Yay!

These were great. I got tears in my eyes on a couple of them.
What I especially love is that most of these couples (most likely) have been together for a really long time and are now able to enjoy the same benefits of marriage that my husband and I do. I have to admit that I was afraid that many "new couples" would rush down to City Hall to get married just to prove a point, but the thought left my head almost as quickly as it entered.

And I absolutely loved the picture of Lady Liberty kissing Lady Justice!!!

Even though I think we should abolish marriage entirely, I always cry at weddings! These are too adorable.

It's so silly that this is even still an issue. Who are the people who are not just a little squeamish about homosexuality but actually devote their precious time and energy to combating it?

So torg, you really want to do away with marriage?
But just look at these photos. These are people who really want to be married.

I don't think the government has any place in relationships. It seems really bizarre to me that we register our relationships with the state.

On a more personal level, I don't have any need for religion in my household, so if I'm not on board with the government or religion sticking their big toes in my relationship, what need is there for marriage?

Awww. Thanks so much for going out there and getting pictures, Liberty! It gave me a window into what must have been a really exciting day for all the families.

Okay I'm officially emotional. I just looked at all the pictures. The ones that got me the most are the happy families and the woman who said I'm straight and married and I support you. Oh and I'm definitely a heterosexual woman...I love my alpha men...but liberty and justice.... That was kind of hot!

I completely teared up when i was looking through those pictures. I really liked the ones where the couples are looking into each others eyes. Clearly love knows no boundaries.

That's awesome... My co-worker's hubby got stuck amidst the wedding celebrations today in SF. I hope he takes some more good photos.

This is so fantastic!! We are one step closer to equality....
I just wish that my homosexual friends in other states could share the same rights.

there's no residency requirement in CA, so I'm betting a lot of people are planning trips out west this year.

yes i do think we will see more of this throughout the country. people in general will gradually and then faster and faster become more accepting of homosexuality. more weddings are also good for the economy too, so as long as it is generally accepted, i think state legislators (is that the correct term) will be all for it-- unless they are total homo-phobes!
