Some women are suckers for a man in a uniform. Others are attracted to lawyers or doctors, and then there are those who think musicians and artists are the cats meow. Of course it's not fair to judge someone simply by their profession, but the job someone chooses to do for their living certainly says something about who they are. I've always been attracted to business men — there's something sexy about a sharp looking man in a suit, but what about you? Do tell, are there certain careers that you find yourself drawn to in a man or are you an equal opportunity dater?

Sorry to be annoying, but I teach writing... "career's" should be "careers."
1I've always been attracted to men that at least either loved to climb the work ladder or, was the C.E.O of his own business.... Damn, I love sexy, handsome, powerful men. You ladies know the type. The one that's aware of everything and NOT temporary things. God, It's such a turn on!
2You beat me to it, fantome. I could barely get past the title and actually read the question!
I've never thought too much about this. I'm probably not attracted to men in certain kinds of careers, so much as to men who have a healthy balance of work and life. Workaholics stress me out. My bf now is a professional athlete/coach, but before him was a lawyer/history professor, and before him, a musician/Guitar Center employee. I'm all over the place!
3I've never thought too much about it either.
Men with strong arms and/or in uniform get my attention
.
As long as they are comfortable with what they do, I really don't care what career they have.
4hmm...kindergarten teachers! because you'll know hes good w/kids
5definitely the men in suits type.
6One of the main reasons (if not THE main reason) women are attracted to lawyers, doctors, or any successful man is because they see wealth with that success. Again, I'm not saying this is always the case or that its the only attraction, but YALL KNOW if you met a guy and he said he was a doctor it would be more attractive than meeting someone that said he was a grocery store clerk.
not that there's anything wrong with that....
7My boyfriend's a pilot. That's hot.
8Yup. My bf works in finance and has to travel a lot for business trips ... while I hate his early morning conference calls and jetting off, I secretly think it's so cool and sexy! And of course I'm also proud of him because I have no doubt he'll be one of those young entrepreneurs under 30 in no time.
9I had a pilot boyfriend for three years! I love pilots, polices,
10I am a sucker for a dirty, sweaty man. Construction, fire fighters, police officers, you name it. If your job involves physical labor, I'm in lust.
11I don't really care as long as his profession allows him to wear a sexy suit & tie, or hot uniform
12I tend to gravitate toward the artists and musicians. Luckily my bf makes money at his craft so it's great.
I was married to a lawyer before, won't ever do that again.
13Its weird for me, cause in my mind I would PREFER to date a business type guy with a nine to five job. Yet, I have never ACTUALLY dated one.
My high school sweet heart is now (and always aspired to be) a police man. My last boyfriend was a paramedic when we dated, and he is now a firefighter. My current boyfriend is an electrical lineman.
Its funny cause everyone who knows me knows I am the biggest worrier on planet earth, so the fact that I tend to date guys with dangerous professions is kind of ironic.
14I will admit I am all about a man in uniform, but most specifically military guys. My last 3 boyfriends now have been in the Army, and I can't seem to stop! LOL
15my boyfriend is an electrical lineman too, meggy. i love the dirty sweaty man-ly man-ness when he gets home & i like that he gets all cleaned up & smelling good when he's off work. this is the first time i've dated someone who does manual type labor like that, but i don't know if i'll go back to dating office workers. i kind of like that he's got a super masculine job.
16am with u on that one @ drear sugar
"attracted to business men — there's something sexy about a sharp looking man in a suit"
its such a turn on. lol.
i guess am attracted to a well dress men, cause am used to watching my dad dress up every morning in a nice clean suit going to work. so i tend to be attracted to that!
17mmmm. i also dig the suit and tie. fireman is hot too!
and this might sound kind of
strange, but the IT guys! nerdy cute!
18i like tech nerds
19My BF is a quantum physicist.... The scientific nerd thing is hot to me. Although he also plays guitar and has long hair, not the normal nerd type but I always know that he can teach me something or talk about something new everyday.
20Jillerin...I feel the same way. Its very important to me that the guy Im with values work-life balance.
21Now that I think about it, Im not into the manual labour types. I prefer the office worker but not someonewho wears a suit.
22engineers! haha, in college all my classes are for engineering, and the girl to guy ratio is like 1:100... its fantastic!
23Yes, business/professionals are what/who i prefer to date... and i am not too into business owners, trades people, or anything else risky or dangerous. i just want a peaceful life! no offense to anyone
24I'd rather die than be caught naked with a man who wears suits to work.
25and i like the business suit look too! hot...
26I like a man in a suit.
27I'm kind of picky. I'm not into the artist/musician types, but I don't like the suits, either. I think my ideal guy would work for some sort of nonprofit. I like smart guys, so engineer or scientist would be cool, too.
28my husband is a business owner and i love it cuz his hours/working days r flexible =)
29When I sat down to think about it I came to a pattern. I've dated 2 corporate accountants in the last 7 years. My most recent boyfriend was a real estate attorney. These are my only serious long-term relationships, I am 24). Any short lived romances I have had are with artist types, mostly actors and musicians. I guess I get serious with button down and have fun with wild boys. Interesting...
30Lummmberjacksss, carrrpenterrrs...
31Musicians, all the way.
32My smart, nerdy German engineer...yeah...sexy like the Volkswagen commercial or so says Heidi Klum about German engineering, haha.
33I love a man who just does what he really loves. Hubby is a pharmacist.
34I dated a guy who was high up in a telecommunications company..but he was wack
i dig tech guys, my bf is a programmer and i find it super-sexy.
35I don't care what a guy does for work at all. I'd just like a guy who enjoys life and likes what he does. As long as he's happy that's all that matters.
36Hmmm...not really, as long as they have a job, are ambitious and goal-oriented. I don't usually go for the musicians though...not my type at all.
37Everyone knows I am sooo into firefighters!! I always drive by the firehouses sloowwly to check things out
. And when landscapers come to my place, they're usually always hot as well, if that counts!
38engineers!
they don't bullsh*t around. they're point black logical.
i used to be drawn to lawyers and businessmen .. they look good, they are presentable, they're charming. but hey.. apparently i am not the only1 who found them interesting.. since they've too many options, they tend to shop around, too .. !
Meike .. I'm like you too!! and my name is Meike, too!! what a coincidence .. !
39I have to go with a man in a uniform. My husband is in the military and a police officer. There's nothing like a man in his Class A uniform....meow! But it did take me awhile to find a man in uniform who wasn't an egomaniac, because that's NOT attractive.
40I don't really have a preference; uniform, suit & tie, dirty and sweaty... they're all fine. I am not, however, partial to men who work in retail/restaurants. It's superficial, but I'm sorry, I'm not going to date the grocery store bag boy or the guy that serves my meal (a chef, yes - busboy/waiter, no). A job is a job, and it's nice that he has one, but still... no thanks.
41I think, for me, it's time to date a real guy with a real job! I get turned on by the corporate sexy young tycoons. Or a hot guy with an interesting and stable job as a musician or a pilot or an actor
42I may have a general type with regards to intelligence, personality, and an overall "look," but specifically career? Not really. I am sorry, but I cannot help but think that dating a guy for his career seems especially shallow to me.
Doctors, executives, and lawyers (I know plenty of them) tend to attract a lot of women and they tend to expect the attention based on their profession alone. I have seen the profession become a crutch for a lacking personality and deep seated insecurities.
The stereotype of the wealthy Alpha attracts plenty of women and I just do not believe these reasons are real love. Why feed these egos and be one of the crowd clamoring to score some guy who will (on paper) impress people? I mean, genuine interest is one thing, but a lot of these guys went to these grad schools to get laid and often. How is that attractive?
Of course, there are some people who do not fit this stereotype, but too many do. Men who think they deserve only the hottest chicks and need their ego stroked constantly will find their wife expendable.
43My boyfriend (as well as my last one) is an Engineer.
44I'd take whichever comes with long hair, especially if it's a dark gray blonde color. (...drooling...)
And I don't know about being attracted to specific type of people, but from what I can gather I actually attract a certain kind of men.
45In uniform, he has me. If he is in the military BIG +, so sexy. I even get turned on if see someone flipping burgers in a fast food restaurant. There is something about a uniform that i dont know.. Just has me.
