While research may proclaim that lovemaking should last anywhere between three and 13 minutes that doesn’t mean that the rest of us are leaving egg timers set at 7.3 minutes — the average session length — by our beds, ready and waiting. I’m not saying everyone needs to be practicing the art of tantric sex and going at it for hours upon hours, but seriously, is breaking the 15-minute mark so bad? Ladies, studies aside, how long is too long for you?

i like it relatively short. 15 min or less i've found to be the best for me.. but my current boyfriend likes 45 min to an hour+. bad match-up right there :S
130 minutes sounds about right especially when it's hot.
2does it inclue foreplay? if so, we used to go for hours... if not, we still went for hours... but we are getting better at it now... less than 1 hour usually... really exhausting though.
3I think the question is about the duration of intercourse, specifically. The whole shebang should be longer than 15 minutes, ideally, but for the actual act... ouch!

8Hm. The Beau and I never have time to be alone, but when we do, we can go at least 15-30 minutes at a time. Longer than that, and we start getting tired and want sandwiches.

12It varies due to time and mood. Quickies are fun in the mornings before work. On the weekends, we're game for a much longer session. Hehe. As for how much exactly is too much? When one or both of you are too sore or too tired to continue.
13wow...I've never thought about how long my sex sessions tend to be. At first, seeing 7 minutes as the average I was like woah! I must be an indulger...but on second thought, maybe not so long. Oh well, I prefer to be unaware of the time passing

15I'll go with the *other* sometimes it last 5 mins, other times its like 20 mins later, and usually several times months it'll last for at least a hour or more...at those time i sometimes think..omg..are you done yet? but then thats what lube's for huh?
16A half-hour to an hour is enough:) Long sex isn't always good sex but with the right person who knows what to do and different positions, the hour mark goes by quickly.
17On a side note, is it just me or do some guys go longer if they've had a few drinks??

18fluffyhelen, I'm pretty sure it's talking about the actual sex part only. I think thirty minutes is a good amount of time...but it varies..with the right person, time can just fly by. Oh and chelles, I've had bad experiences with drunk guys, but a 'few' drinks in them does make it a little better!
19Ours lasts generally an hour or more. Most girls would like this I think, but I'm a quickie kind of girl. Fast, furious and finished in under 15. We have had one quickie in a year and a half... = /
203 - 15 minutes?! Thats got to be just for intercourse, which is prolly okay, but if that includes foreplay, it needs to be alot longer!

25If I recall correctly the 3-15 minutes DOES include foreplay...which I think is frustratingly brief, but probably, realistically, typical...=(
26It's hard to take much time out of a busy day for more than a typical quickie (I'd call 7.3 minutes start-to-finish a quickie!) but GEEZE shouldn't we WANT and TRY to make it a priority, just like feeding the cat, buying laundry detergent, and doing our taxes?
