I’m a total animal lover, but nothing does me in quite like an adorable, floppy puppy. So when I see a man with a dog, I can’t help but find myself staring. It may be totally clichéd, but there is something completely sweet and very sexy about a man with a pup. What do you think of the man/canine combination?

having 2 dogs myself, i dont think i would want to even consider being with someone who doesnt like dogs...
1If the guy has a Yorkie or a Maltese, he will probably be getting laid out the a$$.
2Honestly, it depends on the guy and the dog. The kind of dog the guy picks, how he treats and trains them says a lot about the guy. But if it's a puppy it's on. They're just too cute.
3And pets are a great conversation starter!
4My ex is the reason I love pitbulls. And I didn't like dogs. But, when I saw that tiny pup (I'm talking like 3 lbs tiny!!) in his apartment, I melted. As he grew, I loved how he would wrestle with the dog... both growling at each other! LOL! So great!
5In general, a turn-on, but breed matters a LOT! I would think a guy with a Yorkie, Maltese, Pomeranian, etc., was a little effeminate, and probably assume he was gay, and if he had a pit bull, Doberman, Rottie, etc., I would think he had something to prove. Those breeds can snap at any minute, and I don't want to be the victim! But any other types of dogs, definitely very cute, as long as they are well-behaved.
6I am not a dog person, so for me it is a huge turn off. I really hated seeing my then-boyfriend, now-husband with his childhood dog, because it filled me with anxiety and dread over the arguments that we will go through when he wants to get another dog someday, and I do NOT want to take care of one (he's a doctor and he's never home, so obviously even if it's "his" dog I'll be the one taking care of it, and I really dislike dogs).
7So yeah, huge turn-off. No thanks.
Turn off. Dogs make my eyes water like I can't believe, so being with a man who has one just won't work out with me.
8Size matters here. My ex raised mastiffs and those dogs were very protective of him - he thought it was funny to get behind me and act like I was hurting him so the lead dog would stand on its hind legs, with its paws on my shoulders and look down at me. I was glad to see the end of both of them. Mid-size dogs are okay though, as long as I have a fighting chance!
9To me it seems that guys regard dogs as some kind of always-loyal follower who they can boss around. If I were a girl, I'd be majorly turned off by that. And yes, I'm a total cat person - I only want pets that are have a mind of their own, just like myself.
10And stephley - I'm glad you got rid of that uncaring boyfriend of yours. What a douchebag, needing to prove his perceived superiority over you through his dogs.
11No. I like a man with cats.
12It all depends on the dog and the man's interaction with the dog. If the dog is a sweet dog and the man is truly caring towards the dog, it's a turn-on.
13TURN ON. It says ALOT about a man to me.
14Thanks! I was young...
15Total turn-on...I love a guy who loves animals.
16I prefer cats despite having both a cat and dog at my parent's house.
17I think the way a man treas animals says a lot about him. However, I think I'm neutral on the issue of dog-ownership.
18Very much a turn on, shows that he is caring, likes animals and likes to get dirty (assuming its a big dog) all of which are great qualities.
19Neither. I'm not an animal lover, so I don't really care that much.
20Dog? Yeah okay. Cat? HELL YES.
21well its a turn on cause i see how cute my fiance is with our puppy
but on the same hand sometimes its like a cheap way to pick up chicks...so turn off
22mmmm hot guys with dogs
i love when a guy has a dog and knows how to treat it
properly
like my boyfriend!
23turn off
24I have 4 cats so...depends on if the guy likes dogs AND cats or if the dog can get along with cats.
25It's definitely a turn on! Not only do they look hot taking care of it, but you meet a lot of guys at the dog park when you have one as well, and they're usually all friendly.
26compassion for animals is sexy
27Turn on. Especially if it's a hunting dog.
28Dogs scare me. They are one of my least favorite animals so definitely a turn off.
29I'm a cat person ... I can't stand to be around dogs. I turned down living in gorgeous sublets in Manhattan because the owner had a dog.
30If it's a large breed then it's a turn on!
31If it's a small dog...then I just look the other way cuz I'm assuming he's gay
i love dogs, so he must love dogs. not little yippy dogs though. that's just annoying.
32Ive always thought that you can tell how a man will treat you by how they treat their animals (and mothers
). SO yes, its a turn on for me if they are great owners.
And to the poster above, rotties and pittbulls have bad reps but it really just depends on how they are treated and trained. Sure they have genetic qualities they cant change but a dog usually only attacks when its scared, so if the owner is abusive then the dog is twitchy alot.
My bf used to have a rottie and i was scared of dogs at the time, and the rottie was such a baby!! he loved to hog the bed and cuddle all the time. and i learned to looooove dogs.. i have my own now and i want another! they never fail to put a smile on my face when im having a bad day!
33I'm not an animalperson. My parents have pets at home and I don't mind it, but I would not have actual own pet.
So I don't think it would be a problem if a man would have a dog. But it is not a turn-on. I think I would be like Carrie with Aidan's dog. Usually I don't relate that much with Carrie.
34I have four very large dogs myself, and I consider myself very lucky that my boyfriend has 'adopted' them. His parents also have 4 big dogs so I know that living with me feels completely like home!! He is great with them and it is so nice to have someone else who cares about their well-being as much as I do.
35Usually yes, depending on how the guy treats the dog. And if the guy just had one to pick up girls, or is obviously just walking one around to pick up girls, then definitely a turn off.
36Turn on! At the very least, a man with a dog proves that he can love and care for another being.
37I don't like dogs, but I'd like a man with a dog, it's just something, it's a good turn on for me. Perhaps, 'cause his emotional side is reflected with this.
38love it... a man who takes good care of his dog is a good man to have around
39I love a man with a dog. So sexy. How could you not love it?
40turn on, as long as he treats the animal with care.
I can't stand people that buy animals, especially dogs, just because they're pretty or powerful, and then treat them like a ragdoll that should behave exactly the way the owner wants. I think that's just plane cruel to the poor animal. Better leave it alone and let somebody who really cares have it.
41Taking care and responsibility of an animal, especially the demands of a dog says a lot about the personality of the person committed to them! I think it's a total turn on.. My husband loves cats, and when we got our kitten, his face and excitement at every cute thing she did was just precious to me. He is so gentle with her, and so adoring, that I know he's going to be a great dad.. seeing that nurturing side of him taught me a lot early on in our relationship.. 3 cats and a dog later, he continues to take care of and love our growing family.
42No pitbulls. Pitbulls are turnoffs. I also cant date guys with cats b/c of allergies, but any other puppy-
43i love dogs. never touched one though. but a man with a dog would be a turn off for me. because in my religion, dogs arent allowed. so i have to be turned off. lol.
