to day and the clutter control.
